Highly recommend this place. Very friendly, professional, and courteous with customers. We rented for 2 hrs and had an amazing time strolling the whole island.

Unsafe, unreliable, untrustworthy, and unprofessional.

Rented a 4 person golf cart for two hours with my wife and in-laws. We took it to the top of the mountain to take pictures to announce our first pregnancy. On the way down the hill, the brakes failed and the cart would not stop. We were able to make it to the bottom where we coasted to safety. After returning to the rental place, I notified personnel that the brakes had failed. The maintenance worker drove it around the block, checked the brakes after going maybe 5 mph, and said "It's fine. " I then requested a partial refund since we only rented it for one of our two hours, and they refused and said it was our fault. I then was directed to two different managers, and one understood our situation and promised a refund after 7-10 business days. About 1 hour later, I saw the same golf cart (based on the cart number) being rented out. It has been 35 days and we have received no refund or courtesy emails.

Do not rent from them. Better to just walk or rent from someone else.

This is the place to rent! Get a cart and go! We had the best time and the prices were fair. The wait waas not too bad and they get you moving quickly! Get a cart and follow their map, you won't be dissapointed! (KK & Beth-from-Maui)

Plenty of 4 and 6 seaters. They take cash and cards. Provide maps. Very good experience. The route takes about 90 minutes with stops to take pictures. Easy to rent and easy to return. The price is 80 dollars per hour for 6 seater.

It was a decent experience to ride to the top of the mountain and look down at the ocean. As well as see some of the nicer homes in the hills. Mostly everyone has a golf cart, some nicer than others. At the grocery store 90 percent of parking was for golf carts.

Beyond poor customer service and poor golf cart quality. Our cart (cart #58) was extremely slow and we were passed by 6-7 golf carts (including carts from the same rental company) on our route while our accelerator was pushed all the way to the floor. This route was recommended by Pablo, the rental agent who assured us that we could complete the route in an hour and have time to stop for pictures. (You are required to give a 60$ cash deposit on top of the 60$ you pay for the hour rental and are charged 1$ per minute beyond your return time, it is now clear that this is a scheme to take mire money from patrons who are unable to return on time due to poor cart quality.) At the first viewpoint we stopped for 1 picture for at most 3 minutes however we had to pass up other viewpoints and were unable to stop again because of the lack of speed of our cart. Despite our efforts to return on time we were 10 minutes late and therefore charged 10$. Pablo would not refund the late fee despite explaining and demonstrating that our cart was faulty. All he said was “some of our carts are slower than others and you pay for the time regardless”. Don’t go to this rental store, hopefully tourists are able to check these reviews and use the other rental service on the island.

Golf cart was only half charged, it went slow, staff was rude, a random girl passed out from the heat and they wouldn't let her husband bring her into AC, their golf carts aren't allowed in many areas on the island, the staff went through my grocery bags, they charged me $9 for being 9 minutes late, they only let you rent 2 hrs at a time and even though I said that I wanted 4 hours they made me come back to sign a new rental agreement and charged me that $9 even though they knew I wanted 4 hrs from the start, and they force you to pay in cash. Horrible experience.

Terrible experience with extremely rude manager. When I asked for her first and last name she gave me, "Karen M. " She would not give me her last name. We were there for the day ported from a cruise ship on Tuesday, August 15th. We were told about an hour wait for a 6 seat cart. So, my husband took our friend that was with us next door to buy her a drink. The drink came with a straw hat which he wore. Him and I do not drink! When we came to get our cart we were refused service because the manger told us that "anyone affiliated with that hat and that bar is not permitted to take a golf cart because they are suspected of drinking and that someone died on one of their carts"! Even when we told her we don't drink she said she didn't care - that was her policy. Are you the police? LOL. First of all, again we (my husband and I) do not drink and would have been the operators of the vehicle). Second, I took a picture of their policy which just states that no open or closed containers. Our friend had that drink an hour prior to us checking in when we were called for the cart. I heard this company discriminates against people of color through other reviews. I'm wondering if this was more than just a policy the manager doesn't understand and how unprofessional to tell possible clients in front of other renters that someone died on their carts! My friend and her family were with us. Maybe this was another form of discrimination because my friend is gay and had her wife with her. No matter what the manager was unprofessional, and so terribly rude.

Ran ok the first hour, then wanted to stop on us afterwards and I complained to the people and they just brushed it off nothing was done. Next time I'll go with the other company. We even turned it in 20 minutes early

If you rent a golf cart before 12, it's $60/ hour and $60 deposit. If you want it 2 hours you'll get the 3rd hour free. You could explore the island in less than an hour but that would basically be zero stops. 2 hours for sure but 3 hours you can definitely take your time and even have lunch somewhere before returning the cart. Great company and staff with well maintained golf carts.

I want to say that I am very disappointed with this place. I took my wife and kids to Catalina Island for my wife's birthday for the day since she loves this island. However, to our surprise this place only takes CASH as a deposit for their rentals. We did not have cash with us at that moment because our debit card was not in service because we were about to get new cards and did not arrived before our trip. My honest recommendation for this place is to have better regulations when it comes to their rentals by catering to EVERYONE whether they have a credit card or cash for their deposits. Because I understand there's people that don't have credit cards and only have cash And there's people that don't carry cash at All anymore and rely on their debit/credit cards. I don't know if you'll understand this concept because honestly you are losing MONEY when customers are turned away because they don't have CASH for their deposit! As a customer we don't lose we just take our money elsewhere while in the meantime you lost a customer.

Thank you to Catalina Island Golf Cart Rental for making my special day so smooth. I wanted to take my girlfriend to the highest point of Catalina allowed on a golf cart to propose. The front desk told me exactly where to go and how to get there. Super friendly and the rental process was quick and easy. I am now engaged and have a reason to come back to Catalina every year. I am absolutely furious with Catalina Island Golf Cart Rentals. My experience with this business has been nothing short of a nightmare. From start to finish, everything that could have gone wrong did.

First off, the customer service at this place is abysmal. The representative we dealt with was rude, unprofessional, and seemed to have zero interest in actually helping us. We were promised that the golf cart would be ready to rent right away, but instead we were left waiting for nearly half an hour just to receive the necessary documents. To make matters worse, when we asked why we had been misled, the representative simply brushed us off and told us that if we didn't like it, we could have our money back.

That's not acceptable. When you run a business, you have an obligation to treat your customers with respect and give them the service that they deserve. Catalina Island Golf Cart Rentals failed miserably in this regard. Not only did we waste a significant amount of time simply trying to rent a cart, but we were treated like dirt in the process.

If you're considering renting a golf cart on Catalina Island, I implore you to look elsewhere. Do not waste your time or money with this terrible excuse for a rental company. The staff are unhelpful, the service is slow and unprofessional, and the entire experience is a complete waste of time. Stay as far away from Catalina Island Golf Cart Rentals as possible.

Amazing place. They had rentals available and they are decently priced. No price Gouchers here. You also only pay for what you use! If you go for an hour and 17 mins, you only pay for an hour and 17 minutes. Also, we majorly screwed up our booking. We booked for the wrong date thinking we did it correctly. We got there and paid for the wrong one. They still refunded us:) and got us on a cart. Amazing company I'd do it again.

Process went very smoothly. Neat way to see the area around Avalon. Our only critique is the cash deposit - keeping a driver's license or credit card deposit would be more convenient, as most people don't carry cash on them.

Rent a golf cart and do a 1 or 2 hour self-guided tour. Its a great way to see parts of thei island.
