Casa de la Condesa Restaurant reviews
14 On my vacation in San Francisco I want to try some good Mexican food. I decided to come here because the reviews of the Puffy Taco looked good! It was a little bit hard to find the restaurant. And of course parking is always hard. We waited a little bit longer than usual but it was worth it!
The food was really good! The chips were really crunchy, They did need more salt. The guacamole was tasty. The Puffy Taco was awesome! Super big and crunchy! I loved it so much! It was one of my favorite foods I had in San Francisco. I got it with chicken which was really great, next time I would try carne asada. We also love the Birria taco.
Great flavors and the people incharge are very easy-going. The best breakfast I ever try in the mission.
Wow we goofed and initially ordered the birria tacos. The puffy tacos here are the CLEAR winner. Don’t make the same mistake we did and go straight for the puffy tacos. Think Taco Bell chalupa but way way better, sooo gooood
Crispy puffy tacos. Perfect balance of meats & veggies. Always happy after a meal here. The restaurant is small with minimal-none decor, but always clean & the foods are delicious. The foods are best to eat right away so highly recommend dine-in.
Just changed my one star to five start review for the great business attitude of Carlos, the person and worker, who manages the place.
He Owned the mistake took place immediately the information got to him, I really appreciate it, and not just refund my order, but went further and refunded my lyft I took by sending me, not my first at this place, California burrito, the exact one I came back for at the first place. It took half hour from the first review to the replacement been delivered. It's just me who just clocked out and gave time to write. I appreciate your business and efforts. Will definitely keep supporting and spreading good word. Thank you, it was delicious!
They have some of the best birria in the bay haven’t tasted birria this good since ages. I got a very large order and they got everything right. I pretty much got everything with birria in it and it all tasted so good and beefy especially with consome.
Food was delicious ordered ahead of time through their square website and it was made perfectly at the time we got there just amazing since we are always try to arrive ahead of time. Tried there Torta cubana and I’ll tell you what that was one of the best Torta cubanas that I have had in the whole city it was so big that it will probably last me until tomorrow. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating that it felt like I was at home. Thank you Casa De La Condesa.
The reviews on here have got to be as fake as cubic zirconia because ain’t no way… Today I purchased some birria tacos from this establishment and yeah, no… heck no. They were soggy as a matter of fact, they were not cooked all the way (and NO, I did not “request” some soggy undercooked tacos). That tortilla is way too big for that little bit of filling and the tortillas were very bland. The birria was super dry (like sitting out all day dry) and did not have any flavor, and there was not a lot of cilantro or onions in the tacos. The only thing that had any flavor was the consommé but that was “salt and pepper” bland too (no depth). I paid a pretty penny for some very tacky, passionless, loveless, sad, and tired tacos.
An excellent place; the birria de res is delicious - so flavorful with tender, well-stewed beef - one of the best I have had so far.
I wish I had taken a pic, bur I ate most of it before I realized I hadn’t taken one.
We were looking for birria tacos and randomly found this place in the Mission. And what a find it is! Their quesabirrias, made with handmade tortillas drenched in consomme before hitting the grill, are flavorful and crispy, and they come with the consomme for you to dip into even more of that tasty, beefy goodness. We were then surprised by the absolutely delightful puffy tacos (a San Antonio specialty, according to the menu) ; these savory, sizeable, crunchy tacos, which can be filled with birria, ground beef, or chicken, were fantastic and became an instant favorite. For years, I walked by this restaurant so many times without ever realizing how fantastic it is because it just looks like your everyday hole in the wall. Don't make that same mistake. Do yourself a favor and give this place a shot, and make sure to eat everything as fresh from the kitchen as possible!
Best Mexican food in San Francisco I’ve had so far. I was born and raised in Mexico City and the food feels so authentic and it’s so delicious. Absolutely recommend this place.
NIOSA - Night in ol' San Antonio! House/pet sitting in SF, was surprised to find San Antonio puffy tacos! Love these from when I lived in SA-TX for 3 years back in the 1990s. The puffy shells were slightly over-cooked, but still tasty. The picadillo and fillings very delicious. Rice and beans were excellent, not over salted. My second time having them and will always get them whenever in SF.
Wow.me and my roommates LOVED the birria tacos.so crispy and delicious and came still hot.also, quite the helping of chips and guac for only $5!
love this place!
It was okay. Likely not the best place in the area. The rice was really good. And the pork taco I had was really good. But the steak and chicken taco was not the best. My 3 friends felt the same (had a quesadilla and enchiladas). Heads up too that it's quite cold.
