My experience at Casa Recovery has been life changing! When I entered this program I had low self esteem, I was unsure of myself, depressed & 45 days sober. Since my time here, I have learned to smile again, laugh and I’m beginning to fall in love with life again as well as myself. I feel none of this would’ve been possible without the care & encouragement of my clinical team and support staff! The different psychoeducation & holistic groups taught me coping skills and how to practice mindfulness. My favorite group was art therapy where I leaned to express my many emotions through art projects. Also my Therapist Dan & caseworker Sarah they helped me to believe in myself and provided me so many positive coping skills. The nurse Jeannie went above and beyond for my medical needs as well! I can go on and on. There isn’t a perfect recovery program but this place is close!
Today, I am 105 days sober, I believe in myself and so ready to face the challenges of life! Thank you Casa Recovery staff!

I have nothing but great things to say about Casa Recovery. After initially checking into another PHP I did not have a good feeling and sought out a better fit. From the very start, Sean, the CEO/Director of Admissions was extremely empathetic, informative, and helpful. Day one the entire staff was welcoming and supportive of the journey which I had embarked upon. Casa Recovery provides multiple types of therapies (CBT, EMDR, etc.) group work (workshops, art therapy, equine therapy, etc.) and holistic practices (breath work, yoga, reiki, meditation, massage). From the support staff to the therapists Casa Recovery covers the clients needs at every turn.

Staff was so engaged from the moment my son got there. Staff is exceptional in working with client needs and encourage family communication. We are so grateful for all their loving care and help in serving/meeting the needs of my son and those in need. Thank you Casa Recovery Staff! Grateful you were an exceptional part of our son’s journey to recovery.

I am so grateful for Casa Recovery. This is a place that truly cares about its people both staff and patients. I came from Sierra Tucson residential and I got so much out of this. I could not have imagined being in as good of a place as I am in now before actually coming. The facility itself and the houses are clean and well kept. I was treated with kindness from beginning to end and I cannot recommend this program more. The therapists are truly trauma informed, wise, empathetic, and intelligent. If you’re on the fence, take this as your sign to go for it.

Amazing experience! This place saved my life. It’s my second time in treatment and this one will stick. I highly recommend Casa to anyone struggling. I never knew I could be this confident in recovery.

In some ways, Casa Recovery - and likely any treatment facility - is a “you get out what you put in” type of place. For those who show up ready to talk, to listen, to journal, to try new things and leave no stone unturned, there can certainly be immense therapeutic benefits. The work must come from an internal place.

That being said, the people running the program also have a large impact on a patient’s day-to-day experience. In my two months of recovery at Casa, one case manager left, two new ones joined, and one therapist position was filled by three different people. I was fortunate enough to have a consistent relationship with my therapist for the whole duration, but other patients I know were handed off to two or three different therapists within a matter of weeks. That type of turnover can be really hard for anyone, but especially for someone who is seeking intensive care and putting a lot of trust into a clinical team.

One area of my experience that felt lacking was communication from the clinical team. At the beginning, my wife and I heard language like “30 days” and “one month or 4 weeks. ” So after a month, we were surprised to start hearing language like “6 to 8 weeks is the average time. ” Nobody seemed apologetic about a miscommunication, only blamed us for misunderstanding. My wife was also assured she would receive weekly updates from a therapist and a case manager, but those teetered off after the first couple of weeks, and sometimes were just texts or scheduling questions, rather than helpful insights. I felt like I had to fight and advocate for my family to be included in the recovery process, rather than the team following through on that. A bottom line there is that if you advocate for yourself and speak your needs, they will do their best to make it happen. Unfortunately, most people who end up in a treatment facility aren’t fully aware of their needs or how to ask for them. I certainly felt like that when I started out.

Overall, my experience was great and definitely beneficial to my mental health, but the perspectives I saw from many other patients and the ever-fluctuating staff compel me to take a star off the rating. Thank you Casa!

My daughter died within two weeks of leaving this program. She died from a combination of methadone alcohol and an anti-seizure medication prescribed by a doctor at CASA that made the interaction with the alcohol and the methadone fatal.

This small family program is all about the money and once the money was gone they were done with her. What kind of doctor would prescribe a medication that has known interactions with a drug that lots of his patients abuse?

As with any experience, there are lots of great people there just like anywhere, but the overall program in my opinion is inadequate and they do not disclose situation’s that could be life-threatening. If I would’ve been able to read a review like this I would’ve never had my daughter go to CASA.

Now that my daughter is dead, they have been very reluctant about releasing any records relating directly to her treatment, and I find that very disingenuous…

I can’t express enough gratitude for the exceptional care and support that my daughter received at Casa recovery. My daughter was greeted with warmth, understanding and a genuine commitment to her well being. The staff created a nurturing and inclusive environment ensuring that my daughter felt safe and comfortable throughout her stay. What really impressed me was the expertise and dedication of the staff. Everyone demonstrated an exceptional level of professionalism and compassion. They took the time to understand my daughter’s unique needs, listen to her and develop a personalized treatment plan. The therapy sessions that included me were insightful, helped me and her to come to terms with her traumas and gave strategies to help her build resilience and coping skills. Communication was also good. Her case manager Cristy and therapist Michael kept me informed about my daughter’s progress and struggles, ensuring that I was involved in her care through the whole process.they were always available to answer questions, provide guidance and provide guidance and offer emotional support to my daughter and me. My daughter’s time at Casa Recovery allowed her to heal, grow and try to regain control of her life. I wholeheartedly recommend this facility to any parent seeking a compassionate, and effective mental health care facility. Thank you so much to everyone at Casa Recovery for making a positive impact on my daughter’s recovery and wellness.

I would not trust this place with a ham sandwich let alone a vulnerable human beings life. The clinical Director is an angry woman, but extremely tolerant, until she decides not to be, and then projects onto others what she probably personally has going on herself. The staff must then reflect the reality that she’s in charge. I was at CAPO CANYON for well over a month after experiencing an assault and had developed a chronic trauma response as well as a relapse on drugs/alcohol. I was ready to go to PHP here until I was berated in front of a zoom panel of nine people where a very INCORRECT personal diagnosis was shrieked at me on that panel by the clinical director before I’d gotten a word regarding it’s possibility myself. And the diagnosis turned out to be incorrect - confirmed by the same medical/psychiatric staff used at this recovery center/CASA at the next facility I went where she was also the main psychiatrist in charge. In fact that psychiatrist is horrified that what happened to me happened to me. Needless to say I did not do the PHP program here but transferred to Lido Wellness immediately after I felt the terror of unsafe surroundings again at the actions of someone horrifyingly angry and abusive.

I went to this place for trauma and PTSD, and left with more trauma than walking in with, and a broken heart. Treatment doesn’t act like they have any idea or info about what it looks like to treat patients with actual PTSD.

Please, go to Lido Wellness if you’re actually dual diagnoses.

UPDATE: I’ve been at Lido Wellness in Newport Beach for almost 4 months and they have saved my life, my soul, my heart. Capo Canyon should be shut down for their misdiagnosis, beratement and for handling patients so carelessly. I don’t care about Capo, I’m alive again, and safe. Surrounded by an incredible clinical support team and amazing recovery community. Please please please don’t make the mistake of going to Capo. They don’t care about your recovery. I cannot believe the miracles happening at Lido Wellness.

My 5 star rating is for Laura.my family member's therapist. Laura is a prime example of. "the difference one person can make ". She is thoughtful, kind, intuitive, non-judgmental.just to name a few qualities. Her touch left my family member much more grounded. I truly wish that we had the opportunity to have more time with her.

If I could give 6 stars, I would! The Casa program and their amazing staff helped me get to the root cause of why I used alcohol even though I did not want to. For many years I watched my life collapse hopelessly while trying numerous ways to stop drinking. Failure to do so cost me everyone and everything I cared about. It wasn’t until deeper rooted core issues such as anxiety, depression and PTSD were addressed and treated at Casa, that I was able to understand why I would drink against my will regardless of unbearable consequences.
I thank God for guiding me and using this caring and competent facility to regain sobriety, hope, tools and support, to continue this beautiful journey. A happy, healthy, purposeful, Godly and sober life is what I’m living today. Before Casa, this was but a fantasy.
