Charming little establishment in Downtown LA, with a welcoming atmosphere, Moroccan themed decor and gracious hosts. The belly dancers work their magic through the dining area at roughly 8pm, inviting guests to a brief instruction in Moroccan dance-a little extra touch, though not entirely unwelcome.

One thing you want to know is that the weekend has a prefixe menu only. I wasn't expecting a prefixe menu and wasn't told about it when making a reservation, so you may want to call ahead and get the weekend's menu.

My prefixe choice was the "meat lover", featuring the Lamb Honey Tangine. My starter included a beet and feta salad-I was very surprised and delighted by the taste. I was neutral on beets-don't like or dislike - but this starter has changed my mind. The chicken pastilla came next, before the entree. I liked the flakey and crunchy outer layer-almost like a croissant. Within it is a sweet filling with baked chicken. The filling was sweet with notes of cinnamon and sugar, but also served to envelope the chicken. The pastilla was very sweet, which I wasn't thrilled about, but it warms you up to try the equally sweet Honey Lamb next.

The entree lamb meat was tender and juicy, with flanks of meat easily and lazily falling aside with a gentle swipe of your fork. The Lamb tasted very sweet, maybe too sweet for some. I'd certainly would have wanted less sweet, and more of a meat and herbs flavor. Potentially you could even say that you got an entree and dessert in one plate combined.

This was a wonderful dining experience. The food was amazing, as was the welcoming owner who made sure we were having a lovely time. Get the Moroccan mint tea! So unique and delicious.

I had such high hopes…! French Moroccan person commenting here… The couscous had no seasoning at-all! No salt, no ras el-hanout, no nothing. It tasted like unseasoned chicken soup broth: (the meat they added was cooked in tagine, not meant to eat with couscous, it was two completely different tastes that did not go together at all. I am not sure if I got very unlucky and my order was messed up, but I am very disappointed.

Go to Moun Of Tunis (love them, owned by a hard working Tunisian family) or Tagine instead!

Amazing Moroccan food in the heart of Los Angeles, a must try. The Moroccan tea, Zaalok and lamb tajine was delicious.

What an amazing gem this Moroccan restaurant is! The staff is super friendly and the food is delicious. Tasting the first bite of the chicken tagine instantly brought me back to Marrakech! The beet salad is wonderful, as was the Zaalook!

I can definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes Moroccan / Berber food and will be going back myself too!

The weekend had a very limited menu. Servers were very pleasant and helpful, even with a very picky group. The dining room is very nice in the back. It's a bit deceiving when you walk through the takeout area and kitchen.

Never been to a restaurant were both on the phone in advance, and in person, the owners and staff treated us like family! It was wonderful to be so welcomed and talked to.
And the food was delicious - the chicken pastilla was so crisp, light and delicious. And the honey lamb tangine was also delicious and good to go with couscous. I was wiping the bowl with my finger to get all of the flavorful sauce.
Also the appetizer breads, olives and oil & balsamic dip was so good we had to have 2ds & 3ds - wonderful taste.:
And desert was 3 items we shared, all delicious: 3 types of cookies, cheesecake, & chocolate mousse pie.
The atmosphere was great, as u entered by the kitchen smelling the seasonings. Then the different areas to sit - and you could talk and hear yourself as sound didn’t bounce around hard walls and nice background music was low.
Truly a relaxing, comfortable and delicious way to go for dinner!:

Amazing food and lovely atmosphere! We went a little early on a Saturday night, so for some time we were the only ones there besides one other couple. Great music and set-up. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the meat lover's 3-course meal with chicken tagine and honey lamb tagine. The harissa was amazing; we wanted to buy a jar of it! The tagines were great and the chicken pastilla was perfect. It is rare to find a Moroccan restaurant in America with really good food; Moroccan restaurants in Seattle are bland and disappointing. I grew up with Moroccan food as my grandmother is from Morocco. This is the first restaurant I've tried that had food as flavorful as her food!

I went here for my husbands birthday and I couldn't have picked a more romantic beautiful place. The service was honestly one of the best services I've ever had. Anis wife made us feel so comfortable when we had questions about the menu. The food was so flavorful! We got the couscous Royal that had chicken, lamb, kefta, and merguez. It was so big, we got to take some home!

The 4.8 star rating is heavily exaggerated. Came here for my cousin’s birthday with confidence that it would be good food, but left highly disappointed. The service and staff were very friendly though.
