We had cannelloni and duck leg confit for dinner. Cannelloni was fine. Confit tasted good. However, the duck leg was not soft. The wines were excellent.

The food is good and honest. The hospitality is gratifying. They want you to have a good time. The Wine cellar is massive. It is another pet-friendly venue. It is also far enough from Ocean Avenue as to ocassionaly have some on-street parking. The menu is not particularly extensive. They - like many restaurants in Carmel - seem to concentrate on doing a few things well and some excellently (try the Duck Confit).

My favorite over there is the braised beef Cannelloni.
Unique dining experience in the Carmel by the sea. Great food and nice ambiance. Their service is great too. Love their decorations. They have really good wine selection.
It is a quiet and romantic restaurant. It's a must in the Carmel by the sea. Don't forget to try their delicious desserts.

3 star.

Food was not bad, but not great either. For $100 per person, I would expect more.

Beef Tartare - good.
Lamb - good, but plating.be more aesthetic please.
Seafood Linguine - mediocre and the flavor was a bit too sour.
Desert was a disaster, the basque cheese cake was terrible - you could get it from any grocery store.

My boyfriend and I eat out quite a lot. Casanova provided one of the best meals and service that we have had. We started with Astra Sour Dough with Aged Cultured Butter, Spinach Gnocchi Au Gratin, and Steak Tartare: Wagyu Ribeye, Pickled Green Tomato, Shallot, Cornichon. All completely melt in your mouth starters. My boyfriend devoured his Duck Leg Confit: lentils, chicory, seasonal mushrooms and I stuffed myself full with the Cannelloni: Braised Beef, mozzarella, Truffle, Tomato sauce. We barely managed to fit in dessert but the Chocolate tart: chocolate sabayon, crème fraiche was amazing. We were getting full while eating but it was so good we kept going. Needless to say we ended up going back to the hotel room in a food coma! That is how you should feel after having an incredibly cooked meal. Props to the chefs. This is a great place for a romantic dinner as well as a group dinner. Their wine list is extensive. The service was excellent. The manager Christina was spot on. Her recommendations and knowledge of the restaurant and food really made our experience memorable. Our server was very attentive and service was very prompt. We left feeling special and will certainly return next time we visit town. We highly recommend Casanova.

Intimate and cozy setting. Food was good but not great. Pricey and kind of felt rushed as in/out for dinner in 1 hour.

We had an amazing, romantic dinner here! This is a great place for a special occasion. The atmosphere is fantastic and I am so thrilled they were able to seat us at the table with a tree growing through it. The food and wine were delicious and the service was great. Thank you Casanova for making our celebration so special!

Absolutely amazing. Don't go without getting the bread service. One of my favorite touches is when a restaurant heats the entree plates, which they do. I had the lamb and my wife had the duck. The service was impeccable. The restaurant makes you feel like you're in Europe. Love love love this place.

If I could give this establishment and its management 100 more stars I would! My husband and I were visiting California from PA and just happened to be walking down the street in Carmel looking for a public restroom when we actually ran into a man named Walter, who we later found out was Casanova’s owner, walking down the street and asked if we needed directions. We started talking to Walter about our trip and our backgrounds, and he invited us for a tour of his beautiful restaurant. We had such a wonderful conversation with him and then we were blown away when he surprised us by so graciously having a table set up for us with the most delicious food and wine, free of charge because he knew we were traveling on a budget from so far away. It was the most kind and generous gesture as this was before peak hours on a Saturday afternoon in his very charming, popular and historic establishment. Walter has such an incredible personal history and his restaurant does as well! Amazing food and wine in an amazing atmosphere with even more incredible management. Please make this a stop if you are ever visiting the area! Thank you Walter and Casanova family for being the highlight of our vacation:)

Yum! Best meal we had on the trip. Kind of gave us stomach aches, so I took off one star. The beef was a bit too much for us to handle. I would order a vegetarian dish.

I had the morel mushroom pasta special, and it was outstanding. I ate all of it, that’s how good it was. Their bread was also super delicious. My husband ordered the cannelloni with beef, which we think is what gave us some stomach woe

It was my husband’s birthday, and they gave us a bit of champagne to celebrate. Definitely a unique touch that I haven’t seen before. Service and ambience was incredible. Highly recommend.

Fabulous food in a unique venue that combines indoor and outdoor spaces. Originally a house that was converted and expanded. Fabulous very big but pricey wine list. A modest menu at reasonable prices, but everything we ordered was excellent.

Food was great and the room we dined in was quite interesting-it was almost like a covered patio.

Food was good but not perfect. My fiancee got the lamb and it was very fatty. We would recommend the Gnocchi appetizer, although it was quite small.

Casanova is Carmel's most unique dining experience. They have a Fascinating story of a table that most likely they go and dined at. The food is very nice and the customer service experience was excellent!

We liked this place, but didn't love it. My lamb was over cooked, and my wife's Canaloni was fair. Kind of scruffy, Italian motif, which was fine, but could use a power wash on the see-through roof. $7 for bread. Better places in Carmel. Good service.

I love the atmosphere there! The best place for relaxing conversations! The food was delicious! Try duck here! They have a whole book of wines to choose from! There is one minus though. The majority of the positions are tiny)

Great place, last time I went in December of 2021 the menu was a bit limited, but want to go back soon as it’s always been a favorite
