Cassell's Hamburgers reviews
15The place is a throwback to your old school American road side diner. It has chill cool vibes, local Ktown regs and simple American Classic food. The service can be a little spotty at times but you get what you pay for sometimes. Still good value and a great place to grab a bit or HH cocktail.
I always pass by this place and wanna go in and apparently a lot of people I know say the same. Eating there felt like I was in a bubble, separate from the bustle of the city. The decor is super vintage, maybe a bit too much because my old wooden chair was a bit wobbly.
They have a lot of tantalizing options on the menu but I decided on the 1/4 cheeseburger, potato salad, and the cherry coke. They asked me how I want the burger and I told them medium rare. I feel like you should always go for that if they ask. The burger came out more rare, but I personally don’t mind. Check out the picture for reference. It still tasted amazing. You could definitely taste the char and the pepper in the beef. Maybe there was too much lettuce for the slightly small burger. The potato salad was also very flavorful and they give you a lot.
The service was also great. All the servers who helped me were very nice. I had a few questions about the menu and they were happy to answer all of them. I will definitely come again!
Excellent burger joint.
Vintage interior, excellent vibe! I suggest you visit at least once if you’re in town. I really like their onion rings and the Dulce de leche banana cream pie. Their happy hours are nice as well. Cassells Burger is a one stop where you can get breakfast or lunch. They also have above average coffee bar!
It was my third time trying the Patty Melt. It is good but I can’t say it’s the best I’d ever had. Great milk shake and also their Bottled Mexican coke/sprite is great! When ordering your burger, get medium done if you like it juicy! It’s a good burger, tad overpriced. Not the best in LA but still very good option when you’re in LA.
Super happy for our last meal in LA at the foot of the hotel. Quick order and above all very qualitative by taking away. Top notch burgers
Super caring staff - hugely rare in casual dining LA. Also the owners actually put thought into their product. Recycled paper for their napkins, wooden stir sticks, and they're moving to paper straws. Something I am more and more aware of these days. And oh yeah, the eggs over easy with toast was exactly what I was looking for, and the jam was delish, either homemade or from a specialty company. It's the little things that make this my regular breakfast diner from now on. If you are lucky enough to have Erin serve you then it's your lucky day. Thanks for being awesome Cassells!
- forgot to mention they have a full bar. Blantons, Bakers, Hendricks, Ford's, Fernet.yes please
I had the classic 1/3 Burger, It is served a Burger with a Bun With French fries.
Then all the condiments are on the side lettuce, Tomatoes onions Pickles and 1000 island Sauce. Plus you have ketchup and mustard salt and pepper on the table. I usually have lemonade but they ran out that day. Also I didn't order dessert this time. They mostly have pies
The meal was great.

Lots of energy when it’s busy, and you’ll love the quality of everything on the menu. Try a beer on tap…so good.
This was my absolute favorite restaurant in LA when I visited. I had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here and every single thing was delicious. The service was extremely prompt and friendly. The vibes were chill and calm. The lemonade and milkshakes were top notch. We were in LA visiting family and our secret burgers when everyone else was resting saved my sanity. I’d come back to Hotel Normandie just to be near Cassell’s again.
Everything is good here. We hit this spot whenever we are in L. A.and it’s always worth the wait, the drive, whatever. So tasty!
Busy lunchtime spot with juicy burgers and fries. There's more to the menu than hamburgers so check out the menu. Convenient ordering online as well. Located at Hotel Normandie.
I love cassells and feel i owe them a 5 star review. Even though I always get the same thing when I go, I have truly found my favorite items. Their quality is superb for great American classics and they use top quality ingredients. I am a huge fan of their tuna melt and never get tired of it, best tuna melt in town. Every time I go I am thoroughly satisfied. I’ve tried some other things on the menu but the tuna melt has my heart, I get it with a side of sweet potato fries. I also used to love their banana cream pie but I don’t think they have the same person who used to make their pies anymore. I really miss that banana cream pie, it was the best I ever had lol. From time to time I’ll get a milkshake and add a malt, also amazing. I have nothing bad to say about cassells and am loyal til the end! Staff is always kind and friendly and down to earth. Keep doing what you do cassells!
To us: got classic and melt. It was good.
To others: the melt has a little cheese part included. That was so good. I would also recommend getting the regular sauce that comes with the menu.
To owners: . Please change tip options.my thanks to Nina for great service!
Came here with a colleague for lunch. Drive by it when I go to work. This place is very nostalgic. They have housemaid flavor sodas, which I must say the cherry Coke is so yummy and they put a marinated cherry on the side.
Service is fast and good. I had the onion soup and the fried chicken sandwich with coleslaw. My colleague had a cheeseburger with egg on top, sweet potato, waffle, fries, and a vanilla Coke. This is a definite must have. Will be returning.
Cassell's has that old school childhood taste for burgers and shakes. Everything is great from the service to the food. Always great whenever I frequent. You're never disappointed.
The breakfast burger is my go to and the patty melt is also excellent.
Loved it! Amazing service, the food is very good, and that French toast especially is to die for also cute guys come here often
