Restaurant Cassia reviews
18Amazing spot that's maybe a little too expensive, but that's to be expected for Santa Monica. Lamb breast and Kon Loh Mee were excellent and the chickpea curry was a great starter. If there's anything you should always get, it has to be the amazing Kaya Toast.
Food is amazing! Like I've never tasted before. Family style so portions are quite big. Indoor seating can be a bit loud-we ate outside.much quieter great experience.will be back.
The place is lovely and the food they serve was really good. It was freshly cooked. Friendly staff as well.
500 bill for 8 people and we didn't even get drinks.ridiculously over priced for average food
Wow the food at this restaurant was spectacular. The smoked crab claws were unlike anything I have ever experienced. The fried rice was so full of herbs and unusual flavors it was amazing. Truly I dine out a lot but cannot think of other restaurants that have so many interesting flavors in the food. I was visiting from out of town but cannot wait to be back in LA to return!
I really like this place. I was skeptical, but it tasted really good. Service was nice too. I took away one star because this place is pricey. However, I’m definitely going back to Cassia soon!
The Kaya Toast here was PHENOMENAL! A must try dish that is worth it. All the other dishes were very well prepared and delicious too. Some other highlights were the Dan Dan noodles and the chickpea dip. The service too was wonderful with our waitress and hostess being very accommodating to our needs. You must come here.
The food here is good but a $29.75 for a tiny cup of chick pea curry and $54 for a fish is insane. It’s totally not worth the price.
Wow. Order the Duck Dan dan noodles. Just do it. Vegetarian friendly - I came with a group of five, and everyone of us was vegetarian but me so I ordered the duck noodles for myself but other than that enjoyed a full dinner of Asian fusion vegetable dishes. Amazing cocktails, cute interior.
We ordered sweet potato, broccoli, Kaya toast, scallion bread, green papaya salad, vegetarian fried rice. All very good, especially Papaya salad. Kaya toast is interesting, not something I’ve tried before.
Cassia has a special menu a mix between Mediterranean and Asian food, simple delicious and some of them spicy. Enjoy!
I think this is a wonderful restaurant, the food is very good and the service exceptional. It is pricey and sometimes the staff was too eager to clear plates, hovering over our table every couple of minutes or so. But for a memorable dining experience I really recommend this place!
This is a beautiful restaurant with a wonderful and caring staff. The food was divine, and well-thought-out wine pairings really made the night special.
We had a wonderful dinner for 16 people in the Wine Room recently and would highly recommend the experience! The menu had an fantastic variety, the family style service brought people together and Jessica our server was excellent! Nan on the event team was great to work with in the lead up to the event to ensure everything went smoothly. If you need a location for a large group in Santa Monica Cassia is the spot!
Each dish was superb - delightful surprising and bold flavors. We got: prawns, wontons, caesar salad, beef rendang, and duck dan dan noodles. Can’t wait to go back.
Incredible fusion of flavors. Loved sitting at the bar / chef's counter. Cool to see everything happening over the grill. It's a modern, lively space. Will definitely be back.
Nope nope nope. Made a reservation, got seated late. Waited for 10-15 minutes. We were informed of how we had to order rather than given any empathy for our wait. So many places have great food. When service is this bad, I’m out.
Everything was pretty good except papaya salad and the noodles. I wish papaya salad was cut in smaller and had more flavors and ingredients, smaller portions. Taste wasn’t so good. Also I wanted noodle to be more harder. It was too soft. Their curry and pita bread was amazing, spicy wontons were good, and seafood platters were great too.
I don’t like any restaurants that are only “for profit” and trying to transfer the employee benefits burden directly to the customers. The servers are YOUR employees. They do not work for us. So why do we, the customers, need to pay for server’s medical insurance while it is actually your responsibility as the boss, as the employer?
Anyway, enough of the capitalistic dark side. The taste of the restaurant is also not worth the price. We ordered the la chang fried rice and Dan Dan noodle. Both of them are EXTREMELY salty. The ground meat in Dan Dan noodle is over marinated and for the fried rice, because the ham inside is already seasoned, an experienced cook should have known to not add too much salt in the rice.
I would not recommend this restaurant.
