Castañeda Mexican Food reviews
9I gave it a second chance, the first time it wasnt really the best. I had the hot cheeto burrito and it was pretty tasty. I'd recommend their burritos, they're pretty good with a side of rice and beans. I'm not sure about the rest of the menu.
The food here isn't bad!
The price is a little up there though and the server I had today was very out if it, missing a few items on my order. It was okay though and was a relatively easy fix.
I recommend the burritos, they're pretty good!
The beans taste like vinegar which is very unappealing. The chicken was hard little rocks though it was before 12: 00 so probably from being cooked the day before. So not the same quality as the chain in Palm Springs because of need for preserving the food over time
Food was actually tasteless. Didn't know that was possible. Service was great. Give it a pass.
Absolute worst. I order a breakfast burrito. 3 people in restaurant already eating. Place empty. 20 minutes go by no food. I ask the older woman at counter who took order about it and she said these things take time. Carne asada being made. I wait another 17 minutes and then out of frustration ask for my money back. She said for what? You already eat. Literally her and I only people in the restaurant. She had taken my order and answered follow up. Her younger coworkers had arrived to work by that point. They refunded my money. No apologies. Nothing. Zero stars if I could.
Good food and you can find decent low and high priced items but the wait time is unbearable
Like 45 min drive through wait times with 5 ppl leaving the wait line
Update: after many more visits I can safely update my review. The food flavor has improved. We really enjoy the rolled tacos and the chicken quesadilla the most. Unfortunately the wait times are the same. You wait 30-45 min for your food sometimes. They are severely understaffed. The problem and the main reason for the 2 star rating is the service. We mainly do drive thru and they typically get something wrong in your order. Maybe they miss when you say 2 and only give you 1 of something. Maybe they don't include cheese on something that obviously has cheese. Maybe they don't give you x item and you really miss out on it but they usually always get something wrong and it's very frustrating.
Their prices just keep going up and up, one of my favorites is the bean and cheese burrito that I have them add rice and it's over $7 dollars, and it's noticeable y smaller!
Don't be in a rush while going here, the wait for anything is ridiculously long for overpriced food that was probably prepared wrong. Every time I've unfortunately gone, they've been fixing at least one order they messed up. My picture is of fully loaded carne asada fries, after which I had to get tested for COVID because they were so flavorless.
But the portions are sizeable.
