Castro Valley Marketplace reviews

This place was amazing. It was a unique space that gave a platform to a variety of local small business owners and restaurants. The Cannery and Oculto were great places to share a meal with friends and family, and a much needed addition to the area.
Over the last year, it seems the priorities and purpose of this space have shifted. Oakland Spice Shop, Oculto, the Cannery, and the Vietnamese restaurant nextdoor all disappeared overnight. A Bearded Papas was brought in, and the local rumor mill says folks got pushed out to make space for more commercial businesses.
Really bummed about the direction ownership has taken this space.
Great place for getting fresh groceries. They have fresh bread and other bakery items. Similarly, they have a meat market to serve fresh meat.
One stop for baked goods, fresh sushi, fish, meat, poultry, bulk olive oil, groceries etc. Lots of organic choices too.
Excellent place you can get groceries or a bite to eat there is a deli or upstairs there is a couple of very nice restraurants serving some good eats
Like a high-end "Whole Foods" Market before Amazon took over, local products and produce, good butcher shop, nice wine shop, bakery and sushi bar, a great Central American restaurant up stairs (The roast chicken and potato brava are to die for!), sandwich and beer bar down stairs, pizza parlor upstairs, live music in the evenings, other miscellaneous shops, a very pleasant place to shop for the home market.
Some expensive cured bacon at Barron's Butcher and wicked donuts at seven hills. Lots of parking out back.
If opportunity arises, drop into CV Marketplace.especially Oculto restaurant on the second floor.excellent menu with a variety of wines and cocktails and attentive staff. Family friendly place but also good for couples and the lone ranger. Enjoy!
Loving having the Marketplace here! My butcher, baker, bee keeper, grocery store and delicious restaurants are all conveniently under one roof!
Great little shop space. Been there for over a year before i realized there was a upper floor and a basement.
Looked up.for fish, CV Marketplace was in 3rd position, went there, no fish, very expensive. Love the spices Shop.
Just because we’re in Castro Vakkey doesn’t mean we have money. Mark up on items over priced.
Really cool little market and some restaurants with nice outdoor seating. A wonderful addition to Castro Valley.
Although their beer selection was not as extensive as before I discovered they have a wine bar downstairs. There I found exactly what I was looking for.
Very needed place for the town. Different areas of food, rest and eat. Delicatessen stores of beverages and food.
Lovely place to shop for fresh pastries, breads, seasonings, oils, meat, grocery shop and to also eat outside in patio tables. Lovely place
I shop at Sprouts and Whole food often and was happy to see this market in my area. I did not have to drive far. I can walk here. I noticed if you're of a certain skin tone, the people here are not friendly at all. At 9: 58am I was helped by a person named Nate. Very very rude. She asked me if my card was a debit card. She did not ask if it was credit or debit. Very unfriendly and cold. I paid via AMEX. I hope it was good enough to shop there. I will not return and will post this on my vlog.
Very pleasant experience. Seemed like several small stores in a large structure. Among them: bakery, spirits, grocery/variety, meat market, herbs & spices, others.
A bit pricey, but I have never seen so many items and brands in this country I was unfamiliar with in one location. (Gourmands take note.)
