Cedar Inn & Suites, South Lake Tahoe CA

I rarely leave a bad reviews but I feel the need to say “spend the extra money and stay anywhere else”. We came here for our anniversary but this was the worst place we have ever stayed. The drawers would not close and all stayed open, the tv was crooked, the pillows had stains, the fridge did not work, the shower dripped all night, it had clearly not been cleaned; there were stickers on the tables and walls and hair on the walls, and there was a blinding light outside the door all night that the blinds didn’t stop so it was impossible to sleep. We have pretty low standards but I would never come back here.

We walked in to the suite, our children took off their shoes and after a half hour the bottom of their feet looked like they had tar on them. The floor was obviously filthy. There were no dish towels, cooking utensils, paper towels, and 3 dishes to use to eat. The sheets in the couch bed had been used, had no top sheet, blankets pillow cases. The bathroom sink and tub were not clean. Curtains were hanging off the rod. The owners are very nice, the pool and grass area are very nice. Jacuzzi is old and not kept clean. If you don't mind dirt and nothing in the kitchen to use it, along with possible dirty sheets. They need someone to inspect after the cleaners clean. It's not getting clean!

At first I was scared because I booked without seeing the comments of the place. I thought it would be bad for me, but not the price was right the receptionist was very kind our refrigerator didn't work so she brought us another one, she offered to change our room but you had already located us so she gave us a fridge. It is close to the beach, you can walk, it is also close to the casinos and the Mall. They gave us some passes to pay $5 per person on the beach because the entrance fee was $25. From my point of view, they took good care of us. The parking lot is large, we were in a trailer and it suited us because of the space we need. I would really stay there again.

Just the worst place I've ever stayed at. The pictures on their website are misleading, in my room there are NO side tables with lamps by the beds, no chair, no trash can in the entire room or bathroom. The "desk" drawers open themselves because they're broken, so they're in the way all day. The microwave is dirty and doesn't have a plate. Blankets have crusty stains on them, the entire room smells of old cigarette smoke, there is some kind of pet food kibble on the floor in the corner? ! Walls have holes in them, there's mold in the sink and on the shower curtain. The window screen is hanging on by a thread. Some of the conditioner bottles were half empty. We have to unplug the fridge in order to use one of the only two lights. Should I go on? I paid close to $700 for 4 nights at this "2 star" place. And they had the nerve to charge me a security deposit. What am I going to hurt? This room is already trash!

I really can say what a great location it’s is. It’s run by small family and they have great service and smile every time. I will be returning

These rooms are horrible in every way. $200 to sleep with bugs, get randomly scalded by the shower, have chairs but no table to sit at, hear every footstep above us, watch people walk by the door because they're windows.seriously $200 for 1 night in this terrible place.

I am J1 student and my shoe was stolen and I ask the front desk for video from the CCTV but he only said that he can’t not do anything with that can’t look the video and have to wait for the manager but the manager will come once a week and he didn’t know when he will come.

I came up here for the Nevada High School state Swimm meet. Stayed for 1 night. Worst night sleep that I have had in years. Room was dirty from the time I walked in the room. Found 2 open condom packs. 1 one laying on the floor under the bed. Black widow in the bathroom, dirty towels and sheets. Location is great, close to the lake. Tv works great, watched VGK win game 1. Overall experience " would have been better sleeping in my car".

Do not reserve this motel. It’s a miserable place. Priceline had it looking okay. It is a dump. The beds were old and sunk in, the heater stunk up the room. They charge 25 dollars to check in an hour early. The outside grounds are depressing and make you feel like your in a shelter yet they charge a RESORT FEE NOTHING about this place sais resort. We were afraid of getting bed bugs so we went to the Quality Inn. We had to forfeit the money but it was worth it. The thought of spending one night here was depressing. Normally I don’t write bad reviews. But I do not want people being tricked by what Priceline pictures look like Nor was the management company willing to work with me. Look before you book. There are places 20 dollars more that are well worth it

Do not stay here. I did not book this of my own accord, Expedia relocated me to this location when my previous booking fell through. The pictures from their website do not match in person - reference the photos in reviews. This place is disgusting and unkempt. Bed was made but there was hair in the "clean" bed sheets. Mattress had stains of unknown origins. There was trash and cleaning supplies left outside of rooms.

We promptly left and booked a separate same day stay.

You can't beat the price here! I really like the location. The king-size bed was clean and comfortable. Heater worked great.
On my last visit, Kuma the receptionist, was extremely helpful when I checked in. I appreciated the extra help he gave me during the check-in process. 5 star customer-service!

Also I forgot my charger in the room, and the other front desk staff called me back and said they have my charger for me to pick up next time I'm in Tahoe. Thank you for a great experience! I plan to go back.

I recently stayed at the Cedar Inn for a week and the staff was so friendly and accommodating! Vicky was outstanding and made sure all our needs where met during our stay. They are making improvements to the property daily. They just had the jacuzzi redone and have remolded the rooms, had new pavers put in the walkways and many other small improvements. After a week it started to feel like home there! Keep up the good work fellas! Thanks again!

This place is really bad.
1 star, because you cannot give a worse rating.
We booked here for 2 nights and couldn't stay beyond 1 night.
We booked a place with kitchen and nothing worked. The stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and oven all old and in non working condition. We lost 150$, no refunds.
Will not recommend to anyone, not even my boss.

Cedar Inn or whatever the name of the hotel is, Please do not bother to pretend to comment here and address my issues. You do not do anything. The place was bad, is bad and will always be bad.
I regret not having read the comments before booking. Assumed it to be good assuming the price was good. Dumb way of assessment, I know.

The room that was given to us looked like it was for transient housing. Room was dirty, sheets had cigarette burns, towels were dirty, tub was dirty, and door frame had pieces missing. The parking was also very bad. We could not park close to our room because it was just full off ice and snow.
