Cena Vegan - Mission reviews
17I’ve tried a lot of vegan food, this is by far the best vegan Mexican food I’ve had. Also, their family style meal is just amazing in general, I wish more places offered that!
I ordered nachos from here and I was really excited except the bowl was 90% meat and just a few chips so I ended up with a bowl of slop. Nachos should really be layered. There was so much meat and so few chips. All the chips are gone now and I have a bowl full of ingredients. So now I'm at home frying up tortillas myself to remake the nachos. I feel like it's so simple.balance out the chips with the ingredients so there's enough chips to finish dish.
Delicious Mexican vegan spot. The Barbacoa burrito has had me coming back for years. Nacho chips are also a must try.
If you’re a local vegan foodie, you must know Cena Vegan. Truly, the food is always amazing from the bowls to the tacos and so much more…
I first discovered Cena at a Vegan Pop Up and I am always looking forward to eating and sharing with their food!
I recommend Cena Vegan for all you non-vegan food eaters. You definitely would not be disappointed and will be happy to try Cena Vegan!
Service sucks. Take out only beside the seating that outside. I’m basing 2 stars on the food only. I can’t tell what meat is what meat. The “chicken” can be the “asada. ” I don’t know. The meats have a weird “gamey” taste. The rice and beans are for the birds. I did like the mushroom taco and the Jamaica. Surprising this place is popular. I’d say try it once and find out for yourself.
We got delivery from here. I would say the food does the job. We got tacos and a burrito. There was little flavor to the protein and likely can't stand on its own but adding salsa and topping made it better but felt more like a filler meal then something I would look forward to. All the menu items seem to the the exact same thing with a different base but maybe that is all mexican basics.
Everything in the menu is Vegan which makes this place a safe bet for both vegetarians and vegans. Food is delicious. Horchata is very good too. Prices a bit high. Takeout service is very fast, you can do it from your phone, and show up 10 - 15 mins later to pick up your order. Can it get any easier and faster than that?
This place is a gem. Ordered a takeout and it beat all expectations. Very tasty and healthy tasting. Best vegan spot in this area for sure
I was surprised how good this was since this was my first time trying my local vegan spot and my god You won’t regret trying this!
Fairly tasty food but I’ve gotta be honest - the ordering system is pretty complicated! There’s no sit down area and they don’t send you a text when your order is ready. You have to text them / check your order page once the food is ready.
Cena Vegan is a hidden gem in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles. This vegan Mexican restaurant serves up delicious Mexican. The tortas, burritos, and tacos are especially good. The prices are also very reasonable, and the service is friendly and attentive when you call in your order or pick up your food. My only complaint is that there is no physical location for dine in, so you can only order for takeout or delivery. However, the food is so good that it's worth the inconvenience. I highly recommend Cena Vegan to anyone looking for a great vegan Mexican meal.
I ordered the taco trio and had two barbacoa tacos and one carnitas including a birria taco a la carte. OMG best vegan taco and first since no longer eating meat. It was so satisfying. The portions are hearty and flavorful. I couldn't have asked for a better taco Friday. Will be ordering again soon. In the past I had nachos with asada and I didn't like the asada meat but I love the shredded meats.
Hands down best tacos I've had. Highly recommend this place! I drive 1 hour to get there and it's worth the trip. I like them better than the tacos I've had even before going vegan.
This is some good a$& vegan food! So much flavor, personalized delivery! And I live in Whittier!
They raised their prices. The vegan burrito went from $10 to $14 within a year! There's no reasonable justification for a 50% increase.
It's not a sit-down restaurant, although you can order in person if you happen to show up (and by phone for delivery or take out), however, the food is delicious and reminiscent of the traditional Mexican flavors that recall memories from childhood. It's not just good for being vegan food, it's good for being Mexican food that happens to be vegan.
While I’ve never been to the storefront, I’ve gone to dozens of vegan fests/events in various cities.
I live in lower Orange County so the drive to LA for anything is usually a trip on its own, so I unfortunately can’t speak to any differences there may be between tent & storefront. However, almost every vegan event that I have gone to, I’ve gone purely because Cena was there…
The asada is soooo good!
The burritos are large, the salsas are tasty, and the tacos are addictive.
The only “meat” that hasn’t been a favourite in my household, is the Al Pastor. But that’s also something we essentially never get anywhere, so maybe it’s just not for us!
