Restaurant Cento reviews
14Food and service were great. I recommend the spicy pomodoro, Cesar gem, and carbonara. The waiter was great and friendly staff. Valet parking is available.
This is a minimalist place in decor. Staff were just ok, not really engaging. The lack of drinks options other than wine was disappointing. Pre-made drinks are a bartenders worse nightmare. Nice they want to make their own sparkling water but it should not be flat.
This place shines because of it's food. They have nailed it on all counts. I recommend their tasty farro salad, snap pea dish (seasonal), duck confit (best I've had), the banana tiramisu. Can't go wrong!
My friend & I like to course out our meals 1 by 1. This way we get to enjoy the meal in it's entirety & while hot. Our server acknowledged what we wanted but did things how he wanted instead. So, 2 by 2 they came.
Spectacular restaurant with a really vibrant energy! We ordered the hamachi, steak tartare, fried quail, octopus, spicy pomodoro, bolognese, and duck confit, and each was amazing! They have a really solid list of spanish wines which go great with their menu. And the staff was wonderful. Cannot recommend this place enough if you're in the LA area.
Some of the best pasta I have ever had in my life, the Spicy Pomodoro was life changingly good
Ate here for the first time and the food is freaking delicious. They have an awesome menu selection and the service staff are great too.
Amazing flavors, deliciously fresh pasta and incredible service. The decor is a clean white, marble aesthetic that sends focus and attention to the food. Fantastic service, warm and knowledgeable without being overbearing. They've made a nice atmosphere in a modest location with a beautiful tree as the centerpiece of the outdoor dining area.
Love this restaurant! The pastas were delicious and the banana tiramisu was out of this world! Will come back!
Very cozy and relaxing. Loved the food, delicious flavors. Definitely coming back for more. Oh, and the drinks,
The atmosphere and quality of the food here is really awesome. Was here for dinner with my family. My only issue is that it was very hard to find a vegan option. So hopefully they add more variety for that. Looking forward to dining here more often because it's so convenient that it's just a minute away from the wellness meditation center the Zula Den so now after a sound bath I have a spot to go for a fancy dinner to keep the good vibes going
One of the top dining experiences of Los Angeles, Cento Pasta Bar brings it all. While the menu may be concise, there are no wrong choices.
Centro delivers excellent service, creative dishes, and a thoughtful wine program.
It’s the nuances that separates Centro pasta from a great Italian restaurant to an excellent and memorable dining experience. Our server Jeffery, was thoughtful and seemed to always be 2 steps ahead. The table was properly reset between course, and we were guided to order the right amount of food.
The Pasta Bar, and Al Fresco table service each bring their own unique energies with equally great service. The Pasta Bar is brightly lit, and feels fast paced without the rush.al Fresco is romantic with outdoor white Christmas lights filling the space with enough soft lighting to make it easy to read the menu, but dim enough to feel relaxed and at ease.
Cento Pasta Bar is a great representation of what West Adams has to offer.
I found the pasta very underwhelming for a literal pasta bar. Flavors were mild and the carbonara was neither cheesy nor had enough pancetta. Duck confit was somehow dry and there's only like one Italian red wine in the whole menu. Imo not worth the hype. Also do NOT sit at the counter you might end up in a corner over the fire like we did.
I am a bit saddened writing this not too positive review but want to be honest.
Cento Bar definitely did not meet the expectations that we went with.
The moment we entered, we were wowed by the ambiance. It is definitely a great place for a date night. Beautiful setting and bright, romantic vibe.
But that is where the wow factor ended for us.
The food.well, it was good, beautifully presented but definitely not something to write home about. While the infamous pasta Pomodora was flavorful, it wasn't anything to rave about. The so-called mint sauce was bland and didn't add anything to the taste. In fact, half our party didn't even think that it was a good dish.
The Brocolli Buccatini was perhaps the best dish of the evening for me. It had a mild, sweet anchovy flavor, pasta was perfectly cooked and sauce well seasoned.
Farro salad again was good but not exceptional.
Coming to the desserts, the Banana Pudding Tiramisu is highly overrated. The banana completely took over the Tiramisu, and all you taste is the banana. Didn't like it.
The date cake had so much salt in it. Each time we took a bite, the top of the cake was completely salty.maybe the ice cream or the creme freche or the foam.every bite that any of us took.it was just salt.
The most disappointing was the response of our server when we told her about the date cake saltiness. She just said, "Oh ya.its a sweet and savory dish, so maybe you tasted the salt. " Come on now, we might not be food crtics, but we do know salt, and you don't expect that response at a restaurant like Cento Bar. All she could have said is.sorry you didn't enjoy it.that would have been enough!
This place is a must! Absolutely loved their spicy pomodoro pasta, charred octopus, gem ceasar salad and banana pudding tiramisu. We also tried the hamachi crudo and carbonara pasta but were not impressed, so wouldn’t order those again. The hamachi crudo was microscopic and a little on the sweet side. The carbonara pasta was unnecessarily spicy; would tone that down a bit. Also tried their cocktails (espresso date & rice rose), which were interesting and creative, but nothing special. Overall, great food, service and ambiance, and while it’s in the middle of nowhere, I’d still absolutely recommend it.
Beautiful place, we were sitting by the kitchen bar.
Minimal service. We wanted the carbonara without the chili and the server said he can't do any changes with the dish but the dish is not spicy and you cant really feel the chili flakes. According to what he said we ordered the carbonara and of course it was super spicy. When he came to check how is everything we told him that we cant eat it because its so spicy for us and he just said " oh, is it spicy for you? No one said its spicy before" and left.
The other dish was great.
He really ruind the experience for us, we just wanted to leave.
Costumer service is the most important even if the food is not perfect, he could manage the situation better.unfortunately we will not come back.
