Our first visit. Fun activity for kids but really expensive. Got crowded around the shelves of wares and was hard to peruse items, so we missed the basic tiles stowed away on lowest shelf at far end, which would have been our child’s preference for painting.

I loved ceramics & wanted to see what was going on. Tables set up outside for a child's Birthday Party. There were 12-15 young children~ 8 years old. Every child had a ceramic piece & paints, lots of creativity & chatter going on. Parents were able to enjoy the Mall's offerings while children were well supervised & occupied. I don't know the prices or what is included in this great activity. Appears everyone was having a good time. Check it out!

We had a nice time @ CeramiCafe!

The good —
The new new location is nestled up near the SkyDeck w/ a big wall of glass & nice natural light. There was a decent selection of items and a ton of paint colours. The staff was kind and helpful.

It was also cool to have the option to take paint home & finish it if you need more time.

The not-so-good —
1. The prices. We have a tradition to come here each year, ever since I was a kid — & I can say this time was the first where we couldn’t afford to paint the things we were most interested in. We’re talking like $75-105 per item. There were definitely lower-priced options, just nothing that we were excited about.

At the table next to ours, I heard a little boy tell his grandma he was sad he didn’t get to paint the thing he wanted to because it was too expensive, to which she sadly replied ‘I know. ’ That’s a real bummer.

I know inflation is hitting everyone & the new location is “prime real-estate”, but I’m a life-long crafter & firmly believe creativity should be affordable — and within reach for any child or adult.

2. The paint brushes were in reaaaally rough shape.

All in all, it was a fun day

If the prices stay the same — I’m really not sure we’ll be back which is really sad to think about. I hope affordability can be a priority again soon

Terrible manager and staff. Brought 5 kids with my friend and I and paid over $150 to have them paint little pieces. My friend’s kid dropped hers and it broke so the kid cried a lot wanting it back, i went to the manager asking if she could replace the piece that broke and she was so rude saying that she “cannot”. Such a heartless rude woman. Will never go there again let alone recommend this place to any of my friends or their kiddos’ bday parties. Tons of other places like the liberty station one with nicer staff and customer service!

A reservation was made over the phone for two adults and two children, however, when we arrived, they didn't have my reservation even though I had my confirmation email with me to show. They squeezed us into a table with others. The place was very crowded with non-participating bystanders standing in the walkway talking, making movement to the supplies area difficult, the noise level was extremely loud. A children's cartoon video was also playing, distracting a lot of the kids. The staff was very disorganized. The paint dishes and paintbrushes were not enough to accommodate all participants, and the paintbrushes were very poor quality. Brushes appeared to have been sheared to remove bent bristles making them uneven. Not a fun experience, however the two children with me were young and their expectations were not mine.

Good location and very nice people. Selection was a little less than I expected, but good and prices were spot on. Waiting yet for the completed fired painted ceramics. Lots of available paints and choices.

So much fun for all ages! You come in and pick a ceramic to paint, pay for it, then paint your heart out. They have tons of pieces to choose from; anything from mugs and plates to small, medium, and large figurines. The price is on the bottom and based on how much paint you will need. You can choose a piece that is blank and you completely design or one that has a pattern already on it so you don't have to be artistic and can just paint. The shop is on the 2nd floor with outside and inside seating. We got there about 1 and there wasn't too many people there. We left after 4 and it was starting to get busier as people were getting off work.

My little one loves this place! We have gone 2 weeks in a row. There's plenty of space outside. Even inside the tables are quite far apart and the front doors are wide open. They have good hygiene practices where they ask people to clean their hands before selecting paints and brushes. There's a large selection of ceramic pieces to paint and it takes 7 days for your piece to be fired.

You can also have your birthday party there and if you want you can pick up ceramic pieces and paint for your birthday party at home.

Cute little Ceramic Studio! Recently moved to New location, they are over by Jim on but up on the second floor. Big windows makes for bright open space! Friendly helpful staff. 2 will return when we are back in the San Diefo area.

My husband and I had a lot of dates at CeramiCafe before we got married, and we just took our 3-month-old son to make some clay handprints. We love the selection of paintable ceramics and how easy it is to spend a couple of fun hours here. Can't wait to go back and paint some more!

We took our 4 year old daughter here and she had fun. Prices can be a little high if your child wants to pick like 5 items, but the Groupon deal was a steal!

Great place to have a cool, creative relaxing afternoon with the family. The painted pieces also make great, personal gifts for friends and family!
