Cerro San Luis reviews
9Did this hike and started at the Lemon Grove Trailhead. The signage wasn’t so great but with the help of the AllTrails app you can make it up easily.
Love this hike. Cerro San Luis is also known as Madonna Mt. So many beautiful oaks. Peace and tranquility guaranteed.
A terrific signature hike in SLO. There are a variety of options to get to the top, or you can circumnavigate the whole mountain. Terrific 360 views from the top!
Cerro San Luis Obispo mountain is a great place to go hiking. The climb is about a mile or so to the peak and is steep at some parts but nothing to crazy. The 360 degree views from the summit are amazing. Well worth the climb and a visit if in SLO.
Simply beautiful and easy yet some challenging parts. Love the rock garden trail, so beautiful. Plenty of shade and sunny spots. Also benches along the hike are available.
If you're back from a long time of no activity, especially during covid then this is the hike for you, pretty short but still a bit challenging!
I hike this pretty much every day. Great way to start the day and a excellent view of SLO.
With quarantine in place there's bunches more people out and about on the trails. It'd be nice if folks would be better about picking up their bagged dog poo. At least there's hardly any trash on the trails and if there is, well, we always try to pick it up. Aside from that, be wary of the directional trails!
Great views from the foothills, and the top, of Cerro San Luis (aka Madonna Mountain). You are perched immediately above downtown to the East, and have an awesome view of Bishop Peak and other Morro Sisters to the Northwest. Can be hiked from several different trailheads. I typically start at the Serrano Heights trailhead - where you can find a nice mix of open grassland and oak forests at the beginning of the hike.
