Cha Cha Chicken, Santa Monica CA

I don't usually leave reviews, but you have to know more about my very recent experience here. I have been coming here since 2012 and it has changed a lot. It used to be pretty good and it's getting worse and worse. One member of staff is very rude and made me wait on multiple occasions, the food is not what it used to be, and they overcharged me multiple times. I think the same rude guy that made me wait is the same one that overcharged me. I'm not sure if he's the owner or if he's embezzling. I wanted to support them because of covid, but I'm never coming back here again. There are lots of great restaurants in Santa Monica that have great food and great value why would I come back?

On a side note, I've been to the Caribbean countless times. If you want authenticity go somewhere else.

I called in an order for a whole Cha Cha Chicken. They said 30 min. I got there and they acted like they never got the order. I saw the guy in the kitchen slap a few pale looking pieces onto a grill for less than 5 min, they slapped some sauce from a bucket onto it and give it to me. Felt rubbery and was close to raw. And extremely expensive for one whole chicken ($28!).

A great restaurant which we walked in by chance on our way to to another restaurant. Food was good and great atmosphere.very relaxing and was a breath of fresh air compared to the regular restaurants.

Yesterday was our first time we visited this excellent restaurant. But It is definitely not the last. We passed a splendid evening with the attentive service, with the exceptional cooking and wine and with the decent cost. We will surely visit there soon.

Really awesome chicken and sides! Tried the coconut fried chicken and Cha Cha chicken, and both were really good.the Cha Cha chicken falls off the bone with a really delicious, spicy sauce to add flavor, and the coconut fried chicken is nice and crispy, with a great fried coating that has hints of coconut flavor. Pretty affordable as well, which is always a plus!

Food was okay but I asked for a cup of water to water down the drink I got, it was too strong. The waiter said no because of covid, then proceeded to bring my friend a cup of ice and told him it’s a one time thing. So I can’t have a cup of water but he can have the ice? Okay. Very dissatisfied with the watermelon drink and the lying waiter.guy at the front was also trying to upsell us on every item lol sheesh

I got the hot and it delivered. Sauce on the CHA CHA is delicious. I’ll be needing that recipe!

I’ll be back for the coconut option.

Have eaten here many times over the years.the food is consistent and very flavorful. A bit pricey for what you get. Ordered take out during covid and all was great. Only reason for 4 star was staff (worker) was a bit unappreciative for the business and minimal spoken words. Restaurant is also a bit outdated and in need of a refresher.

I mean there no words for this place i feel like my grandmother just cooked for me the chicken this time was sooooooo SPICY JUST THE WAY I LOVE IT!? THANK YOU! My belly so happy
I drove from sandiego and its so worth it!

The sandwich and wings were not soggy from being delivered. I will always be ordering from here. So bomb. The flavor is amazing and was very crispy.

Cha Cha Chicken was amazing! The jerk chicken, Empanadas, and homemade lemonade was out of this world. The restaurant is located in a centralized location which makes it easy to shop and check out the near beaches. The place was very clean and had great hospitality. The manager also enforced the mask mandate helping to stop the spread of Covid 19. I definitely recommend if your in the mood for some caribbean food.
