Definitely one of the most amazing and vegan friendly food in Berkeley! I would recommend to everyone who's looking for a delicious and healthy meal

Waste time waste gas money. Web says they close at 8pm. We arrived at 3: 03pm and the lady and man take us in. She said they close at 3pm daily. I told her we drove all the way from airport she didn't really care.

Small place owned by nice people. Serving fresh vegetarian and vegan sushi. Liked it very much.

To me, Cha Ya Berkeley is the best restaurant in the world, and I am truly not exaggerating. I have tried many vegan restaurants globally, and the beauty, attention to detail, and pure deliciousness (not to mention wholesome healthfulness) are unparalleled. You may think it's pricey, and it can be, but to us the price is well worth it. The products are exceptional, as is the culinary quality and craftsmanship. My partner and I are regulars-we have been going weekly for over two years, and every single time, we are blown away. Thank you Cha Ya Berkeley!

Food is wonderful. 4 stars as they have only 2 tables outside which pretty much means you have to take it to go and well sushi is usually a meal you like to sit and eat fresh. Otherwise great tasting and friendly staff. Be aware cash or Venmo only…!

Probably the best Japanese restaurant I've eaten at. I've been multiple times, and every dish is amazing. In particular, their broth is incredible, they do eggplant really well, and they have a great variety of unique sushis.

Getting our food took a little less than 10 minutes and it was delicious. The agedashi tofu is the best I've had and the vegan roll was a great option.

Amazing vegetarian food, flavorful but without any fat. A large variety of soups for a cold day, the menu itself is huge and has a lot of options.
It is a bit sad inside, maybe some music would make the ambiance better.

*CASH ONLY* Incredible, top notch vegan sushi. The Shattuck Roll is our favorite, but also love the Vegan Roll and the avocado/cucumber. Can't wait to return.

I got the dinner combo deal but unfortunately they gave me 2 of the same entrée. I hope that there wasn't someone else that got my other dish instead of what they ordered. They're super busy, because the food is super good.

Really disappointed. Not once. Twice. If you’re GF don’t bother ordering unless you have your own GF soy sauce. Gf options are sparse and the customer service is non-existent. If I could zero stars I would.

Delicious vegan sushi. Try the Cha-Ya roll. Their other foods are lovely as well. Fresh ingredients in tasty combinations. Eat your veggies here!

I have lived in Oakland for 9 years did not even know about this place until yesterday it's some of the best food that I've ever had it's vegetarian and vegan but you won't mind at all just phenomenal I can't say enough good things about this food everything that we had was fantastic

This place obviously knows how to serve their clients. Consistently with a super nice demeanor. The food is conveniently priced, always delicious and clean.

Amazing fresh vegetables, crunchy tempura not oily, great noodle soup. You aren't missing meaty savory flavor at all even though it's vegetarian! New favorite for when I'm in this area.

Cha-Ya is my favorite vegetarian/vegan restaurant! Their dishes are so carefully made and it always feels like a real treat to dine there (or get take out)! You can tell they put a lot of thought into each dish, for they are all delicious! Highly recommend the Dengaku and Tonchi Nasu. Also, I am so glad to have found a place that uses all paper take-out boxes WITHOUT the plastic lining!
