Hours of diverse hands on fun for my grandsons ages 8 and 5. Science can be fun! The cafe had a less creative menu than a few years ago but provided a great rest break for our family. Cant wait to go again! Far too many things to explore to see in one day.

Whent to see the beautifulia show it was amazing but bit dark to watch and those 4 kids behind us kicking the seat are so annoyed couldn't focus on the show.

One of my favorite Bay Area destinations!
The NASA Ames Research Center maintains a nice visitor center here at Chabot, including interactive hands-on activities appropriate for both kids and adults. There are several planetarium shows each day.
I was surprised to walkinto the gift shop and see a Russian Orlan space suit on display, an older model than the one I trained in at Star City, Russia.

Went to a free public telescope viewing on a Saturday night. There was a party going on in the building adjacent to the telescopes, so that may have contributed to the length of the lines. But, it was worth the wait to see Saturn through Leah, the Ring Nebula through Rachel, and a fantastic globular star cluster through Nellie, the 36“ reflector. There's something special about seeing a deep sky object with your own eyes that makes it more real than a picture!

Chabot is great for a romantic date, families and more. I went to their free telescope viewing on Fridays and Saturdays and it was incredible seeing craters on the moon, Saturn and it’s rings, and a dying star. Parking is ample and free. The volunteers were all so kind and knowledgeable! Beware, it’s a bit dark so becareful where you step!

Went to a private event here. Hands down the coolest place to watch a PowerPoint presentation is a planetarium.

The kids had a lot of fun. Great way to stay indoor on a hot day. The theater was a great way to take nap.

Not really worth it to visit. Many areas need to fixed like painting and replacing with new ones.

Absolutely awesome place to visit for science and space nuts! Awesome activities for kids (and hey, even as an adult I had a blast creating an air powered rocket!) Planetarium movies were great too, and definitely need to come back for the free telescope observations!

I went to public telescope watching on Saturday 7: 30-8: 30 PM. My expectation was that I can see the stars closer with big telescopes. But, I saw the starts as the same size that we can see in the night without telescopes. I feel it’s not worth it.

I liked that kids could do stuff with their own hands like flying rockets and paper planes that they can test in air tube

This is a great place to take your family to learn about space. They have cool activities as well as little workshops where you can learn about space. I would recommend coming here along with your kids too.

Good place for space junks! Did a first Friday special event after becoming a member. James web first pictures were explained by the UC Berkly prof, very intriguing.
Planetarium dome showing signs of wear and maintenance, dark patches visible during the shows. Quality of projections are not sharp and are dull. Some of the shows are boring for any age like ‘maya’
Two Telescopes are refractor and one with reflective models ; with cloudy sky could not see through.
Great place for a day hike in Chatbot and scope viewing on Friday and Saturday nights with plenty of parking.
No more driving to cal academy in SF and paying $30 just for parking!

Educational and fun museum, perfect for kids of all ages. Both my 2 year old and 8 y.o. Had a blast. There was something to touch, learn, and even get creative in every exhibit room. Will very likely come back soon!

Drive to this location place is scenic and beautiful. All the people there are well informed and help understand what you are looking at. Fun experience! Saw stars and clusters ranging from 200 to 2400 light years away. Moon was also great to see!

Visited by about 9 pm to get a good view of space. Nice educative visit particularly for children and students of astronomy.
