Channel Islands Family Dental Office, Port Hueneme CA

I called this dental office to set up an appointment and explained that my wisdom teeth were coming in. I explained that it was already popping out and that I wanted to set an appointment to get them extracted. They explained to me I would first need a consultation and then an X-ray to move forward. I asked specifically how we would move forward after the appointment and they let me know that I would then set an appointment with a specialist to move forward and on pricing. I was paying out of pocket because my insurance does not cover dental. I went in for the consultation and the staff was not friendly at all. They didn’t explain anything to me at all until I talked to the Doctor. He was friendly and gave me a brief explanation about what I needed done. Talking to him took about 10 mins of the whole hour and a half I was sitting there. He did not explain at all to me what were two medications he prescribed but I was guessing pain killers and antibiotics. After it was done, I asked them when could I set up the appointment for the extractions and they gave me a referral to another office. I was upset because they explained to me I would have to get another X-ray done, pay another $100 and then they would schedule an appointment with an actual specialist who would take them out. This is absolute robbery. Why would I pay for another consultation and X-ray when I just got one? I came in knowing what my problem was and they explained to me over the phone that they had staff on site for it and did not. I am just looking to get my wisdom teeth out. After making the call to this other referral office they said they would not take me in until two weeks from now and that they can keep prescribing pain medication for me in the meantime. I explained to them that I already am taking medication and I am still in pain. Also, I don’t want to keep taking pain medication since it makes me drowsy. They just prescribed me a higher dosage. This place was a complete waste of time. Make sure if you make an appointment here that you ask if they have specialists on site on the phone and when you get to their office for what you need so that you don’t waste your money or time.

This place is awesome, Elisa and the entire staff are great. The dentist is super awesome I felt almost no pain, they made me feel so relaxed I almost fell asleep. I totally recommend them. Oh and I would still give them the same review gift card or not.

This Office Is Great! The Staff Is Professional and Friendly. The Doctor Is Totally The Best At His Job He Makes You Feel At Ease. I'm Glad I Found This Dentist.

He said I had 4 cavities, I got a second opinion and guess what? No cavities! Just an old filling needed to be fixed. They’ll drill your teeth for no reason just to bill your insurance. Oh and the people working behind the counter are not professional. The only reason this place has good ratings is because they have a sign saying give us a good review and we’ll give you a $5 gift card.

Usually when I go to this office, I know that they would never take me in at the appointment time and would have to wait 20-30 minutes until being seated. Today was different. I had an appointment at 11: 00am for just a consolation, something I thought would only take about an hour of my day. I checked in and waited outside until I was called in. I actually waited 3 hours and didn't think I had to wait for something that long. There were people there after me who actually went in before I even did. I left the place at around 1pm without an explanation nor an apology and was told that I was getting called in but wasn't listening but they could've went up to me and told me without calling me from a distance. Wasted 3 hours of my day waiting for nothing.

Im normally scared of the dentist but when i came here they made me fill comfortable and were very helpful and nice.makes me less scared now.

The best team of dental professionals i have ever been to. I have a hard time before but never again as long as ihave these gentle folks at Channel islands Dentistry. Thank you all so much

Quick, and easiest process visiting a dental office. Staff is incredibly nice and helpful. Would recommend to any and everyone!

Took my daughter for exam, cleaning and x-rays. She's on medi-cal. She had them done and a small cavity filled. From time we walked in to leaving was about 1 hour. Work was done well. Staff was friendly. Daughter was happy. I recommend this dental service.

I talked to Jessica, Crystal, Kristina, and Dr. Merat. They were ssso helpful and friendly. Every time I called on the phone they were polite and helped me with my questions. Dr. Merat was very gentle and careful when she worked on my mouth. She explained what she was doing and helped me with any questions I had. She did not try to sell me any dental work I didn’t need. I am happy with their customer hospitality and dental work.

The whole staff was very helpful. Being it was my first time back to a dentist in years. I felt comfortable as soon as walked in. The whole office was knowledgeable and seem to really care. Looking forward to other visits. Thank you!

Tried to reschedule my appointment, front desk was so insisting for me to go, showed up was sitting there for an hour, had to leave because I was already late to work. Also if you like holes drilled to the side of your mouth this is the place. Won't be returning!

Came in today for my yearly checkup, staff was very friendly and their was little wait time. Would definitely recommend this place, very inexpensive and friendly environment.

Had an appointment for 3, wasn’t seen until 345. That was after another person showed up after me and was seen before I was. The dental tech pulled up records for someone named Pedro. The dentist was a bit confused by this as I don’t look like a Pedro. Great dentist, incompetent staff. Will not be returning.

This place is amazing! Highly recommend super friendly staff. Made me feel very comfortable my first visit came in with emergency toothache. Looks like I found My new dentist!

The dentist is very efficient and was pretty much pain free all three times I was in there. Knows what she's doing. (Cute too by the way). Very professional. The staff is easy to deal with. Two thumbs up! I like them!

This dental office is awesome! The dentist was really cool. He gave me tips on how to floss to get the best results and was friendly to talk to.
