Chapala Restaurant reviews
11 Not one mask in sight. The cook, the dishwasher, the servers, nobody. One girl was wearing the mask under her chin. The other girl had no mask at all. They were eating French fries and packaging our food at the same time, too.
The shrimp al mojo de ajo was very good. I loved it! The carne asada tacos were not good. The meat tasted dry and cheap. The tostadas de ceviche were good too.
I do recommend this place because the food was mostly awesome! Maybe the carne asada tacos was just a one off situation; not sure. However, they should really put on a mask and sanitize between eating fries and touching the forks/limes/and people’s food.
This place has run through several different owners over the years. Now it has great traditional Hispanic dishes with excellent service.
Very bad experience. Molcajete really bad I won't go back.need to learn how to prepare a real mexican molcajetes. With fresh ingredients.
If this is a hidden gem it definitely a best Mexican food spot if you are craving home style food go there
Ordered torta ahogada bread tasted stale even after adding sauce. Rice and beans bland no flavor. Left hungry.won't be back
I went to this restaurant this afternoon after having a long morning. I was greeted by kind workers. I ordered a burrito and four rolled tacos (Taquitos). I received my order and left. As I was driving home I opened up the taquitos and started to eat. On my third Taquito that I bit into I felt a sharp pain rush through the back tooth and realized I bit into a stick which was rolled into the taquito. I spit out the food and was grossed out. My body was shaking because this was something you do not expect when eating. I drove back to the restaurant and let them know what happened and gave them the plate with the stick and in return, they gave me money for the taquitos.
What if I gave this to my daughter who waited in the car? What if this caused strangulation? What if a little child got a hold of this stick that I bit into? I’m really disgusted by this. We have to be more observant.
The food is delicious, having food that expanded my horizons, while not a fancy restaurant, it is amazing for a family to go in
Welp. Let’s see. Food was ok. Not to bad. Service was ok. Lady was on top of our drinks and very friendly. I ordered the pozole. Over cooked juice had a burnt flavor. Wouldn’t order it again from here if I ever come back. Price was fair. Only thing I didn’t like is for a restaurant they don’t have refills. Never heard of a restaurant charging for a second or third refill. Overall. Price was ok food ok service ok.
The food was not tasty at all it was very greasy service was slow took me a long time to get my coffee cup refilled each time and they weren't that busy but on a good note when my girl didn't like the cubed potatoes they took them off plate and gave her a rice instead I was going to give them a two but I think I'm just going to change it to a 1 because you can't change it to a none somebody told me that they were handmade tortillas but they didn't taste that way
Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. Staff is so friendly and accommodating and oh my the food! Absolutely delicious! Well done!
This place has the most amazing chicken quesadilla.compared to my favorite place I only buy this from at the kingtaco in Southgate.at chapalas this one is chunkier and more stuffed and comes with sourcream and avocado. Now I have a local place to buy my quesadillas at Chapalas and one when I go visit the inlaws by kingtaco! Two good places to eat.
