14 I was living in Building 88B when my fellow recruits and I marched to this wonderful chapel while in basic training back in the mid ‘80s. San Diego is a beautiful town.
If I had a time machine—
Don’t get me started.
Walking in the CHAPEL for our tribute to Adele concert was beautiful (something about candlelight) I took my 13 year old daughter who loved the whole visual and listening experience just as much as I did. The string quartet members were engaging, funny, and extremely talented. I will definitely be going to another Fever event! Loved it!
The candlelight concert series by fever are absolutely amazing. Worth every penny! I’m telling all my friends to do this. A few logistical things… there is no assigned seating other than the zone that you paid for. So I would arrive as early as an hour before the show to get closer. In my opinion, the balcony seats were the worst because they’re the farthest away in the back of the church. It’s not like a theater or amphitheater so it’s flat, in other words if there’s a tall person sitting in front of you, you’re gonna have a hard time seeing. The seating is an actual church pew. There is heat and air conditioning inside the church which is nice.it’s unfortunate that it’s in the flight path because there was an airplane going over every 10 minutes or so. The shows are an hour long.
Was disappointed that was not all Christmas music. Except for Verdi opening. Love that piece
Went to the BTS site tonight. It was absolutely euphoric! Brought me to tears it was so beautiful and the performers were entertaining, funny and super talented musicians. Bonus was that they have AC and it wasn't stuffy.
My husband's friend gifted us tickets to the Taylor Swift ensemble and I very much enjoyed myself. Since my husband and I arrived late, the event coordinator asked if we would like to attend the second show instead. She also asked if i wanted to sit in front since my Balcony seats were comparable. I declined and later regretted that. The balcony seats were not worth it because we were the furthest away! It was beautifully played but maybe the narration could have been better planned/organized? I feel like the transition between each artist seemed slightly unnaturally but the main speaker was quite engaging. I will definitely do this again! Thank you guys!
Reliving memories of bootcamp. Everything has changed, but the Chapel.
Served 1972 - 1976
We were marries here 32 years ago! Love that we were able to view the inside again. Thank You Victoria for setting this up for us.
Candlelight Vigil. Reflection time and prayers in support of Ukraine to resist the genocide by russian naZists
First you don't have to pay more for balcony seats.as it is dark anyway and not much to see except candles. It did create a very intriguing atmosphere akin to a spiritual religious ceremony. I attended the Rock strings Quartet performance which was interesting and amateurish, additionally the music sound level did not fit the bill. They may think about amplifiers next and the host commentator ran on with bogus rock trivia.
IT'S A ONCE AN DONE.
I recently visited the Chapel in Liberty Station to attend one of their Candlelight Concerts. The Chapel is stunning, an intimate setting to enjoy such events. I will return soon to photograph this beautiful building in the daytime. I look forward to visiting again soon.
The Rock in Strings concert was inspirational. The venue was beautiful. We sat in the back and could see and hear perfectly. The sound in the chapel was full and uplifting among the hundreds of candles. Wonderful!
We went to a Candlelight concert here. A band named Velveteen played some classical ministry by Vivaldi. They were absolutely amazing! My only complaint was the seating there, the pews, were very uncomfortable. Other than that, it was a great experience!
Attended the Candlelight Concert. The chapel was an excellent venue to see this unique show.
