Chennai Tiffins - Indian Restaurant & Catering Services reviews
19 We went with friends who were visiting us. We were asked very rudely in every 2 mins to eat quickly as they have to close the buffet.
Why did they even allowed us to sit when they had to close the buffet so soon.
The best food of my life it was soo good that i would die for the food the staff were super polite and the place looks more moder come to this place execlent
I have came here before and liked its food previously. But this time it was extremely disappointing. I ordered veg fried rice & manchurian. The veg fried rice was served with raita. Shocking thing was its price turned out be higher than manchurian. We were given dosa plates. Don't know if they aren't interested or they are really closing their restaurant. But yes, I am not visiting here again. Please check all reviews from Indian people before going there.
Soo good tasty food staff were very execlent and the place is my all time fav thanks for the tasty food
I use to visit this restaurant almost thrice a week. Last weekend when I went for buffet with my sister, my kid asked for a small piece of poori. Usually my kid never eats poori or any Indian Tiffen items. As he asked for a piece, I ordered one set of poori separately for him other than my buffet. In the wait time, I gave a small piece of poori to my kid. On seeing that, two staffs from the billing counter shouted at us in front of everyone. Though they know that I ordered a separate set of poori, they shouted at us. I had a very bad experience. At the end, in the new poori set, my kid didn’t even eat half poori. Though I know that he won’t eat much, I ordered a separate set of poori other than my buffet. Those two staffs asked my kid to wait for the new set of poori when he was crying to eat one small piece of poori from my buffet by telling that I can’t share even a small piece of buffet. This attitude is too arrogant. In many restaurants (like California pizza kitchen), they provide free kids lunch in weekends. But these two staffs were shouting to their regular customers. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone hereafter.
We visited this place with friends yesterday. They accepted us to sit for buffet at 11: 20 well knowing that they have to close buffet by 11: 30. They could have not accepted us. But in turn they kept reminding us every two minutes of sitting that they are about to close and we should fill our plates with whatever we want. Seriously! We go out for experience. It was quite unprofessional on their part to treat customers the way they did. I will not recommend this place to anyone.
We visited Chennai Tiffin with friends who were visiting us from east coast. We were a group of people who paid for the breakfast bufffet at 11.20 AM and started to eat. At 11.35 we were asked if we need more food from as they plan to close the buffet. Then after every 5 mins they kept pestering us to wrap up as they wanted to close the buffet. The ladies working there were rude and never cared about customer service or hospitality. On top of that they charged 20% gratuity which we had to flight to get back the refund as the service was very poor.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
They allowed us a buffet at 11: 20 after asking them if they would close at 11: 30. They said no and proceeded to seat us. Soon in 5 mins they asked us to pile our plates with all the food needed as they were closing the buffet. Totally spoiling the buffet experience.unproffesion and was rude.
We went with friends who were visiting us. We were asked very rudely in every 2 mins to eat quickly as they have to close the buffet. We were so annoyed that we to pay the money along with the TIP as soon as we enter the resturant and got worst service. Never going back. Have many other outlets to eat similar food.
Poor service, they forgot my order. Chole were hard and not completely cooked. Bhaturas were very oily. Had to wait for a while to pay at the front with no other customers ahead of me. The young man in the front taking the payment was arrogant and cocky. He told me “ I did not make the food and you can go to the kitchen and express your concerns but I am not going to do it and it is not my problem”. Never ever experienced such arrogance from a restaurant staff before.
Good south indian food. Portion size a lot, very tasty dosas, chutneys and sambar. Customised our order. Highly recommended
Simply delicious. If you want to try authentic Southern Indian food, this is definitely the place to be.
Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed mainly with service. Food was Ok. The other restaurant by Miramar is way much better and tasty. We thought of giving Chennai tiffins a try but dont think will ever come here again. They had more variety though.
Honestly, this is currently the best South Indian restaurant in San Diego. Dint like this place in 2019-2020. Looks like things have changed post Covid.
The place is always clean, have been there mainly for dinner. Friendly staff and extremely tasty food. I hope they stick to this service.
Extremely arrogant and rude during buffet. Not sure about the two Indian personalities (cashier/manager) that was very rude and disrespectful towards us. We were saddened by the behavior and would not recommend it.
We were served with old food that smelled really bad and when we tried to tell them, they ended up fighting with us with non sensical arguments.
This place is one of my favorite brunch place for weekends! It serves really good tasty south Indian food. Me and my friends love it.
Worst service, sambhar was not there at all, we received microwaved chole, hot on sides and cold in center part of bowl, cocktail idli is not the sambhar dipped mini idli, its old idli cut and roasted, dominant flavor is sour.
Filter coffee didn’t have typical flavor of chicory. Bhatura were oily inside.
If you like fresh food, stay away!
June 3,2023-Most Delicious Vegetarian Food including some Jain items, Courteous Service, Unlimited Warm and very tasteful Sambhar-fantastic, Unlimited Chutney-both you serve yourself from the utensils, so no waiting. I met one of the partners Ranji and recommended to add some more Jain items. Restroom needs some update to make it decent.
We went to Chennai tiffins on a weekday (Tuesday) around 7: 30pm. We took the dine in service, the restaurant wasn't crowded but it was about right amount of.people.
We ordered idillis, masala Dosa, batura, tea and lassi.
The food order was done in couple of minutes, it was Swift.
The starters (vada) was quickly served. Masala tea was also good.
Except batura everything came in swiftly.
