Chess Park Lounge is a great place to visit. The service (Colin was our server) and food were both great. The charcuterie board was well done. Smoke Break is a great drink to start with. We tried several dishes; Short Rib Pasta, Crispy Scottish Salmon, Himalayan Whole Branzino, Open Fire Halibut and as a side dish for our seafood plates we ordered Spaghettini Pomodoro except I had the spaghetti noodles replaced with rigatoni. Every dish was very well presented and was very delicious. Definitely a place that we will go back to. I recommend getting a table in the covered patio.

Chess Park Lounge offers a winning combination of delectable food, outstanding service, and a stellar selection of beer and cocktails. It's a must-visit for those seeking a memorable dining and drinking experience. Kudos to Chef Julio and our server Nico for giving us an unforgettable evening celebrating our family members' birthdays.

Definitely mixed reviews. First off, it's expensive. And the service was horrible when I went. We waited 10 minutes at the front and the host/hostess was nowhere to be found, we had to walk in and get a bartender to find a waiter for us. Never came back to refill our water or deliver the check, had to flag someone down again before we left.

The concept of this lounge is pretty cool, it's an elevated experience with good food and drinks where you can also ask for a chess set to play. The vibes are great once you're seated. No AC, outdoor/connecting areas so it can get stuffy in the summer. The food itself was fantastic. Truffle fries were crispy and well-flavored, and the eggs Benedict was a joyful combination of buttered English muffin, poppable egg, and creamy tomato sauce. Absolutely divine.

Watch out for the bill though, when I was here the fine print added a mandatory 15% tip for parties of ONE or more.at that point you might as well make the already high prices on the menu even higher, the service was non-existent. I would come back to pick up food but I would hope that dining in is usually a better experience.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this place is so goofy I had to. The food and drinks are mediocre. With how much everything costs you’d think some passion goes into the food and cocktails, everything we had was meh.
But the service is so bad it’s comical. All of their servers look like they’re there just to hang out. They all lounge around. No one seems to be giving any energy into this place. The server we had, she was visibly on her phone the whole time. We had to wave her down to get more drinks every time. We were there for about 3 and a half hours… but we had 4 drinks and an appetizer.
BEWARE, the bill already adds gratuity. Probably why no one seems to care about good service, they get their tip either way. They also tax you for any little service the restaurant would like.
Overall, place is just funny. They’re trying hard to be a cute LA restaurant. But you don’t get there by just making everything expensive. 1/5

Very nice atmosphere and food! Service could have been a little more attentive, and it's a tad pricey, especially the $9 surcharge for a relatively small addition of salmon to a salad. But overall enjoyed it

Chess Park Lounge never fails to impress. The food is superb, offering a delightful culinary journey. A unique twist in their cocktails is the use of Armenian brandy instead of scotch - a must-try! The live music adds a wonderful ambiance, enhancing the overall experience. And the staff? Simply exceptional in their service. Highly recommended for an amazing evening out.

Stopped through to grab a bite to go. The vibe was nice with live music playing. Not crowded and had plenty of beautiful people maturely enjoying their time.
Next time I will plan to dine in to experience the atmosphere more.pasta was good 3 stars, needed more seasoning in the sauce, a little plain for my taste, However the roasted carrots were a nice side portion.

I hope the owner will read my review.
Poor Customer Service!
Weeks ago, me and my friend went for dinner. We had only chicken and pasta and no drinks. They charged us $120! I called many times and talked to management, simply asking to check the transaction to make sure it was correct. Each time, they wrote down my contact info but NO ONE CONTACTED ME BACK. It is not a matter of money; the way they treat their customers is under question.

Went for a Sunday dinner. Ordered the mushroom pappardelle pasta with chicken.
2 plates and a bottle of water cost us $120. After few days we noticed they double charged us. My friend called to check why they charged both of our cards for the total amount instead of spliting it. They never returned our call. Very poor customer service.

Eva, this women, I guess she is one of the managers is a very jealous and insecure being.definitely do not recommend this place I guess she has a thing going with the founder lol. I went for a host interview with the founder of the place sitting with us at her interview and she didn't even consul him and said no basically. There was no reason whatsoever to say no. I had 1 year of experience at two different restaurants, I look great, and have very positive energy and great personality. She didn’t even ask about my skills, age, nothing: D And without even considering the founders opinion she told me no without even "we will give you a call" I left laughing. Absolutely ridiculous comedy. Feel bad for the workers for working with such a insecure being. I guess they don't want an appealing looking girl greeting their guests but a old women like herself haha save yourself from entering this horrible environment and experience especially if your a pretty girl! No wonder your tables are all empty and your current host doesn't understand English.what a miserable women you are Eva (:

The atmosphere was awesome, they had great live music and a beautifully lit patio. The service was also good, the staff was friendly and happy to provide a chess board and accommodate the fact that we were playing chess when our food came. Unfortunately, the food was the weak point. Everything was insanely overpriced, the salmon was inedible, tasted like it had been frozen, and thawed several times, beyond fishy and disgusting. The short rib pasta was okay, but nothing special - with both those entrees being $30 I would expect so so much more. The fires were good, but not worth $10 and the truffle dip was tasty but had an awful texture.

Come here for drinks and to play chess, avoid the food

Best fries in the town!
Amazing atmosphere and exceptional cuisine! My special regards to Chef Julio with his out of this world mussels dish. And what a treat is the watermelon plate!

Server was ok, did his job right. For this price food could be way better. Gratuity for what? 15%? Well that interesting.considering how expensive the food was, I was expecting it to taste a whole lot better. 4% that goes to the restaurant, which I thought was a bit gratuitous considering the taste of food and item prices. I've been in teems of different restaurants but this calamari meal was the worst, not even a plate a bowl that I would use for soup with this amount of hot pepper? I love spicy food but not eating spicy pepper without food. $100 for a 20 oz steak? Unbelievable
