8For the last 10 years I’ve been getting my car service at tahoe city chevron and always been happy with the service.
Javier is a life saver! Our family came to Tahoe from Oregon and ran into a SERIOUS car issue that could have left us stranded for who knows how long. He went above beyond for us! Saved our car, vacation and even our pocket book bY not charging us what could have been a fortune! WE ARE SO GRATEFUL FOR JAVIER AND HIS TEAM! We come to Tahoe yearly and will now only fill up at this Chevron!
I am bummed to see any negative reviews here because I have had nothing but great service with everyone at TC Chevron. We have been getting our cars serviced there for the past 3 years, and left another mechanic in town to try them out. They have been straight forward and honest with everything, and talked me out of a few things that could have made them Money.specifically an engine replacement. I would also like to add that they are supporters of local youth sports teams and solid members of the community. As a parent/coach/supporter of youth sports, I notice who contributes to our community, and these guys are constantly putting up money. These are good people.
See for yourself.
Way overpriced for a smog check ($69), and they don't offer a free re-smog if you fail for something like OBD monitor. (Most other smog places do.) Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else.
Skip it and find another. Doesn't keep simple things like windshield cleaner filled. If you have to pay lake Tahoe gas prices, give it to another company
I called the smog person to see if they can do one on Sunday at 10: 15 am. They said yes, and I drove over an hour from reno, nv.
I arrived at 1245, they say their technician left and would not call him when though given my circumstances.
The person running laughed at us. Even though we went to extra effort to get here.
Never again.
Also asked for a manager, 'we don't have one'

Brought my car in for a snow tire swap. I was told they wouldn't take an appt for such a service, so I drove it over to wait. Told at 10: 30 that it shouldn't be more than a couple hours, and I told them I have a dr. 's appt at 3, which they said shouldn't be an issue. It's now past 1, they have already repaired 2 cars that showed up after me, for the same service (a tire swap) and told me they hope to be done by 4!? Are you serious!? They told me there's no guarantee they'll be done by my dr's appt, and now I feel like I'm in some sort of hostage crisis. If I'd known they'd take almost 6 hours to change my tire's I'd never have driven there in the first place. Horrible staff who can't even give any type of timeframe, who just seem to be annoyed by being bothered to do they're friggin' job. I've lived here over ten years, and haven't gone to them in almost 6, I was told they've gotten better, but I'm amazed how worse they are! Never again, and I'll be sure to turn anyone away from them I can.
