Chico's Restaurant reviews
10The owner is a great conversationalist and the food is delicious. I love their salsa too great in everything.
I passed by this restaurant while growing up in Highland Park on Ave 49 hundreds of times. The mural with the mustached chili pepper is a landmark for me. Well, I finally tried it after so many years. Now I know why they’ve been in business for so long. Their food is delicious. I had a cheese tamale that was not too greasy, topped with a delicious tomato sauce, and the menudo without pata. The menudo was not the best I’ve ever had but it was really good. My husband had green and red chilaquiles and they were delicious. We had their cafe de olla, which is very sweet, just the way I like it! I give it a 4.5 out of 5 because I want to go back and try more items and check the flavor consistency, but overall, highly recommend. Also, they give chips and salsa. So happy the chips were fresh and crispy, but keep in mind the salsa they give for their chips and salsa is very yummy but super hot! Ask for some water if you are going to have it.
If you haven't heard of this place! Its delicious and inexpensive. Try it out! Yuumm plenty of parking and friendly service.
I go to Chico's regularly. It is a lowkey restaurant with terrific burritos. They don't say on the menu, but you can ask for no cheese, cream, etc.to make it vegetarian or vegan friendly. The owners are super nice and they work hard because the place is open all day.
I live right by Chicos and it is unbeatable for quality and tasty Mexican food. I eat here more than any other restaurant in LA and it keeps me coming back again and again. The owner is a joy to run into and I can tell he loves his business and his customers.
The red pozole is fantastic. So flavorful and comforting. Picked it up to go and it came with all the regular condiments (cabbage, lemon, radish and onions) and a choice of flour or corn tortillas. The flour tortillas are great! As is the smoky red salsa. The employee was very nice when we came in to pick up. Will definitely be coming back.
My husband got the cocido which also comes with condiments and rice. It was really tasty as well but obviously a lighter flavor than the pozole if that’s what you’re in the mood for.
ONE OF THE BEST NACHOS IN LOS ANGELES. FRESH INGREDIENTS REAL CHEESE. DELICIOUS. MY GO TO SPOT FOR BOMB NACHOS. SALSA IS ON POINT.
Wonderful service for our graduation party of 6. They even put a candle in a flan for my sister bday.
I went w my parents and the food was great! (I had huevos con chorizo so u can't mess it up anyways lol) My only drawback was the atmosphere. For the prices they charge they don't have a stereo? When we came in it was kinda slow and empty so it was rly quiet save for the sound of this kid scrolling thru TikTok my mom turns to me and goes "it's rly quiet here I feel like I'm in a library"
Welcoming, friendly staff and the interior was cozy. Easy parking lot. I enjoyed my visit and would visit again when I'm in the neighborhood.
