This small peninsula somehow provides a contrast between the violent and powerful Pacific and the calm of Drake's Bay. Houses of rescue guards are at the bay and seem idyllic, but have lots of history.

1. There is a clear sign that dogs are not allowed to be walked, but I saw three groups of people bringing dogs in. I would like to remind you.
2. It is generally a gentle trail, with only a small section requiring a slight climb.
3. There is no shade, so it will be very hot and sunny when climbing in summer.
4. You can see the beach and seals at the end and halfway along the trail, but you have to follow passers-by to see it because there are no signs to specifically indicate it.

It is a short easy trail. End of Summer, dead grass and many cliffs coming down with signs about the danger.
Small hidden beaches are the perfect spot for elephant seals to sun bath.

I don't know why they call it "Chimney" and that in Spanish it means "chimney", but that's the least important thing. The place offers a beautiful panoramic view and the same when you walk when you get there. Hopefully you will be able to see sea lions resting on their small beaches, just like we did. Many years ago there was a project to develop the whole area, but local people and environmental defenders stopped the project. That was not only a victory for them, but for California, the USA and even the world. This whole area is an unforgettable place.

Every hymn falls short
Every litany is insufficient
And a lifetime of shukr is still lifetimes short to encompass the blessings and the bounties of my Rabb

Nice moderate trail. Went with my 8 month old and it was doable. Be careful with the cliffs.
Wish they would add more benches at the end.

Breathtaking.the end of the road, grassy bluffs drop down to the ocean on 3 sides.it’s a short trail (2.5 m rt) and not too much elevation climb.its typical very windy.

Perfect trail for a day visit, not too long, not too short. Amazing views throughout the trail. Just watch weather before the visit.
From the clifs, you can see the elephant seals lying on the beach. Also, while returning, you can take a fork and go down to see seals very close and do a loop trail instead of going to seal overlook area.

It’s a nice hiking spot and a beautiful view throughout the walk. It’s an unauthorized trial but very easy walk. If you you are lucky seals can be seen and also dolphins. Drive to this place is a single road without lanes. That means cars driving back need to stop at turnouts to yield for the incoming car. Drive into this place carefully otherwise it’s a good place to visit. Not sure why the name, didn’t see the chimney rock but the sea view is amazing

Chimney Rock is a beautiful national park. The trail is short & easy for a out and back hike. You can find lots of pretty wildflowers. There are steep drops off the rocky cliffs, so watch your step near the edge. Vista point has spectacular views. We got to see some elephant seals lounging on the beach.
