Dr. Gualtieri is the best! I have been going to him for many years. He is very knowledgeable and always professional. His staff is also very friendly & helpful. I enjoy my visits to his office & recommend him highly.

I had no issues with this Dr, he was actually efficient but the reason I one star is because of the billing. I paid my bill and then I receive a notice to pay the bill. I told them that I had paid already and even had to submit a receipt. I got confirmation of the receipt and now a month later I received another notice (bill) even though it's been paid. This is incompetence in part of the billing dept, that's to bad for the Dr.because he was actually very good in my case.

Compassionate & competent with friendly staff, Dr. G is my first choice for ophthalmologic or cosmetic needs. Highly recommend.

My Partner, my Mother-in-law and I have been seen by Dr G for quite sometime. I am most impressed with Wayne Lynch, the Optician in the office. I stumbled upon Wayne a few years ago and was pleasently surprised at his level of expertise, knowledge, and customer service. Since our first meeting I have purchased approximately 14 pairs of glasses from him. His help with selecting and customizing the frames and lenses has afforded me the opportunity to finally be happy with my Eyewear. His prices are very very reasonable and he has the best selection in San Diego of unique European eyewear. The office is upbeat with positive energy which is rare these days. Wayne is always willing to accommodate one's needs. If you are tired of Costco go see Wayne.

It took them almost a week to return my call regarding confirming my appointment. The office is small and looks filthy. The Dr's. Assistant is some giant, unfriendly man, with a nasty beard. I had to go in for a diabetic screening. The screening machine was on a random table, that would not allow me to position my chair up to the table/forehead bar. So the giant, unkept looking man says "here I'll just hold your head". When I told him the chair would not go all the way up to the table, he suddenly grabs my head with his hand. The whole experience was surreal. I thought I was in an episode of Twin Peaks. Super weird!

The doctor was fine, the exam was fast and I didn't get much of an impression. The optical office (a separate department) is really special. I've been there a number of times and sent several friends there for frames and lenses. They have a good selection of frames, and the prices are fantastic, equal to or better than Costco: and wonderful customer service from the optician.
Bad behavior and customer service from the front desk person, rude and scolding. Not wearing her mask properly at the height of the pandemic. Not a good face for a pretty great optical place. That's what cost a star on this review.

Got custom Lasik with Dr Gualtieri a couple weeks ago. He was kind, funny and patient. He took the time to review the procedure step by step with me and answer all my many questions. The surgery was done at Sharp Memorial, which was very clean and modern. The team was extremely professional and made me feel comfortable and taken care of the entire time. I absolutely love my new, perfect eye sight! Eyes were pretty dry after the first week, which he advised would happen. After 2 weeks the dryness is mostly gone. Can't recommend enough!

A compassionate, kind and very competent Eye Doctor who has a very pleasant office with really upbeat staff people. He handled my emergency by bringing me in without an appointment, I was so grateful.

I had a great experience at Dr Gualtieri’s office today. I had been seeing another Dr & was unable to get relief from my eye issue for two weeks. His staff was so helpful in getting me in on the day I called. Once I explained my issue he performed a quick procedure that relieved my discomfort. He & his staff were kind, professional & took care of my issue promptly.
