This is one of my favorite places to get hot pot. The food is always fresh and has a good selection. They offer a spicy level choice for the soup, the service is always good and the decor is nice and clean too.

Been going to this Hotpot restaurant for a few years.
They have a good location with plenty of free parking.
It gets very busy, so expect to wait a little for a table.
The food is fresh and delicious. Service is quick and friendly.

Not sure why the rating is 4.2, but definitely 4.9 stars in my book. The atmosphere and aesthetic are better than the Bay Area hot pots. I like that there's a divider for the hot pot. The HANDMADE NOODLES! They are the best noodles I've ever had; they soak up the flavor from the broth, giving it an umami taste. The snacks filled me up but also helped me take a break from so much spicy food. We had the spicy broth with. Now, this is spicy, so spicy it choked me. Haha, I loved it, but there's no distinction of so spicy from another hot pot to me. They were a little rushy I did come at 830pm but time flew by. By rushy meaning with paying and signing the receipt. Also they were doing last call before 930pm but were supposed to close at 10pm. Whatever though Im sure they were trying to go home. ($78 for spicy ribs, beef, taro, spinach, lotus, snacks, soy, broth, handmade noodles)

Not sure if we got food poisoning here.but the food was just ok. Supposedly a famous Chinese hotpot restaurant from mainland China, but they seem to be lacking in quality control for the snack section. Pretty much all the crunchy snacks were stale. The seaweed, pickled veggies, mung bean soup, and white fungus soup all seemed good. The hotpot ingredients selection was varied and fresh.

Service was attentive and soup refills were quick. The atmosphere was casual and inviting

They have a variety of soup bases, and the spicy levels are just right. Hotpot ingredients are authentic and fresh. Side dishes are buffet style and plenty. The only negative I would mention is the chairs are too hard for anyone to sit in for a long meal.

Food was great and authentic. It took me back to the years when I was in Chongqing. Wonderful service. Highly recommended.

A5 The beef is cut too thin and tastes dull. The beef tongue was not ideal either, but the others were just okay.

The best Chongqing hotpot restaurant in Los Angeles, bar none.
I have heard many friends mention this store and praise it very much.
When I tasted it today, it certainly lived up to its reputation.

Lip Spicy Chongqing Hot Pot Restaurant,
One of the best options in Los Angeles.
How many friends recommend you?
The praises are endless.

The hot and spicy flavor is really enjoyable,
The spiciness tantalizes your taste buds.
Plus lots of delicious food,
Everyone gives thumbs up.

I went to the store today to try it out.
The reputation is indeed well-deserved.
Excellent craftsmanship and good taste.
Likes come and go.

I put my heart into the bottom of the pot thousands of times;
Every bite is full of freshness.
The red soup is piping hot and has a rich flavor.
Gourmets scrambled to grab the dining room.

The aftertaste is endless and unforgettable,
Friends meet to visit again.
The spicy hot pot is really good.
A nod is a sigh.

The meat is fresh, the service is good, and the bottom of the pot is not very spicy. There are many free snacks.

I have been to Lipa Hotpot Restaurant many times and it tastes very good. It is a well-known hotpot restaurant in Los Angeles and the mixed vegetables are also good! I also packed it several times during the epidemic! Support as always!

The decor gives a great ambience as soon as you walk. The wait staff was very kind and explained how the experience works. From there it's downhill the soup bases are salted to all hell, the servings are small enough for mouse (which they may have idk). We quickly realized that there was no hope if finding a filling meal here and set off to a dessert place next door anywhere was better than here. After paying for potatoes and the rest of the meal we walked out the front door. We were chase by a lady who was exclaiming we didn't leave a tip. Dumbfounded by the thought of this happening. This establishment is surrounded by much better food please give those a try before you step foot in this place.

Good service and huge portions. I wish they would add udon noodles to their menu, because their house hand cut noodles aren't that great.

Quality of the meat was just okay, but they make up for it by providing more than other hot pot places.

The spicy broth is very spicy. Mild level will numb your mouth.

Plenty of parking. Expect to pay around 30-40 per person.

Although the price is high and the quantity of dishes is small, the quality is good. There are many small dishes in the small food area, and the quality is very good. On Wednesdays in January 2013, there was a 52% discount on the whole site. The restaurant was full, and you had to queue up to eat, but it was worth the wait. I am satisfied with the service and tip more than 20%. I hope that discounts will be held frequently.

Over all good but left around a 8% tip due to lack of attention and not ordering a lot of items & waitress walks up hassling me about the tip not being high enough

If the average little expensive hot-pot restaurant in Shanghai and Chongqing ranks 8 out of 10, no hot pot in Los Angeles is worth 5. I had tried at least 4 hot-pot restaurants in Los Angeles, excluded Shabu-Shabu, they were all expensive and small portions, less fresh compared with the hot-pot in Shanghai and Chongqing.

I'd prefer Shancheng Lameizi, Rowland Heights, to Chun La Hao in Temple City. Let's talk about the details.

The quality of Balk Beef Tripe, which is one of the most important things in hot-pot, Chun La Hao 7 pcs for $17.99 and Shancheng Lameizi for $18.98. Almost same? But they are not. Shancheng Lameizi's tripe is more elegant, it darker, larger, thicker, and tenderer. Much better!

The beef, Chun La Hao is better, neater, and better looking.

The dipping sauce and free snack table, Shancheng Lameizi is at least twice more options as Chun La Hao. The only special of Chun La Hao is they provide individual canned sesame oil.

Chun La Hao has a very special one, which literally means Square Bamboo Shots (方筍), which are dried bamboo shots socked in the water to hydrate it. This one is very tasty and chewy, it's not on the menu, ask the waiters.

The soup base, Chun La Hao is much lighter than Shancheng Lameizi but it's too light to have a Sichuan flavor. I am not a salt/spicy fan, but I still feel Chun La Hao is too light. Someone said you can drink the soup base in Chun La Hao directly but not in Shancheng Lameizi, that's true. But I guess firstly a hot pot is for the flavor to attach to the things you dipping into, not for the soup to drink directly, am I right?

For the renovation, Chun La Hao is more interesting than Shancheng Lameizi. It has several statues in copper color showing the normal life in Chongqing/Sichuan. Also has some old things from China which can call your memory back.

To the end, sorry for Chun La Hao, I can only give you 3 stars but the Shancheng Lameizi can get 4.

(Same review as in Shancheng Lameizi, Rowland Heights, CA)

Came to eat at around 7 o'clock on a Friday, and the two of us had to wait less than 5 minutes. Business is good, a group of young people are eating~

Xiaoxietai - My husband heard the true voice of the Chinese people in 2022:
Uncle A: How is it? It’s still cool in America, right?
Uncle B: Of course, it’s great to not have to be quarantined!

Recommend the pork liver, pig brain, mutton, etc.which are goodThe service is fast.

Really disappointed…. Spicy pot is so salty and some ingredients are not fresh. I don’t even wanna mention that customer service is just not good enough. Overall the experience was bad and will not return.

And they should add meat tenderizer to their beef
