Cinderella Bakery & Cafe reviews
15The place is not very convenient to get at. Not many parking around, the cafe is small so family of 4 takes entire space and with people in a line feels overcrowded. The seating area is tight, but clean. The food is fine but every my order being messed up. Like instead of frozen dish I get boiled or missing an item.
First time stepping into this bakery. Had a beef & cheese piroshky. It was ok the dough was soft & fluffy & the ground meat tasted good even though i wish it had more cheese. Asked them if they could warm it up for me. The pastries look good, i’ll try that next time & probably one of their soups (would’ve tried it but weather outside was humid).
This is absolutely one of the best Russian food places in the country (and I've been to quite a few). I don't leave reviews normally, but felt compelled as a big thank you. This place been around for more than half a century (where in Atlanta they don't last more than a few years), and I'm glad I visited on my vacation to San Fran. I even came there a second time and brought friends b/c it was good. Had Spinach Soup, Solianka, Blinchiki, Sirniki, Cherry Vareniki, Pirozhki, and Kvas. All were very very tasty. Please open a branch in Atlanta - we badly need it!
Their dumplings are delicious, love their borscht as well. The beef stroganoff is on the saltier side so be sure to eat it with the bread they provide. Would come back for more
This place is amazing.if you haven't been its a must try bakery in sf. A slice of history with an all Russian run store, in a classic Russian neighborhood. The sweets are exquisite, and the piroschki are fluffy. The borscht is damn good too. If you like Russian food, want to try it, or just want a damn good bakery, look no further.
Fantastic institution! Wonderful to sit with a hot bowl of beet borsch on a chilly, foggy summer day. Bakery items are also amazing, we always go home with hamentashen.
Huge selection of pastries - both sweet & savory. Many traditional Russian dishes. My daughter and I both had Borsch Soup and split a savory pastry dish. Lots of outdoor seating.
Quick window service. Got some Siberian pies with beef, mushroom/clear noodle, cabbage/egg to take home and they were delicious tho clear noodle can probably be subbed with onion. Cabbage/egg was a personal favorite!
It's amazing how this team was able to turn around the tyniest available space into most popular cafe in the neighbourhood. Of course, the service and the food's quality are to blame! Spasibo!
The beef stroganoff was amazing. The chicken noodle soup was flavorful. Their pastry with the fresh strawberries was. We got some of their cookies too. What we did not like was the almond cake slice. The bread was too dry. When you took a bite, it stuck to the roof of your mouth, and had no flavor to the actual bread, it tasted like sandwich bread. Really disgusting actually. Their frosting was good so I see potential. Since most of everything was delicious, I had to give 5 stars. The lady at the register could be nicer. We felt rushed and didn't have time to look at the menu. There is a huge line that moves at average pace. If they would have online menus or a menu to look at whole you wait, that would have been appreciated. My family and I would have probably got more food and definitely drinks. That's how rushed we felt, we all forgot to order drinks. The old woman behind the register looked miserable and the young ladies were just waiting around. Definitely would have preferred not to be rushed, specially since it was my first time. We will be back though.
WOW this exceeded my expectations. Got the lamb and rice soup and it just about moved me to tears - so delicious and rich and wholesome. Delicious house made bread and pastries as well. Run don't walk here if you like eastern European flavors.
Looking for something appetizing and different? This is your spot. Very highly recommended online and it definitely earns it rave reviews. Try the piroshki (pan fried is awesome!)
Cinderella in the Richmond District is my go to spot for Russian Piroshki and Kompot. I’ve been coming here for years and always been warmly greeted. Never stop believing in Fairy Tales.
I had a peroshki with beef snd smoked gorgonzola cheese. It was delicious, but I liked the Borscht even more! Real home tasting with a little pizzas. The sprinkle of dill on the tip of the sour cream in the Borscht was the extra step they take in all of their dishes. I heard a lot of Russian being spoken in queue, if that tells you anything. I will take photos next time I go there.
First time trying Russian food! Great spot I can see why there is a line all the time! Definetly have to find russian food back home now that my eyes have been opened!
