Citizen Canine

I love Citizen Canine and have been boarding and using their day care services for several years. They love dogs and are kind to people too! I highly recommend. They are easy to get to, with quick access off the I-80.

My fur baby has been intermittently been a part of the Citizen Canine family for almost 2 years now. The handlers are so good with him. My boy can be socially challenged and these guys really cater to his needs and makes his experience so much more fun! They are super attentive and always answer the phone, very helpful especially when you just want to check on your fur baby. When you are scheduled to come in, they post your fur baby’s name on a board as you come in, making it super special. My boy enjoys his stay every time! Would highly recommend!

My dog loves this place, and he seems to really love the people. They are so kind and really loving towards my dog. He can't wait to get out of the car whenever we drive into the parking lot. I highly recommend this location if you have a dog.

Took our pup Jack in last Saturday for daycare while we went on a day trip to the American River. Jack is a rescue dog and has some separation anxiety from being left at the shelter for a month by his old family. We had hoped Jack would take well to playing with other dogs during play groups. Alas he would not leave his room the entire time he was there. Staff here were very responsive in letting us know what was going on without being prompted. Biggest bonus was no charge for the day care since our poor Jack refused to participate in any play group or leave his room. Really can't speak enough on how kind and professional the staff are at Citizen Canine. 10/10 would repeat again.

All the staff seem to genuinely love dogs, and they get to know the personalities and quirks of every dog. Once there was an emergency with one of my dogs, and they did everything absolutely right, with so much love, and detailed reporting to me. I wouldn’t want to leave my babies anywhere else!

Left my pup there for few days while I was out of town. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and took good care of him. Daily updates when I called to put me as ease whole across the country! Definitely would recommend.

I had a great experience on the phone and via e-mail getting set up for our visit; they seem very organized and helpful. The woman at the desk when I came in for the first time could have been friendlier; she basically took my dog and ran. I was feeling a little nervous and I had to ask to see the space since I had never been there before. At pick-up, the desk person was much friendlier and my dog was super happy and it seems to have gone well. Looking forward to using them again.

Boarding was needed for an emergency situation. Citizen Canine came to the rescue and was able to short term board my senior companion. Extra care was given including administering a special diet. When followup phone calls were made to check on him during his stay staff was very accommodating. When I picked him up for check out, he was happy and not stressed out. A 5 star rating is well deserved.

Awesome staff that love dogs. Always a pleasure to board here. The only place where our Brandy has an appetite!

Staff is friendly and they take great care of your pet. Our dog is older, has special needs, and is not sociable with other dogs. The staff walked us through the setup and took great care of our dog. Definitely plan to come back when we travel again.

Baxter and I love the staff at Citizen Canine. The service is excellent and I have recommended their services to friends and colleagues. You never have to worry about your pet baby in their care.

Great experience! My senior dog has a regimen of meds and supplements and they took all my notes and took great care of my guy! They even have this adorable chalk board out front that welcomes the pets coming in, and says farewell to the pets getting picked up. My dog got a report card at the end of his stay about how he handled everything.

My dog was happy at the end of his stay, so we'll definitely be back and will try some of the add on packages that they offer.:)

Excellent boarding/daycare facility with a lot of animal expertise in health and behavior. Our dog was at first shy, but quickly became very comfortable with the daily routine and friendly staff. He really enjoys coming here.

We have been boarding our dogs at Citizen Canine for thirteen years. They are always ready to go in when we dropped them off and always come home happy. We can only assume they ENJOY their stay. The staff is wonderful and you can tell they really care for the dogs and enjoy their jobs.

The best place for dog boarding and day care! When my dog got sick and they could not reach me, they took him to our veterinarian and got the care and medications needed. They took great care of our dog, going above and beyond what I would have expected. I cannot think of a better place for our dog when we are traveling.

Citizen Canine is a fantastic resource for dogs and their families. The Citizen Canine folks took excellent care of my dog while I needed to be out of the country for two weeks. It was wonderful and reassuring for me to be able to call or email to check on her while I was gone. My dog will go on “hunger strikes” when she is stressed. The staff realized that she would eat more happily with human or canine company and were flexible and accommodated her eating style. This was so wonderful.
