City Sports Club reviews
26Great layout. There is plenty of space if you want to do a low weight workout away from the main areas. The showers are not kept up well during the day. If you are signing up just do it online so you don’t have to deal with the more you pay now the less you pay later.
City sports is an exceptional workout spot. Will be back for sure due to their clean equipment and nice staff.
This 5 star review is for Brandon who greets us at the door every morning. What a great hard working young man
This is actually a decent gym for a commercial, non fitness/powerlifting/bodybuilding freak gym - clean, friendly staff, etc. The poor review is due to managements' decision to not abide by CDC guidance in lifting the mask requirements for vaccinated per local, state and federal rules is really befuddling as it opens them up to liability. It is dangerous to lift hundreds of pounds over your chest, on your back, or over your head with a mask on. If you desire to workout without a mask, this is not the place for you. If you are one of the California sheeples wishing to wear a mask ad nauseum, have fun with fogged up glasses from your mask causing you to drop weight on your head.
This place has taken a turn for the better after Covid with safety measures being enforced and cleanliness unlike before. The manager Jaz is taking care of all his people and definitely has a more attentive and caring team on the ground. Great work guys!
As a former Assistant General Manager at this location some would say that I'm bias but nevertheless this location is the best gym in the bay area. The equipment is in supreme condition, the training staff which roams the floor are more than helpful with any questions one would have regarding technique, advice or proper usage of the equipment. The bathrooms are always clean. They have more than enough space (45000 square feet) to fulfill your workout even at peak hours (Monday -Thursday 5 - 9). The price per month is competitive and relatively a bargain considering most other gyms condition is sub par when thinking about cleanliness. Overall this is a great establishment to further ones health and fitness needs.
Super clean with lovely staff and wonderful fellow gym goers. Props to the maintenance and cleaning team members, their hard work really shows!
Absolutely love this gym. I am 70 and people welcome all people here. Even disabled people. Not at all like a "HE MAN GYM" PLUS the classes and instructors are great. I wish they had bathing suit dryers in the ladies dressing room. Plus I wish they offered Ballroom dancing lessons for exercises. That would be lots of FUN.
Large space, rarely have to wait for a machine. The equipment is well maintained and the locker room, shower areas are cleaned regularly. Their music doesn't drown out your music when you're wearing headphones. A bit pricey to sign up.
It is a nice place. It is fully equipped. I got my guest pass to try it out and when went, I was told I had to signup with $120 initial fee before I get to use my free guest pass. Two days later, they called and offered me to use the guest pass without commitment. Customer service needs improvement.
I'm just on the free 5 day pass for now, but plan to join - good and big clean gym with a ton of machines, basketball and racketball courts, yoga studio, jacuzzi, sauna, swimming pool.i've gone at 5am when it opens, which is great, not a lot of people around, but even 5pm is still do-able, but more crowded.sign up online and they waive the initiation fee.the $40/month is easily worth it, imho
Just moved to Bay area couple weeks ago. In general, this gym is nice in terms of the facilities it provides. I also purchased the personal training and I regret it now!
The guy who sells me the training service told me how he is going to help me reach my goal balabala. After I paid, he didn't show up on the first two apportinments and just ignored me. First time he said he car didn't start. I sent him multiple texts to reschedule the appointment, he didn't response me at all. I catch him in another City Sport location after a week. He said he was sick for the entire week. I believed him, and schedule an appointment with him, and he didn't show up at all. Of course I texted him, no response again!
Total Eff Boy gym if you know what I mean. This gym is infested with funny boys that try to make passes at us straight dudes. I was going to bomb on a Filipino eff boy for having the nerve to come up and flirt like the funny weirdo he is. I want to use the F-word for the certain group I'm referring to, but I don't want my review deleted. Don't go to this City Sports location unless you want funny vibes your way. Go to the South Side one.
Good gym with all the equipment I need. Clientele spans a large age range. They could do a better job keeping the locker rooms cleaner.
Would it kill somebody to clean those showers with bleach. There's mold and mildew everywhere. Once a week will do the trick.
I came at 7: 25 and they wouldn’t let me in because the close at 8. Dang I couldn’t hit the tread meal. They should just advertise online that they close at 7: 30.
Equipment is nice of course sound like they don't know how to keep the place clean was quite filthy
Some Local managementSome local clubhouse is running downShowers is low on H2O pressureequipments
Customer sevice is the worst.especially Ellen the manager. I'd rather pay extra 30$ monthly for better attitude
The cancellation process is the real workout, I feel like I get off a few lbs doing it. Their online service is soooo bad they need you to come into the gym to use the local system.
Some part-time staffs are friendly; but the managers and customers service works by the book, strictly by the book; they are so inflexible.
