Civic Center Park, Vista CA

Good that they trimmed the bushes, but we still have vagrants that mess up the park. Cameras may be nice.

Vista has really done such a great job with their walking trails it’s beautiful

Are you looking for a place to bring your kids so that they can ride their bikes and scooters but you don’t want to have to worry about watching them on the playground? Civic Center Park is perfect for that! It is a city park with no play structures but does have a beautiful paved walkway where you can take your kids for a stroll. It’s right next to the Vista Library so if you want a break from the sun, you can take your kids inside for a little air conditioning. The butterflies and landscaping provide pretty scenery and there were 3 big fire engines in the parking lot which my son thought were prime time! If you want to do a little activity with the kids as you walk around, you can create a scavenger hunt for them where they have to find all the statutes of the little kids playing. We found 4 (a kid reading, one riding a bike, kids walking over a log with their dog behind them, and kids riding in a tortoise). My son also enjoyed “feeding the turtle” rocks. The total length of the sidewalk is only 0.20 miles in one direction but you can make your walk longer by completing a loop all the way around the perimeter of the civic center or going down the switch back path to the outdoor atrium.

If you let google bring you to “civic center park”, you’ll be lead to a neighborhood in a cul de sac. The easiest way to access the park is by parking in the upper lot of the Civic Center off Alta Vista Drive. Although, if you park in the library parking lot or the lower Civic Center lit, you can also easily access the park.

What a gorgeous day. The south west corner of Civic Center Park has breathtaking views of both the Vista skyline and Vistas hottest men on clear sunny days.
