Clear Lake State Park reviews
16The park is really cleaned up and had a good atmosphere. Granted the waters low right now because of our drought it was really clean water and wasn't stinky funny experience. We added bonuses that they're one of the 19 state parks in California that allow you and your family to get in free if you have a child in fourth grade with a library card. To those of you that are unaware about the state parks in California allowing you free day passes if you have a child in the fourth grade with a library card it's called adventure access California State Park look it up it's probably worth it. To the park rangers out there working hard to keep it clean, keep it up good job!
Beautiful Lake and nice hiking trails. The picnic is located by the lake. There are tent camping sites, cabin camping, and RV camping.
Beautiful place to bring your kids to play Take a Walk looking at the lake sit down have a cup of tea read a book nice quiet and Serene
An unexpected experience. Full of dangers, crocodiles, and weird stuff. Totally recommended, be aware of moving dunes.
Awesome place for camping around the beautiful lake. We had opted cabin stay and totally worth it. Cabin was clean with AC, but make sure to carry air beds. Showers, bathrooms were clean and well maintaining campground. Perfect place for a family outing.
We enjoyed our visit to Clear Lake State Park. It is very clean and has very friendly and helpful staff. The lake was very low though. We hope the rains come soon.
Nice park, incredibly dry.not sure if because of water consumption by local walnut farmers.maybe comes to life more in winter/spring when it isn't so dry? Seemed like the park was full of dead trees
Very nice camping areas and hiking areas, but can be quite loud, especially with children running around. Still quite pleasant though.
Clearlake State Park is a well kept park. Fishing was great in the past, not so much anymore. It is unfortunate that the water level decreases daily. It can smell in the summer months. There is a rv dump for your blackwater.
* I was walking along many of the trails and noticed a camera (camouflaged hunting camera) tied to a tree, pointed towards the campgrounds. I found this curious, and still don't know what to make of that.
The older lady at the check in station yelled at us because we simply turned back into the park after asking her a question. She yelled "I guess people feel privileged! " Your not supposed to do that! " Excuse me mam.this is our first time to this park. With children in the car and considering the current times. I'd like to rate 1 star on customer service and 1 star on access to water.
Lovely atmosphere and campsites. Everything looked pretty well kept up, including bathroom facilities and garbage. Campsites were clearly marked and roads were nice. A lot of noise from rowdy families until 11 but after that it was mostly quiet.
The park is beautiful. Restrooms and showers are very well kept. Showers are operated by state parks coin. Kinda expensive. Not a very dog friendly park. Dogs are limited to basically the parking lot, but the rangers are very kind, knowledgeable, and care about the safety of the visitors and the park. Doesn’t seem like a very busy place. Camp sites have always been available.
There is nothing to do in the area, the lake is unswimmable, lifeguards are very condescending. The upper bay view campground is horribly shaded, the bathrooms were not working. Only redeeming factor is that there is cell service at the campground.
Nice lake and campgrounds. Visitor center has nice displays and activities for all age group. Clean restrooms and nice trails for families.
Stumbled upon this park while house hunting in Kelsyville. It was very clean, will staffed and just a beautiful park to visit.
I was just here for a short time, but worth the $8 for day use! You can camp here, but would have to be self contained in your RV or camper.no hook ups.
Lots of local wildlife, beautiful trees and of course the lake surrounds the park (for most of it) very nice place to visit.
