I have been to multiple treatment centers and cliffside is a place that will save your life if you use all the support and knowledge they give you to get clean. I can tell you that it’s a place that is in the trenches with you to get better and save your life. They help you feel safe and never alone.it starts from the housekeepers to the chefs.the staff that drives you to all your appointments.to the airport and pick you up when you return.the staff at your residential house to the staff at your sober living. I spent 8 months there and when I had a hard time getting off subutex I was not respectful to the staff a lot but they don’t judge and they get in the fight with you and pep you up and tell you that you got it. I came from another state and got sick with some heart stuff and went into the hospital and you would think I would have been alone but I had so much staff that check on you and show I had support even though my family was 2200 miles away. I hope someone reads this and gets the same chance I got to get my life back.they can’t do it for you but your definitely put in the best situation to get life back on track! Thanks cliffside from housekeeping-chefs- therapist- case manager- office staff- nursing- Jackie with alumni all the group facilitators - office staff to name a few!

". The safest, individualized, and most comfortable and effective experience possible while at Cliffside Malibu. " is not just a marketing slogan but the way they do business here.
I would recommend Cliffside to anyone wanting to be free of addiction and looking for a place where they truly care about YOU. They took care of my health comprehensivly, including medical needs, as part of helping me heal wholly and completely.
The food is ok but let's not kid, it isn't 5 stars.

I dont remember researching or deciding on cliffside, I was out of my mind and not hopeful that anything in my life could get better. Drugs and alcohol had stole everything from me, my wife, my, kids, my sense of purpose. Suicide had crossed my mind and I have never been in that dark of a place before. They say it gets worse, never better, this illness is progressive. I believed I could do it on my own. Even though I had failed 15 times to achieve this unrealistic dream.

Then came the experience that has changed my life, my stay at the sunset house. This exerience was eye opening. My first group I attended showed me I still had a lot to learn even though I had been through treatment 15 times before this. I met genuine people that showed me compassion and understanding, which take it from me, is not normal of any rehab I have been to. I knew this experience would be different. I was cared for and attended to. Any issue I shared was quickly resolved. Not only did the therapists that I saw frequently help me, they gave me what I needed to open up and change my thought proccess. The difference this time was being willing and open minded. I knew this was my last chance, I truly was defeated and had no belief that anything would ever work for me. I will be forever indebted to this amazing organization.

Please know if you are reading this, it works! I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I love everyone that I worked with and they all helped in some way. Recovery is possible and today I believe in myself and the dad I know I am. My children need me and I cannot wait to give them that father, the one who is present, sober and happy.

Thank you to the staff and the therapists, case managers, and most importantly the founder! Without this place I would quite possibly be dead today

Ever notice how every five star comment reads like it was written by the same person? That's because they're not real reviews. Not the place to go.

This place truly saved my life and help me turn everything around. The staff and people I met were remarkable from my 1st call with my admissions counselor. I couldn’t be more grateful for you all. I love each of you dearly and could never thank you enough for the help you have given me

I have heard great things about this facility, and I am going to help sigh up at least 50 people to get treatment.

This place is a scam. Cash grab. See May, 2018 John Oliver video on YouTube. You'll see the truth.

They just drug people up with other drugs. I'm basing this off of my friend who is good at playing victim and not good at getting clean. Anti depressants, anti anxiety blah blah blah. Help them cope and get clean rather then drugging them up.

Every single person involved in the running of this business should be ashamed of themselves for enabling this morally corrupt ponzi scheme to continue to take advantage of people at their lowest point. Don't believe the rehab review sides they OWN (the Fix and Rehab Reviews). There's also nothing to stop them from falsifying any of the reviews you see here. Find doctors that care about you and your future, not vultures after you and your family's money because they can't bother to create legitimate sources of income of their own.

First off I want to say that part of the time I did have here was nice. Second off I need to say that beware;; this place will drop and evict you without warning!

Like some others have said they will prob know exactly who this is but oh well! I spent my time at both Access and Big Ho and let me tell ya - not all sunshine and rainbows here. First off the staff (accept for literally 1 or 2 people) do not care and they will go out of the way to do the bare minimum for you. Next, the food is terrible. I gained weight because all I could eat were the snacks they had in the house. They also will stop your programming if you’re not making them enough money. This happened to me and many others. The leader of Big Horizon should be fired and not allowed to work in treatment ever again (R.) He was rude, unethical Nd not one person staff included respected him.

Positives? Alexa at Big Horizon is one of the greatest people I have ever met. She went above and beyond every single day to help me in my recovery and make sure I was okay. Also Damien. He made groups were meaningful and helpful for us and I got a lot out of our time together (The 1 or 2 I was talking about literally)

Good times and bad but definitely not like the commercials you see on tv. Take your chances on this place and hope you get a better ending then me.

First and foremost. FRANCENE IN ADMISSIONS SHOULD BE FIRED! SHE IS NOTHING BUT A HASBEEN CAR SALESMAN AND THE WORST LIAR I HAVE EVER MET. NOW THE STAFF MAKES ME SICK, BUT YOU ABSOLUTELY DISGHUST ME.

Please read this whole review, it will make a huge difference in your decision! And feel free to email me if you need any more info.

This was by far the worst experience of my life. There are two of us writing this review, both of us experienced basically the same thing. I’m sure they know who is writing this, but quite frankly, I don’t care. Although it started out well, the first week or so, then the lies started. Now don’t get me wrong, there were a handful of good people there, but by a handful, I mean 5 or so. Trust me, you’re going to need more than that to help in your recovery.

We were initially told that we would spend about 30 days in detox, and PHP. While in detox, I can say, that Stephanie is one of the most rude, condescending liars I have ever come in contact with. I seriously almost left because of her. In the kind of mindset I was in at the time, I just had enough of her attitude and lies. If they’re going to continue to employ her, they need to move her into a position in which it’s later in the clients sobriety, so they can tolerate her easier.

After about a week and a half for one, and 2 1/2 weeks for the other, we were abruptly moved to a completely different part of the facility. And by abruptly, I mean they informed the night before we were moved. This happened with every client that I spoke with. Some were kept much longer, and some were kept for a shorter amount of time. But the main issue, was that they continued to lie about when and where clients were in the stages of therapy. EVERYONE was frustrated by this. And I can promise you this, after researching their reasoning, I discovered in at least a few of us, it was all about money. It had absolutely nothing to do with what we were ready for. And trust me, the move to the different facility was EXTREMELY stressful for us all.

As far as the houses, they were OK, but nothing like they try to portray them in photos. The food, was hideous, unless you like hard chicken and rubbery fish. On very few occasions would they serve anything but that. Most of us lost weight during our stay.

Getting medication, was like pulling teeth sometimes. There were always lines that took a very long time, and most every time, the staff was nowhere to be found. Most of the time they were out of sight so they weren’t bothered.

There was very little supervision of the clients, so there was a lot of theft, arguments, and sometimes outright fighting. And as far as the staff is concerned, the most common phrase that we always heard was, “that’s above my pay grade”, and a relentless amounts of “I don’t know” and of course blaming someone else was like a sport to them.

While in PHP and IOP, after we were moved, there were clients complaining several times per week, about being told that their time was almost over. And believe me, it wasn’t a discussion that we would have with a Therapist or Doctor, it was usually an RA slipping up and telling the client. There were also several instances that a client was only given a couple days notice, and sometimes less than that, that their time was up and they needed to make arrangements to go home or somewhere else. It was absolutely B. S.that clients were worked with, to determine a clear plan for going home, and having a safe Exit Plan. It’s almost like they wanted people to relaps, so they would have to come back.

Please read my next review, about the unexpected fire damage, and the absolute definition of CHAOS. Every one of them had lives in their hands, and all they wanted to do was to get them discharged and out of their hair. Trust me, we saw the other side of them. THEY DONT CARE! Not about anyone but themselves.

Watch "Rehab: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO) " on YouTube to find out everything about this horrible place and how they steal money from their clients. The owner seems to have no soul.

Watched the vice interview and the owner had kept a defensive posture when asked difficult questions. This makes me very uneasy when families are needing their loved ones in rehab and they have to spend life savings on this. For all they know, the owner could be lying through his teeth just to get more money. Scam!

This is an incredible place doing extremely important and impactful work. I hope you and yours never need their services, but if you do you’ll be happy and feel blessed they exist.

Cliffside's treatment model is highly successful because it encompasses mind, body and spirit. Simply the best treatment available.
