Clovis Stone Masonry & Landscape Supply reviews
14 I contacted them immediately upon discovering that we had a significant amount of rocks left over from our project. I then ran calculations and cross checked it with an online calculator and only needed 1.64 tons but was charged for 4.75 tons.
When I initially walked into their office to purchase rocks, I was under the assumption that they were doing honest business and ran honest calculations. I understand they are not licensed contractors but they are in the business of selling rocks and making honest estimates. They took my measurements and made an estimate of what I needed, saying I needed 4.75 tons. I had no idea that I was agreeing to a fraudulent estimate by 3.11 tons! That is a lot of extra rocks and money.
They have tried to put the blame on me the whole time stating that their guy Richard has never made an error in the 30 years he’s been employed. They said I miscalculated or that I gave them the wrong measurements etc etc. And of course, when I last spoke to the office manager about this issue, I told them to check their footage and will clearly see that Richard made a mistake. Well, she said they no longer have the footage. I wonder why!
Furthermore, they are terrible at returning calls; I have records of multiple calls and voicemails including walking in to talk to them in person. Sarah, the office manager, hung up on me mid sentence the last time we spoke and refused to return my call. The reason we have not come to an agreement is because she told me that I could sell the materials on Craigslist or shovel over 6,000 pounds of rocks by hand, rent equipment and vehicles at my own expense, and then bring it back to them. It’s not like I changed my mind and decided to not use the rocks; it was not a customer error. THEY made the mistake and a fraudulent one at that, THEY should right it.
Customer picked out stone went to pick it up paid for it and was told no returns make sure you check the stone before they load it It was not even close They return my money Make sure you check what they're loading
No loyalty or communication what so ever. Left me unettended waiting in the heat. I ask for management and kept hanging up on purpose. I wouldnt support this company. I see that its all about thereself and not customors. Then play a nice roll to make themself look good. Why do you see a low rating already. They dont care. Peeps.think twice when this ever happends to you. Its not cute and they dont look cute.
The office isn’t a warm fuzzy place but they know their stuff and get you in and out. Always a good selection and OK prices.
Customer service is absolutely awful. The ladies in the office are outstanding, but the customer service from the loaders and one gentleman in the office need to take a few courses on customer service. We waited over an hour to be loaded, seems like the priority customers are those that have spent very well with the company or friends with the company. Also to witness the loaders literally arguing with a few customers shows what kind of customer service skills they have. I’m all for small community businesses but the way they treat customers makes the other rockery businesses look very elite. I will however will do business else where, paying extra for better business treatment is worth it sometimes.
Think twice before buying your landscape needs, stones and supply from Clovis stone. Not worth the rude customer service when an issue is brought to their attention and doesn't take responsibility for the error on the business side.
I read the reviews and was hesitant but decided to give it a chance.
We Ordered close to $1,000 of stones to only have the wrong colored stones given. We chose a reddish brown color to match our landscape design, we were given a light gray with a very few specs on the stone.
I respectively brought a stone back to Clovis stone to show them the difference in color. They stated if there is a change in color within the batch that they are not responsible for the change. Female manager was rude in front of other customers while I tried to explain what we chose is clearly not the same color. See below the difference in color from the stone we picked and the stones we received. In the end, the manager stated it isn't their fault.
I highly support locally owned and small business, but this one is a lesson learn and will not do business with Clovis stone for our future landscaping need.
Be aware they also charge for a pallet fee in which you have to return the pallet and only refunded a portion amount vs the full amount. $70 for the pallet fee for our two pallets of wall blocks. Re stocking fee also applies.
DON’T SHOP HERE! First time doing a stone veneer project. Bought 143 square feet and ended up getting shorted 36 square feet. I was polite and notified Clovis stone. They would not correct the issue even after I sent multiple emails with videos of my measurements and pictures showing that they had shorted me.
They don’t call you back and they don’t find resolve. The best the owner could do was give me 15% off to repurchase the amount of stone they never gave me.
Clovis stone boasts having been in business for over 30 years. But I later came to find out through some older folks that after the original owner (that established a good reputation) passed away. His step kids took over the business and care only about money and nothing about customer service or fairness. They’ll cheat you out of your money with a smile on their face.
I should’ve know better and looked at their Yelp reviews. They are repping a measly 2.5 stars.
I walked into the showroom for the first time and was greeted by a pleasant person by the name of Grace. She was very informative and helpful and provided multiple quotes as I was trying to figure out the details of my project.
I also saw that they are supportive of veterans and first responders.
Overall I was impressed with my first impressions.
I will look forward to my delivery.
My project is 25 tons of river rock
Awesome place to go if you need stonework our Landscaping ground covering they have everything you need and the employees are there any professional
Stay away from this place. We ordered 70 square foot of stone to do some backyard decor. We received only 40 feet only. And we called to tell the people there they said that’s the way it is. And you have to use grout to fill the space. We tried to speak with the manager but they refused to respond. Totally unacceptable
Not a competitor, not a continuous customer. This place has a lot of potential. Two problems that I see.
Poor customer service
The company culture seems to be off
Four or five guys looking at one guy work while you have six customers waiting in line.
Everyone is sweeping the floors instead of moving the tractors and completing orders.
Pay the employees more or give them incentives.
Pay them more if they complete a certain amount of orders in a month.
You take care of your employees they will take care of your business. I don’t blame employees, I blame management and the owners. The employees are just a reflection of their management style.
These cats are pretty organized, actually they're very well organized and efficient.
Wide range of materials and very good prices.
No need to look elsewhere, I've already done that for you.
Bought products here before, but NEVER AGAIN!
There were absolutely no one inside the office I was the only customer there, with 3 people behind the counter, they all just looked at me and one even said hold one just a moment were busy, soon as I get called up I took out a sample of some gravel I was looking for and he quickly interrupted me scoldingly saying “all we carry are on the display outside” but as soon as I mentioned I was needing over 150 tons of it he quickly changed his attitude and wanted my info
Talked to some other guys and same experience they discriminate Hispanics there
Had a similar problem as the other one star rating. Called and ordered two pallets. Only problem was they delivered one, on the invoice it says two pallets, no worries, honest mistake, only problem was they had the audacity to try to charge me for a second delivery fee of $225.00. Long story short, if they make a mistake, they will make YOU pay for it.
