I reserved my first class with Club Pilates (through ClassPass), the CP Reformer Flow 1 class, on a Friday at 3pm. Parking is pretty easy, but I could see it getting more crowded there. I was surprised to find the class pretty full in the middle of the day. Most patrons were a little older than me, like by 20 years.

The studio was very clean, and I liked the blue lights on the ceiling, the overall setup and equipment. Colleen, the instructor, welcomed me in and asked if I had done Pilates before (and where), put some stuff in a cubby and found a reformer.

Class started right on time and maybe about 10mins in while I'm on my back, and my feet are repping on the reformer bar, Colleen calls out to ask if I have toe socks. I tell her no, as it wasn't on the reservation email (picture attached). She tells me, pretty condescendingly, "If you've been to any Pilates class (which she knows I have), you'd know that toe socks are required anywhere. " I then say, "Actually, I've been to others where they don't, " and she shoots back, "Well, they should. It's a safety issue. You can buy some here for $20. " Yeah, no thanks.

Since I've been using ClassPass (to try out studios and see which ones I mesh best, and for the variety), there have been TWO specific instances in the last two weeks alone where I go to a Pilates class, and people are wearing shoes (one time, the instructor literally wore hightop Converse) or nothing. I'm not saying that's right, I'm just saying I JUST started doing Pilates 3 weeks ago! Since this class had the word "Flow" in the name and the email says to wear yoga clothes, I thought it might incorporate yoga, and I don't like to practice yoga in socks, so I didn't bring any. AND the freakin' email did not state to bring toe socks!

The class was decent, but I could have been more challenged. Maybe the next level up would be more of a sweat / workout / tone / challenge opportunity, but I will never know.

I would have considered going back, but I was not a fan of how Colleen spoke to me like I was a complete idiot for something that wasn't necessarily all my fault. After the class, I showed her the email that says nothing about toe socks, just so she was informed because other newcomers to Pilates (or first-timers to this studio) will have no idea that toe socks are required.

Colleen says, "Well, I'm not in charge of that, so I'm just telling YOU that you need to bring socks next time. " HA, "next time". Right. Not with that attitude. It was like she's a nun with a wrist-slappin' habit. Can't win.

She should have said, "Hey, thank you for pointing that out. I'll pass this message along to the person whose responsible for the ClassPass reservation messages so we avoid this in the future. " She did smile, but it didn't read as friendly.

I'm grateful to have been allowed to finish the class under Colleen's rule, but dang, take some responsibility for the studio communication fail. I prefer Be Fit in Laguna Niguel so far - hit them up.

My first class was amazing. The instructors truly cared about my experience and made sure I was using proper form and techniques.

I absolutely love Pilates! They have been very responsible with Covid 19 and maintaining a form mask rule and outdoor classes available.
All the teachers and the GM Christina are angels here!
I had signed up before we had the shot down and they still froze my membership and didn’t use my membership months towards closed months!
They are very considerate of our prior injuries, diseases and limitations.
There is real affectionate here!
Please try this place! There is multiple locations that share the same membership. So if you can’t get in one, you can book another. Just a little drive away!
Hugs guys! Love you

I love club pilates! I feel like I have so much more energy after I started pilates. The instructors here are amazing and they really help you in every class. I love how I can go to class 5 times a week and I will be doing a different series everyday so I never get bored. Thank you so much Club Pilates!
