Cocina Del Carmen reviews
15The food has never disappointed. I would highly recommend it especially if you live in the area. The owner puts a lot of love in what she makes.
I've been to dinner twice; In one I ordered “Chile Relleno” it is delicious since the chile is poblano, it was fresh, the filling was fresh cheese and the topping was natural egg, the black beans were delicious and the rice too, the flavor is the most homemade I have ever had. Eaten.
The second time I ordered “Roles chicken and potato tacos ” also everything delicious, it is food with fresh vegetables.
The sauces they give have a homemade flavor.
As for the prices, I think they are super good, they are fair.
Chase came off very authentic with a modern twist. I personally got the beauty of pizza and it was amazing. You are for sure to have leftovers
Their specialty dishes are where they shine!
You want to enjoy this restaurant seating down and enjoying yourself.
They have football on the TV and cold bar on tap.
The basics are basic. I can get a cheap burrito elsewhere.
Been meaning to go there for along time and finally made it. Had fresh made chile rellenos and appetizers. Carmen and Gary tip notch. Craft brews and margaritas. Eat here asap.
The food and service was GREAT. The food was very delicious I had a delightful chorizo with little pieces of potatoes mixing in torta. The service was outstanding wonderful very nice and helpful with anything we needed. Five Star Service, I will go back for sure.
My family eats here once per week (sometimes more). The food is top notch, it comes out super fast, the flavors are unmatched by any other spot in the area. The majority of restaurants are spotty at best these days but, Cocina Del Carmen delivers quality, freshness, great service, and taste every time and we've not been disappointed yet!
It is a charming place and above all with delicious food. I am a somewhat fussy person when it comes to cleanliness, so I was afraid to discover a new place, even more so at this time that I am pregnant; but everything was perfectly clean, the table from where it was was visible to the kitchen which looked clean and orderly, and the dishes were delicious and homemade. All very close to beautiful Oaxaca.
Been here about 10 times in the past 6 months. Great food, great drinks and fair prices.the owner pretty much can go off menu if you see something you would like different during preparation which is a great plus. I usually give it 5 stars but the service today was a little off and I'm sure it will be right back to par. Everyone one has their days where they may not be at 100. Definitely will be coming back soon.
Friendly staff & atmosphere. Order to go taken as soon as I walked in and took approx 15'. Carne Asada burrito was excellent.
We are big fans of molcajeta so my wife and I had to try this place. They have 5 on the menu! We had the Trapichero, which has grilled chicken, steak, pork, chorizo, and cactus, with cheese, avocado and green onions, swimming in a delicious sauce. Excellent! Substantial too, with some leftover for us to take home and enjoy again. Big menu of other things I would love to try too. Lots of departures from the standard "stuff wrapped in a tortilla" fare that most places have. The one star ding on atmosphere is because the place is just bare walls and got a little loud.
Best Mexican food in San Diego. After living in Mexico for years, this is the closest I've come to authentic flavors and great tasting food.
My family is from Oaxaca and it is tough to find restaurants that serve that style of Mexican food. I could taste a lot of traditional ingredients in the food. It really brought me home. Would highly suggest this to anyone who is interested in trying Oaxaca style food.
I had the Tlayuda Oaxaqueña dish. It had a lot of cabbage then I would normally eat in any dish. I wish the meat portion were equally to the size of Tortilla. I mean if wrap it up like a burrito you would be disappointed meat to tortilla ratio with a lot cabbage filler. The Carne was overly seasoned. The pork was lightly seasoned. Service was great ambiance ok.
