I recommend this shop for the good customer service and price value that comes with buying a board here.

Customer service example: Bought a board here that ended up being too advanced for me and they let me swap it out for a beginner board and refunded me the difference.

Price value example: While you can likely find boards for less on Facebook Marketplace, they give you about half off repairs if you buy your board from them so when you inevitably ding your board, but don’t want to replace it quite yet, it’s great to have this discount.

Rolled into here from Vancouver, Canada. Headed to Baja, Mex with my friend. We were looking for board that would be ideal for a learner. The staff was very friendly and we were there for maybe an hour. We had a hard time choosing a board. At the very end one staff member offered up this board at the front desk and said this is a good one. He said to make an offer on it and that it was sealed and ready to ride. We offered $200 and they countered at $250. So we bought it. Headed to Baja.

When we got to Baja we noted that the board had some damage and water was coming out of it when we pushed down on it. Then found several more dents that would basically make this board unfit to ride.

There is 1 guy in Todo Santos, Mex that fixes boards and he advised it would be $200 to fix the board.

We messaged the Staff on instagram advising the situation and if they would assist in helping us pay for the damage. Since they had reassured me and my friend that this board was ready to ride / had been fixed / was a great starter.

The response back was that it wasn’t their fault we chose a faulty board. That they would help pay for some but not the full cost of the repair.

As we appreciate that the staff would be okay to assist with some of the repair costs, the communication relayed to us wasn’t kind.

Us, as it was clearly not rideable. From the notes we received here in Todo the board had not been repaired at all to any of the damage. As well when we bought the board they said we could return it if the board was faulty to which we said we are just travelling through and would not be returning. It would be an expensive trip to drive back from Todo Santos to San Diego just to do a swap on a board that should have never been sold.

All in all. I’ll never shop at Coconut Peet’s again. Nor will I advise others too.

As a business owner myself, it’s not about being cool or making money it’s about the quality and effort put into your product and the honesty given to your customers.

Best place to buy your surfboard! Bought a used board there and started learning surfing with it. They bought it back from me when I left the country again.

Great experience purchasing a cool 1980s single fin longboard, staff was fun upbeat and very helpful and you could spend a lot of time browsing the thousands of boards.

After the first couple visits I feel like they will be my go to place forever. Not only I bought a board from them and they fixed it for absolutely free, the staff always makes me feel good. As a women, especially, you expect to get mansplained or treated as if you're a little girl in a man's world, but staff there are not like that at all. They were so excited about my ability to start carving with a new board and talked to me and my wife as we were equals, explained all technical aspects of restoring a board without patronizing. These people are family!

Coconut Peet's is my go-to place when it comes to board repair & purchasing used boards. Given that its a repair shop, you can guarantee all the used boards are going to be in excellent condition for a very good price.

I once purchased a used board off OfferUp for $75, there was a lot of dings on the board and the side fins had been ripped out. Figured I'd take it to Coconut Peet's since I've had nothing but good experiences. They glassed over where the old side fins once were, ripped out the center thruster fin which was too small for a single fin setup, installed a new finbox & turned it into a single fin setup. It's my absolute favorite board out of the 5 boards I have. I could not be more satisfied with this place.

They also hooked my buddies up with a free soft top for one of my buddies! My friend got lucky and scored on 2 old shortboards for free when they encountered a lady in the process of donating the boards to salvation army and he asked her if he could have them, which she did. He then took the boards to Coconut Peet's along with another buddy to exchange the 2 boards for 1 good condition soft top. When one of the workers discovered my other friend wanted to start learning, they threw in a second used soft top for completely free of charge! These guys make you feel cared for and they do their best to remember you and put out great vibes. Very reasonable prices for repairs and boards. Go check 'em out!

Have traded in and bought boards here multiple times over the years. Staff always nice and sharing the stoke. Great used board selection and some quality new ones too.

The shop is always my first choice on looking for boards. They are very reasonably priced, kind, and knowledgeable about boards. Have a huge selection. Its continued to be my favorite spot consistently for the last four years.

Sweet shop! Super nice people who work there, and one even went above and beyond to help de- wax my board! Would go back for any future repairs
