Hands down the best therapist I've had in 13 years of therapy. Her goal is to help you heal where you depend on therapy less and that's exactly what happened with me. She caught and diagnosed things that had been missed by 4 other therapists over a 9 year period. This allowed me to FINALLY get a plan that worked and heal. I feel like a normal human now instead of stuck in my head and suffering. I don't have panic attacks anymore, my PTSD is manageable, I have tools and coping skills that work for all my diagnoses. She also helped me through multiple surgeries and recoveries, brought humor in at appropriate times and also went deep and gave me skills to validate my emotions. She facilitated EMDR that helped break up my PTSD by creating a safe space where I could go into things that used to be off limits and heal them. The boundaries were professional but also warm. She responded to my emails quickly and would go the extra mile to send over tools. I felt very cared about in an authentic way. She is a total nerd for understanding mental health, knowledge, and understanding ALL people. From my observations, she was always taking classes, reading new books, studying, maintaining an Instagram page to affirm trans people, POC, differently abled, neurodivergent, etc. Really advocating for the marginalized and working everyday to make an impact. The other thing I appreciated was her naming any time she wasn't an "expert" on something and what book she was reading to advance in that specific thing. She was humble and confident at the same time. She came from a neutral place while asking open ended questions to guide me to my own answers vs telling or just letting me talk with no direction. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend and worth the wait to get on her waiting list.

I am a colleague of Colette Lord. In the past we have collaborated on cases, facilitated EMDR trainings, and consulted with each other. Colette is an extremely knowledgeable clinician who is always eager to learn more. She is open-minded, accepting and compassionate toward her clients. I highly recommend her as a psychologist and an EMDR consultant.

I am a colleague of Dr. Lord's and I cannot recommend her enough. She is an excellent EMDR therapist and consultant in training and really knows her stuff. But more than that, Dr. Lord is compassionate, empathetic and skilled, and creates a safe space for her clients to heal and grow. I recommend folks to her frequently and genuinely respect and admire her.

Colette Lord is amazing! I have had the honor of working together with her as a facilitator at an EMDR training so I know her work first hand. She is competent, caring and compassionate- three things you would want your therapist to have for sure. Her knowledge about EMDR relating to the LGBTQIA+ community is cutting edge and she trains other therapists in this, too. I recommend her to anyone I can who wants a kind therapist who is all around a wonderful person!
