Colony Club Restaurant, Palm Springs CA

Drinks, food, service, and vibes are all outstanding. We had the saffron risotto - incredible - and the suckling pig, which was also amazing. The views are in incredible, and the service was so attentive - our server Yocelyn went above and beyond after offering to take photos of us, and the host Josiah was so welcoming and attentive to detail.

We went to this restaurant for my friends bachelorette. We had a big group, which meant we needed to plan with the staff ahead of time. Here are the highlights of our terrible experience:

⁃ Adriana forced us to select only four main dishes to choose from for a ‘fixed’ menu, and then gave us a menu that was presented as a three course meal, all at a fixed price. We all were pressured to order each course, not knowing it was a la carte. This was, at minimum, $150 a person. We tried to order just a few appetizers to share and was told this was not possible, it was a fixed menu and EVERYONE ‘needed’ to get an individual appetizer. She was very rude, she claimed we had to do this because of how busy they were, it was NOT busy. The entire inside of the restaurant was empty.

⁃ Service was very very slow. We had a bus planned to pick us up after 2.5 hours, and we weren’t able to eat our dessert at the table. We then had to wait to get our dessert to take home (it was awful as take out). We had to pay MORE for our party bus because we were so late to leave. We went 15-20 minutes without water at a time. Drinks were wrong. Most of us only had one drink because of how slow it all was (again, we were there for 2.5 hours).

⁃ We received a call at 10: 30pm (maybe an hour after we left) from Lourdes that they charged us incorrectly. They then proceed to ask us for another THOUSAND dollars. We found this completely unprofessional.

⁃ When they sent the itemize SECOND bill, they charged us for all of our still waters, a Prosecco toast that Fabi, our server, presented as complimentary for the bride.

⁃ Mind you, our menus were ‘custom’ and did NOT have prices. Do these people really think we would pay $100 in bottled water and $370 per bottle of Prosecco? We are not in Mexico where water is not clean…or Europe where bottled water is the custom. This is totally unacceptable.

- We were charged 25% automatically for tip, originally told 22%. Also, we were charged an additional ‘kitchen appreciation fee’ on top of the tip.

⁃ We told the restaurant that this additional bill was their error, we felt taken advantage of, and that we would not be paying the bill. At 11pm, a member of our group RECEIVED A FRAUD TEXT THAT THE RESTAURANT TRIED TO CHARGE HER CARD. This was not authorized. We called the restaurant and they denied that they tried to do this.

As a large group of young women, we felt like they saw as an easy target to take advantage of. Please check your bill before paying. They were completely unprofessional, and the food was honestly just ok.

Had a wonderful experience for dinner. The ambience was intimate and romantic. Khaleelah provided exceptional service and was absolutely wonderful. The dishes from appetizer to dessert was packed with flavor and very satisfying.

Everything was very nice but the bathroom was so dark! The lighting was very dim. Even with the lighted makeup mirror that they provided, it was next to impossible to see how my makeup looked.

Very small restaurant but the atmosphere is beautiful very “old Hollywood”. Food is good (not exceptional) and the staff were nice and helpful.

We just had dinner there last night and everything was wonderful. Josiah our served was fantastic, great recommendations and super knowledgable. Restaurant can be a bit boisterous during prime time but otherwise great. We ordered the schnitzel, deviled eggs and steak. Gluten free friendly as well.

Sat at the bar. We were there thru 3 shifts.excellent service at the bar! We didn't eat. Very nice atmosphere

Beautiful breakfasts, poolside. Super classy resort feel, good food, nice cocktails and coffee. One of my secret PS favorites!

The ambience is beautiful and the service was great but the food was extremely mediocre and very overpriced. We came for breakfast and were pretty disappointed in our meal. Recommend just coming from drinks and vibes.

Really enjoyed our visit! Started with cocktails on the patio and moved inside for dinner.

This place is beautiful inside and out. Overall a calm, chill aesthetic set beside a pool with a tropical vibe.

The service was fantastic, friendly. Overall had a great time here with friends. The prices match the decor, so that’d be my only caution. Save room for dessert!

Waiter was rude (the one Alan was shadowing, however Alan was great!) He didn’t inform us of menu items they were out of before we ordered. We waited an hour for main courses. When we asked, they were unprofessional instead of apologetic. Pretty place ruined by poor customer service and rude waitstaff.

Did not stay.but oh did we enjoy breakfast! Such a beautiful setting, warm welcome (and coffee talk with Gabriel) and solid morning food. My man went back for the "Past Present Future" cocktail. Maybe we'll stay next time of the rates aren't insane. (only 4 stars because the biscotti were mushy.nobody's perfect)

Decor was impeccable. Service was not. For the price the general consensus for food and drinks should not be “meh”.

We have been here several times before. The service was always somewhat slow but the ambience is beautiful. Food has always been well prepared. This time, for lunch, we were brought to our very nice patio table where we ordered drinks off the menu (nothing unusual). 40 minutes later they finally arrived but only after the manager became involved. We promptly ordered our main courses which then took another 40 minutes to arrive. The veggie burger my wife requested looked suspiciously like beef and was bland/ overcooked as well as sauceless. I had ordered a fried egg and mortadella sandwich with goat cheese instead of the cheddar on the menu (only change). Instead it too was dry and contained no cheese at all. Our two great friends who accompanied us had similar experiences with their orders. At the end there was only a perfunctory unemotional apology only. Lest you think our experience was unique today, two other tables near us left as well, one which never did get their even their drinks. Again, I have not had such an extreme negative experience there before but, suffice it to say, I will think long and hard about eating here unless MAJOR changes are made

Beautiful space with a very good bar. Excellent for lunch, sitting either in the beautifully decorated dining room, or by the charming pool

Honestly the worst meal for this price point we have ever had. Went on a Sunday evening with a reservation for 7ppl. Place looked beautiful. Menu looked good. We arrived and were seated promptly. Then told we had to order food and drink within 15 minutes because they were closing down. So then maybe don't take a reservation that late?
We were also told all our drinks had to be in then as well, and if we wanted any later on they should be ordered immediately as well.
Appetizers were all ok. The cornbread isnt worth $19 but it was fine.
Entrees all looked pretty bad considering the price point. $59 steak was tough and chewy and totally unsalted. The fish dish was missing fava beans and was totally totally flavorless for $44.
The pork was $56 overcooked and plated awfully
All plates were delivered so hot which meant they were just sitting in the window baking under the heat lamp. Fries were soggy and limp
Waitress was super nice which helped the real mediocre and overpriced food
Happy to pay top dollar for delicious food and cocktails. This was just so not it
Save your money and spend it elsewhere in palm springs. Chef should be embarrassed by whats coming out of that kitchen.
