Combat Krav Maga SF reviews
7Great instructors and community. I love that they also have women-only self defense classes.
Great instructors! Knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly. Great space—though the weights room is still a work in progress.
Attended the women's self defense class and it was great! Cady and Joe took great pride in teaching us how to defend ourselves, and all the techniques were practical and efficient. You can really see the sense of community that they are trying to cultivate. Super friendly people!
Amazing gym! Sensei Joel and his team are amazing and knowledgeable. We tried out the 2 free clases and it was great!
I was looking for a place that had trial classes, since I’ve never done self-defense before. This location makes it really easy to get started, offering two free trial classes and a good deal when you sign up, so it doesn’t feel like too much of a commitment starting off. I love my classes so far - I’ve only been to three, but they have been exhilarating. I already feel a little more confident, and I look forward to the classes I sign up for. Not to mention, the process for booking a class is so easy. The instructors are fantastic and supportive and the environment is lovely, and the bathrooms and locker rooms are clean, large, and well-stocked. I was especially impressed that the women’s restroom had pads and tampons available; it’s not common and I love places that add that courteous detail.
I took an intro to krav class here on classpass. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful and I loved the teacher Katie. The building is great with a locker room and showers. 10/10 would go back if it wasn't so far from home, give it a try!
This is the only place in SF with regular women's self defense classes that are practical and taught by a female instructor. As someone who has taken multiple women's self defense classes, it helps to have regular classes geared towards women since consistency is key to being able to use these skills in the real world. Other women's self defense classes are few and far between, and without practicing the same skills over and over again, I don't know if I will remember them when I need to. At the time of this review, the first class is free, then there are 10-class packs so you don't have to commit to a monthly fee if you have a busy schedule.
