Comfort Inn Santa Monica - West Los Angeles

Room was spacious, stayed in a room with 2 queen beds and still had room to move around. It was under construction so it was hard to find but parking in the back was free and about 10 mins from Santa Monica Pier, great location. Breakfast was a bit underwhelming but it was 6-10am.

This was a decent stay for one night. Only complaint is that the elevator was very small and thus forced me to use the stairs to bring some valuable items in to prevent theft. Accessing the stairs was a bit inconvenient due to the closest set to the parking lot is locked and you have to walk the long way around.

Otherwise staff was kind and made check in and out very easy.

It is OK. Hard to find the place - they're under construction (Nov 2022). Not visible from St Monica Blvd.

More like a motel than a proper hotel. Not what I'm usually used to when staying in a comfort inn.
Pros:
Updated big bathroom with nightlight. Clean.
Cons:
Door opens right to parking area. Feels unsafe. Lots of foot traffic at night. People talking which can be heard in room as if they're right next to your bed.
Room itself (1 King & 1 Queen). Carpet seems old. Would not want to take my shoes off.
Temp control. Only warm or cold option and very loud when operating.
Toilet flushes like on a cruise ship. Very noisy.
One night for four: $280. Seemed overpriced for what we received.

Hotel in construction. They should alert the travelers in advance because it really is inconvenient. Dirt everywhere, it should not be open while doing this type of remodelation.

Service is mediocre.

People at the front desk will laugh about customers who call the reception to make reservations, i have never seen this before.

Loved the layout of the hotel! Liked that you have to use your room key to get the elevator going and to get on your floor. The hotel is under construction but overall it was a great stay. Room was nice and clean.

The room stank, AC wasn’t clean and fresh. They still haven’t returned deposit ($200) and don’t answer to my messages and booking support. Avoid this hostel at any cost. Hostel underconstruction, doesn’t look good. Breakfast - haven’t eaten worst.

We'd like to acknowledge 2 people that showed us exceptional service. Luis and Irene, superior customer service, friendly, engaging and very helpful. They both made a huge difference to our stay.

The worse hotel, I don’t recommend. Is a motel with the worse stuff, and make u feel like u don’t belong there even that you’re paying for the room, the breakfast is not enough for everybody so u got a wake up early to tried to get some to eat when the options are not the best. Not recommend at all

A 5/5 for incredible value, accommodating front desk folks, cleanliness, pillow variety (seriously important), safety/security, and overall accommodations. This has been my go-to since 2007, and will continue to be my go-to Santa Monica accommodations.

I just had a long stay there. I appreciated that the staff put us in a quiet room away from the street, as I had requested in the online reservation form. I've never been disappointed when I have what I believe is a reasonable request. I consider this something of a home away from home. Grateful for this great value that I can continue to trust to be clean.

Other great aspects: excellent sink/bath drainage, plenty of very hot water (never took a cold shower), roomy mini fridge, microwave, some rooms have keurig coffee makers, comfy beds, excellent air conditioner, safety (gotta have a valid room key to get into ANY door and to make elevator work), a quiet neighborhood (unless perhaps you're in a room along SM Blvd, but there aren't many of those), AMPLE parking. Covered parking avail on first come first served.

Pool area is now much more inviting since a local artist painted beautiful geometric designs in different shades of calming blue on the wall surrounding the pool. Pool is excellently maintained!

Horrible horrible place. The guy at the front desk left my friend in an Uber passed out. Instead of calling 911 or looking for help he made the Uber lady take her somewhere else. Thank god the Uber lady was a decent human and took her to the police station for help. He screamed and yelled at them and scared that poor woman. Turns out my friend had been drugged. No thanks to this man she could have died.

Our room was good. It didn't smell bad, it was clean, and the beds were comfortable. I felt a little nervous of its location and that our truck had to be in an alley. Its location was good. Close to the pier and LA.

Comfort inn does exactly what it promises, a a reasonable price. Clean, comfortable, well layed out rooms, great breakfast with lots of variety, nice pool, lots of places to just relax and chill, all run professionally and without any hitches. A pleasure staying there for 6 nights. Right on santa monica Blvd, sp a $1.10 bus ride gets you directly to download santa monica in mintes! Great cafes and basic shopping in walking distance.

Even though the renovation is on going, we didn't hear much noise throughout our 6 nights stay. Free breakfast has good selection and nice. He whole environment is clean and neat. Carl's Jr & CVS are next door, McD is across the street. The neighbourhood surrounding are pleasant and clean.

I think we may have gotten a cheap price since they were under construction. Construction didn't bother us at all. Would stay again if the price is right.

Breakfast was a generic hotel breakfast, we ate it every day of our stay because it was convenient. Waffles, toast, cereal, powdered eggs, bacon, etc.

We used this hotel as a jumping off point to get to the Santa Monica/ Venice beaches, Malibu, and downtown. The free parking at the hotel and cheaper room made up for any parking we needed to pay for at the destination.

I wouldn't reccomended staying here without a rental car, but we didn't attempt to take transit so maybe it's good enough.

This hotel was okay. Its not like the usual hotels we stay in. So with that said the ratings threw us off a little. For the price we paid we should've had better.
