We have been taking our dogs to Companion Animal Hospital for more than 6 years. Saturday our 16 year old toy poodle was attacked by two dogs. I tried calling but got voicemail and no return call. Because it was an emergency we drove right over with a dog in a bloody towel. They wouldn’t even look at her. They sent us away. I called Insight and they said that we could come there but there was a 4-5 hour wait. The minute they saw her they treated her bites and fractured ribs immediately. My own vet of 6 + years wouldn’t even take the time to look at her. We aren’t sure of her recovery but I can guarantee you that we will never use Companion again. Clearly they don’t care.

If you’re looking for a vet that cares about your pets and does things because they’re the right thing to do, not the most profitable, this is the place. I switched to Companion and vet Dr. Felton after leaving a different place that didn’t feel right. From the first day, Dr. Felton fixed 2 issues that the previous vet struggled with and found/fixed another issue that I didn’t know was causing a rash on my puppy. This was all on 1 dog, the first time she met him! I barely ever write reviews but this place is worth it. My 3 dogs are the most important things in my life, and trust them with Dr. Felton and Companion.

We have taken our dog here for a year now, we left Cameron park veterinary after the new owner tripled the prices and had terrible service.

This place is clean, it's nice. The staff (not the vets) are sub par on communication and their ability to empathize and understand your needs are limited. As I was told, they are very young, most of them this is there first career and they're not hired for their people skills but their animal skills.

The biggest problem I have experienced and continue to, is their pricing changes. When we booked our dogs dental cleaning they said they would be about two months out. We understood and booked the dental work. Upon coming in we were guilted the prices had gone up and were made to feel bad they were honoring the old price. Sorry you're so booked out you can't keep up with your price changes? Seems like a great problem to have to me.

Our next visit was no different. We booked a vacation and needed boarding for our dog for 5 days. We were qouted about $200. On arrival (day of our departure) we were shocked to be signing for a $400+ bill.

When I inquired the staff there told me they doubled the rate and if I didn't like it there was no pressure to board. They literally told me I should go somewhere else. On top of all of it this was the second time we were misled and treating poorly on pricing. They said they sent an email of price increases. Upon questioning I found out the increase was noted in an email that was in the form of a news letter. The blanket newsletter was supposed to suffice I suppose. Rather than call people who booked prior to the price change. Lazy in my opinion.

When I spoke to the vet I voiced my concern, not mentioning this was the second time price was an issue she offered a 25% discount which we took and moved on, or so I thought. I was then told that I rattled the staff and to only speak to the vets if something was wrong. Never in my communication did I swear at anyone or even really raise my voice. I did however point out their business practice was shady and deceptive. Which was when I was told I should go elsewhere else. In my opinion the staff was more rude than I. I was with my wife and 6yr old. I would never make a scene or make some employee cry in general let alone with my family.

It's very clear the front end staff have little ability to handle any situation without an adult present to manage them, by the way there's no adult present to manage them on the weekend which is why I was also frustrated. We had to sign for the $400 plus without speaking to anyone who could make a decision or listen to our concerns.

Here's the bottom line. Take your pet here. They treat the animals great. But get ANYTHING you get estimated in writing. They are either dishonest or disorganized and either means you'll suffer pricing changes with little to no support unless a manager is present. Or you'll be guilted about the price you do pay and made to feel as though you're having a favor done for them honoring the price they gave you. Be careful.

Very caring staff, both the doctors, techs, and front office. They have helped us with our dogs and rabbits and hamsters. Very knowledgeable.

Something was wrong with our older dog, Loop. He was acting odd & kept coming to me & staring at me. While he had no super obvious symptoms, Dr Yu & the Staff at Companion were ON IT from Day 1, helping us through all of the tests & diagnosis. Dr. Yu went out of her way to help, including getting opinions from the Lab & other Veterinarians. The Companion staff always went the extra mile in scheduling & treatments. "Thank You" just doesn't cover our gratitude. Companion has gone from being just another Veterinary office to part of our family forever.

Have been going here for a few years. Very friendly staff and great Dr, and there prices seem to be fare. I've taken my Dog and Cat here and they did a great job with both!

Our pup has been a patient of Dr. Felton for 9 years. All the doctors and staff are wonderful. They care about your furry loved one and you, you could not ask for better care team for your pet.

Very good and knowledgeable doctors are there, they accepted new dog with health problem at same day of calling them and gave right treatment - thank you!

Best vet in the area, have seen all of the vets in the office at this point and they're all great.

This is the most welcoming office staff Ive ever met. Dr. Erin is the vet Ive seen there and she sits right down on the floor with my big baby. My dog has allergies to almost anything. He is 5 and she is the first vet to clear his spots up.

This is an amazing vet! They truly care about your fur babies and they go above and beyond and everyone who works there is so kind and easy to talk to!

We have been going to Companion Animal Hospital for almost 15 years. Dr. Felton is a very gifted veterinarian who has always had a very special relationship with our dogs. Today, one of our dogs injured her leg. They cared enough to adjust their schedules on a Saturday to see our dog Olive. Today, we saw Dr. Yu and were equally impressed with her.

They take the time to review their charts and talk to humans to develop an intelligent, well thought out course of treatment.

I would never take my pets anywhere else (unless they were closed)

They were very compassionate when we had to put our lab down, and are taking care of our new puppy Loki!

I am beyond please with this Vet and ive seen a few in the area. Happy to have landed here.
