Compton Library reviews
8Time machine 80s not sure again if this was the same library we hung out in back in the 80s. We used to chill here after school. It was quiet & nice. I hope to see you all in future Godspeed
Clean Everything there, security as well and a diverse set of books! Across from McDonald's and at LA Superior court!
Really friendly staff. The library is clean and well staffed. They have a security guard and plenty of staff to help out. Highly recommend the location.
I’m standing in line trying to renew my library card. The librarian (older black lady with salt and pepper hair) insisted on having a personal conversation with the person in front of me. I was completely fine with it until it went on past a few minutes. I value peoples time, and that honestly was not the time nor place. You’re at work. Keep it professional.
It's huge, it's gorgeous, the librarians are amazing. Everything positive that's already been noted it totally true! This is just a few things I like about the Compton Library.
New update 3/2020
This place went from a 2 star to 4 star in 3 years for me. I don’t see as many homeless people outside anymore. Computers haven’t slowed down or froze on me. Staff is friendly and helpful. Still a bit too noisy but thank goodness ppl can only be on the computers for 2h.
Such a wonderful experience! As Black History comes to a close we decided to come to the library and check out a few culturally relevant books. Not only was there a flyer with recommendations on books that help build/boost the self esteem of Black children there was an extremely helpful lady at the front. We later found out her name is Krystal and she is the Library Manager. My 14 year old daughter expressed to Krystal the kinds of books we were looking for. Within minutes, Krystal found for us the absolute best selection of age appropriate books with beautiful brown skin children that mirror my kids' reflections. We all can't wait to dive into these stories!
P. S. We've come here before for the children friendly activities led by Ms. Lowe. She is also amazing!
