Conservatory of Flowers reviews
17Such an awesome place, amazing amount of things to check out and right in golden gate park. Only 10$ and 10/10 will recommend
I have wanted to visit this place for decades.and I finally did.and it did NOT disappoint! It was AWESOME! So many amazing, strange, wonderful, beautiful plants in such a unique and gorgeous old building. I will absolutely go back and visit again.and that says it all.with so many cool places to visit in CA, if I say I would visit again, that is telling how beautiful this gem is. Loved everything about this place!
Beautiful collection of some rare plant species like several pitcher plants ie carnivorous plant, orchids, etc. Awasome. A must visit for students.
Wonderful experience, beautiful and amazing plants. Small but well set-up, and atmospheric. Romantic and lovely building, with nature sounds.
I wouldn’t drive all the way out of SF just to see this place, but if you’re in the city and you enjoy plants and nature this place is definitely worth stopping by!
Straight off the bat if you have little kids I’d avoid coming here. You are not allowed to touch the plants and only allowed to look at them. If your kids are more of a hands on sort of person this is not an ideal place for them. If they do enjoy taking their time and enjoying different plants and have self control them this place shouldn’t be an issue for them.
Although it is relatively small, it is packed with various different tropical plants that you might not commonly see regularly. There are many interesting carnivorous plants as well as orchids and tropical flowers. You can get through all of the different parts of the conservatory in 30 minutes or so at the fastest if you take a small glance at each of the plants, and 40 minutes to maybe an hour or so if you take your time and take pictures of plants, etc.
Who would enjoy this:
- plant connoisseurs (variety of plants and uncommon ones which plant nerds would appreciate)
- people who like nature and really taking time and looking at pretty and small things
- older more elderly people
- people who like to take aesthetic photos
People who I think should avoid this place:
- children
- people who are not interested in nature or spending time looking at small pretty things
Overall for the cost of the ticket $10 for adults and $7 for teens and college students (cheaper for elderly and residents of SF) I think this place is worth stopping by and going to once. I wouldn’t mind coming back to show friends who are visiting SF.
Loved this place. It is quietly beautiful, not crowded, full of amazing and wonderful plants. The building is interesting as a historical piece.
A nice relaxed backyard of golden gate park. The grounds just outside are lovely and a great place for a picnic.
This is a wonderful experience. The many beautiful and exotic plants and flowers leave you in awe. A must-see place when visiting San Francisco.
Beautiful! The pitcher plant variety is amazing. I wanted to touch everything sooooo bad (but didn't!) It is all so stunning.
Beautiful space with wonderful plants variety. Go anytime they always got flowers in bloom. Excellent water plant feature. They do have some plants for sale as well.
This is located right in my favorite park of SF (Golden Gate Park) and has interesting & beautiful surroundings. The conservatory flowers can be especially special depending on the seasons and bloom. Good activity to do with the family, plus workers and customer service are friendly!
Beautifully kept. A Flower for all seasons. Gave me joy I had never met. Peaceful and tranquil is what I sought. And love is what I found.in every stem and within every flourish.
I have always wanted to go here.i’ve walked by the impressive greenhouse so many times and wondered what it looked like inside.the conservatory is impressive, but there are few flowers.lots of carnivorous plants, however.entrance fee is $12 and the space is relatively small.all in all, i wouldn’t do it again but am i glad i did it the one time.
Quite possibly my favorite spot in San Francisco. An absolutely stunning little greenhouse, with a wonderful selection and placement of plants. I loved the giant lily pads the most, but the Little Free Library in the West Gallery gets honorable mention!
The Conservatory doesn't take long to traverse- possibly half an hour at a leisurely pace, although I'm sure one could happily while away several hours relaxing in such a dreamy setting!
Parking around Golden Gate Park isn't the easiest. I'd recommend taking public transportation over.
Additionally, note that they have free admission on the 1st Tuesday of every month!
Everything about this Conservatory/Botanical Garden is fascinating and there is so much to learn. The whole area is immaculately maintained and some of the flowers are not only colourful but they exude such lovely fragrance. Will definitely revisit upon my return to San Francisco
Such a beautiful place. The admission is reasonable and the experience is breath taking. Random fact: the conservatory is the oldest building in golden state park.
My absolute favorite area in my favorite city. The inside is gorgeous (Brews - Botanicals makes a great date night), but lying out on the lawn listening to live music under the nearby bridge is the most perfect experience.
Pro tip if you're visiting: Drop by after sundown, the conservatory starts gettin' funky
The conservatory of flowers is must see in San Francisco.
The building itself is gorgeous but once you're inside, you'll be travelling to the tropics. The conservatory managed to create a great immersive experience to host all these flowers from different parts of the world.
My personal favorite room is the one with the lilies, majestically floating in their ponds.
