Great: Very clean place. Inside and out. Including the bathrooms.

Good: Small venue. Every spot is a good spot.

Bad: It was a little confusing on which line to get in for entrance to the show because multiple shows were going on but there was staff to help guide us.

Worst: The merchandise for bands playing is located after the show in the smoking area. Had to smell smoke as we stood in line.

Sound and lighting was awesome! But the room felt so tightly packed, there were people standing all the way to the door and very little wiggle room to try and see past the people standing in front of me. The ventilation was very poor. It got hot and humid in there fast.

The staff was friendly and the facility is well kept and clean, but its honestly kind of terrible to see a show here. Since two shows can be booked at the same time on the same night (with only curtains and a short hallway to separate them), you get a juxtaposition of two disparate genres of music blaring through each other, with cheers from the other concert drowning out some of the show you're there to see.

On top of that, it seems to be the venue standard to overbook the shows, filling both rooms to the capacity of the whole venue (very unsafe for fire code). There wasn't even mosh room for all of the ticket holders at the show, and people were standing in the hallway craning for a glimpse of the stage.

Overall, would definitely not recommend this venue to anyone.

Love this spot for an intimate music venue. Great set up, very clean, food and bar as well as an outdoor chill area. They've put in work and effort and it shows! We most recently saw Dead Poet Society and it was an awesome show. Acoustics and audio were crisp!

This is Los Angeles, where all the big bands play because they can fill big venues, where newer bands play because they're hoping to get a record deal, where seasoned bands play because they'll get the audience, and where up and coming bands play because it's L. A.and you wanna get recognition and a reputation. The Constellation Room is perfect for all of them except the big bands (unless it's a one off intimate thing) because it's such a tiny, in-your-face venue. You can fit about 300 people in here, it's amazing. The Constellation Room is located inside The Observatory in Santa Ana. The Observatory is the main venue, the Constellation Room is a smaller room off to the side. When you get there you can park on the venue's grounds for about $25 or pay $10 to park at a lot about a 5-minute walk away, if that. When you walk in to The Observatory there's a good size bar to the right with cocktails and nice cold beers and a patio where you can sneak off for a quick smoke, if desired. To get to the Constellation Room you head towards the main venue, up a small hallway, but before you hit the main room curtained off to your right is The Constellation Room. This venue is so small that I don't care where you stand if the lead singer spits while singing you may get sprayed. There's usually a merch stand on the higher platform at the back of the room where you can get your tees, vinyl, cd, patches, whatever. And then right in front of you, on the other side of the small room is a bar filled with whatever your poison is, except arsenic. The whole room is painted black, it doesn't matter where you stand you have a perfect view, the band is right there in front of you. The sound is always brilliant, it has to be, the room is too small to stand too far away from the sound guy for the speakers to be distorted. I love this venue, both rooms, the Constellation Room and the main room. Both are very intimate. If there's an artist or band or comedian or whoever playing here that you like, just go, go see them. If they get bigger, more popular, you'll never see them in a venue as personal or as intimate as this again. It's one of my favourite spots. I look forward to getting here again.

Awsome venue one of my favorites. Everyone usually goes right past it to the big room. Once youre in go ahead and check out whats going on in there first before waiting around for ur big show. Small intimate performances happen in there sometimes big names. Not very often but enjoy a band on the rise in a small space. Just get ur tickets quick cuz they sell out fast. I think theyre cheaper than the big room too. With 10 parking i bought two tickets and it was under 50 bux. Unheard of right? If a band u like is playing there i definately recommend snagging tickets u wont be disappointed unless the band u like sux ;P

The venue is tucked away in a quiet office and industrial area. All the best intimate spots are, unsuspecting, and brilliant. Came to see a sold out show and was not disappointed. Preferred parking up front was worth it. Line was organized, bag search and metal detector. Check Live nation for entrance requirements.
There is a walk up bar inside the Constellation Room. Small, but the circulation in there is fantastic and didn't feel cramped at all.
Highly recommend seeing a show here.

Went to the Warning show (those girls are the best), paid a more expensive ticket thinking I’d have a better seat (that’s what they make you think in their website) but when I got to the venue, surprise! No seats or zones at all, no matter how much you spent it was all the same for everyone.
Normally I wouldn’t care but I did pay for a “better zone”. SCAM

Went to see Orion Sun really wish the security would crack down on rowdy drinkers at an rnb concert some people want to relax and have a good time, nice small venue good lighting and everything too, i'm vaccinated but forcing people to show a vax card or pcr test in this climate is a lil over the top

Pretty good venue with new bathrooms and plenty of room to take a break from the music outdoor. Main room tends to sell out often and sometimes feels too full. Most shows at the Satellite are good though. Drinks are priced as you would expect. Parking is 20 dollars for most shows when it should be 10, as the venue is in OC and not LA, and there is plenty of parking nearby.

January 2022: since my last review, they have constantly oversold, bathrooms are always dirty, and drinks are somehow outpacing inflation. Not surprised, since the venue is now operated by live nation.

March 2022: Another clearly oversold show in the constellation room. The singer is an R&B artist /band, but the other show in the Observatory was a loud punk show. You could hear it the entire time and it really killed the vibe, so much so even the artist made a comment about it. Constellation audience spilled into the hallway and the curtain couldn't be closed. Just ridiculous.
