Cool Hand Luke's reviews
20The inside and outside is nice and clean. Nice bar. Friendly staff. Comfortable seating. The food is so good! You get a lot of food. Tender steak, huge shrimp, rolls and whipped garlic butter are awesome. Must try.
Nice place with a good atmosphere. The stakes are decent but the beans are very delicious. A little slow but worth the wait. Staff is always professional and friendly.
I think they need a new chef, what do you think? Ordered two steaks and Both steaks were ordered medium rare. One was well done and the other one was rare.
I want to recognize Chase, the Bar Back.
What an exceptional employee, this young man is. Excellent work ethics & very personable with customers.
Thank you Chase, for your candid conversation.
Vacant tables everywhere and a staff standing around, but it still takes 25 min to get seated.
Mystery beans occurred.
I ordered a prime rib. They left it for so long under the salamander it was gray and no longer rare. They charged me like $3 extra for au jus because all they give you is a tiny shot glass of it. It tastes like pure beef/tomato bouillon, BARELY diluted. My husbands New York was over done and also a lovely shade of ashy brown gray.
This place is a waste of money and all you’re paying for is disappointment
If you want a good steak don’t go here. Pure and simple.
If you’re just hungry and anything will do? Still don’t go here.
My prime rib had so much fat in it. I couldn't eat it.the manager came out and said he wouldn't be serving any more of it do to the fat content.it wasnuce he came out and talked to us.
Food was so delicious i ordered the Salmon love how they make it mashed potatoes to die for, nachos extremely delicious the staff very kind and polite alwas came to our table to check if we needed anything.i truely recommend it highly.
Service was friendly & great. Waitress repeatedly checked on us; loved that.
Food was lacking. I asked for medium doneness on steak & it was well done. Steak was lacking in flavor but side of fries was good. Calamari had a slight fishy smell. Hubby's mashed tasted like mash from a box except they added the skins from the fries to make it seem authentic, lol.
So, if you're really hungry & can't wait & dont want fast food, but will settle for mediocre, then come here.
Where do we even start? We are new to Yuba City and still exploring dining options. We had a reservation for 4 and were early but the place wasn't busy. There were a couple waitresses hanging around the bar chit-chatting with the bartender all night. We asked for a table and they made it clear that all of their tables were currently empty so it wouldn't be a problem. They waited about 20 minutes to seat us. Even though it wasn't busy it still took our waitress about half an hour to come by. We ended up with bread before we even got water. The food had NO flavor. I honestly thought I had COVID and lost my sense of taste. My dad had ribs and the bones were so splintered that they were difficult and unsafe to eat. I mentioned to them it was my mom's birthday hoping they would sing. Nope. I came in there with the cash to tip $68, a dollar for every year of my mom's life to celebrate her, but the service and food was so awful that I barely choked down 20%. So disappointing, never again!
They lie on receipt about tip. The tip is pre tax. Why are they lying or not telling you what they're basing the tip off of?
I haven't been there for a while but it was just as good as the last time I was there. I had the tri-tip and it was amazing, the staff was friendly and prompt just an overall good experience.
Best Takeout order I have ever had in Yuba City! Dining in is great also they always make sure everything is well taken care of. Ribeye and alcohol selection is great. Rib eye is my favorite
Great service. Fresh bread and chilli beans were fantastic. Salad was fresh and very good. But the main course was disappointing. Steak was overcooked ordered medium, and it was definitely well done and dry. The mashed red potatoes had a weird flavor.
This Place Def Needs A Remodel. All The Booths Were Cracked And Peeling. Smelled Musty In There, And Was Dusty. I Had Prime Rib. $35 For Meteoker Food. Was Cooked Ok, But Lacked Any Flavor. Hadn't Been To This Place In Years Cause Of The Same Bad Experience. Hasn't Changed! Def A No Go!
Waaaay overpriced for what you get! I typically get a cheeseburger (cause I'm not rich) and that thing costs $20, very bland with no seasoning. Bring an extra $11 for a carwash at Surf Thru because the crows will absolutely paint your car with poop! Can't say my experience was all that memorable. Cute, personable server made it bearable!
Stopped by and split a porterhouse with my wife. This is the best steak house in Yuba City as far as I'm concerned. Cost you about 20 more dollars than Sizzler and worth every penny! The staff is fantastic! The food is great!
I really like this place. Nice atmosphere and service. Without a reservation on a Tuesday night, we were seated in about 15 minutes. The food is really good, too. One of the best ribeyes I've had in a long time. Green beans were a little overcooked, but very tasty. Ribs fall off the bone. A bit pricey, but worth it for date night.
CHLs (Yuba City, CA) is probably the best steak house in town. Still, there are better steak houses in NorCal, if you don't mind driving 45-60 minutes getting there. Now, CHLs steaks are one thing, but that little pot of baked beans they serve as a complimentary side are to die for. Add in great table service and ambience, CHLs is definitely worth passing up all of the other local restaurants.
The food is pretty much alway great. There has been the occasional fatty or tuff steak, but that is the exception. My biggest disappointment is they jack up the price big time! Some an additional $10-15 a plate! So expect to spend $40-50 each. That's crazy the is good, but now we don't go nearly as often because of it
I made the mistake of ordering a steak last night else where, because we are having our staff lunch at the school today. These guys get the steak perfect, tender juicy and lightly chard on the outside, whith just the right amount of fat and gristle.
