Cool Hand Luke's Steakhouse, Riverbank CA

This place is my favorite steak house, this evening we had Ribs, which could be the best I've ever had, staff was incredible, bartender did a great job, only thing that needs to be addressed is the budwieser draft, it was pickled.

This place is very dusty (curtains) good was over cooked, not worth the price you pay here

Stopped on for a cocktail and appetizers before a movie. Excellent deep fried mushrooms and tasty, potent $5 happy hour I can't wait for our next movie and new tradition

I was hesitant to come here based on other comments. It's a nice restaurant. Service was better than average, but not outstanding. The food was good. I ordered the crispy mushrooms based on previous reviews. I ordered the steak and bake, for $12.99 it's a good deal and it tasty. Dinners come with rolls, butter, and campfire beans. The beans were good. My only complaint is that most of the meals here are approaching the $30 price point.

Walked after waiting 50 min. Tables around us seemed to get served promptly, bread drinks ect. Not sure what happened we have always had a good experience here, will try again after some time. We all have bad nights. Cheers

Wait times are terrible. You call ahead just so the staff can tell you "it's an hour and a half wait time, but your welcome to our saloon". The saloon is also full.

Is atmosphere is very inviting. The service is friendly. The food has great. Flavor is very good but very pricey. Couldn't find anything for dinner for under $20 per person. Overall would definitely go back on special occasions. Not too busy on a Sunday night.

Luke's will remain one of our favorite chain restaurants - that is unless we have a second negative experience in a row, and if in that case, we unfortunately probably won't be back. Poorly made "old fashioned" whiskey for starters, followed by a scrawney rib eye, and a subpar loaded baked potato. Like I said, for all the great meals we've had there, I'm not going to hold this one negative experience against them. I will say, our server was great, tho.

Took my son to dinner at Cool Hand Luke’s and was definitely unimpressed. The server in the bar got our beverages quickly enough — and then never came back. She walked by us once to meet her friend at the door and stayed there chatting with her fiend for a very long time while tables were not getting served.
When we got a table, it look a long time for our server to come. We were ready to order, but he only let us order drinks, and then hurried off. He brought the drinks and left again, without a word.
Another 10-15 minutes and he came back to take ours order.
When he brought bread and soup, we had to wait for him to come back (again) to ask if we could have napkins and utensils.
When the food came, it was ok. Not great, but ok. I ordered the steakhouse Cobb salad, and the steak was bland, and the bacon was burnt. My son’s steak was not bad, but he wanted steak sauce and it took almost 10 more minutes to get that.
Overall, the food was 3/5 and the service was 0/5.
Probably won’t be going back.

The place was clean and server was nice
However, it seemed as if our food order was forgotten about, then when our server checked, it took as long as if we just ordered right then. My husband's prime rib was cooked to perfection
However mine was well done when order medium and my shrimp scampi was cold and overcooked. All handled calmly.

The service was great the restaurant interior was nice but the food was OK
at best, thin, thin rib eye covered in garlic, cooked correctly but the buns were hard.
Go there for with friends or family but NOT for the food

Katie was our server and she was great! Also Toni at the bar was great! First time there and it was a great dining experience. From Turlock and will definitely be back.

Food was good, beer was flat and we didn't get any bread and campfire beans for some odd reason.

The food was dry, they did not sever us our rolls with that light fluffy butter. The server on the other hand was amazing, very sweet. 5 stars to our server 1 star for the taste of the food. 9/28/22 Gave this place another try, because they are running the prime rib dinner for two special. For 39.99. Took almost 45 minutes to set us, because they are short handed. Not because there was no tables. That was OK though. Our server was awesome, Very nice young man, took our order. The prime rib was good. Our baked potatoes was not done, hard on the inside. Salad was good. Bread and the beans were good. Not sure if I will give it another chance.

Food was good but service was SUPER slow. We were the second customers through the door after they opened. We were there for over an hour before we got our food. We were traveling through but I probably wouldn't eat there again.

The pros friendly staff, we got seated right away, the bread and beans are good. Now the bad is that it took a LONG… LONG time for our food to be brought to us and it wasn’t that good either. The Cobb salad had hard to eat meat, salmon had a very sweet taste, my friend’s ribs racks were hard not tender. Overpriced for the food quality they serve us and the time it took.

The place has great potential and has a great set up like wild west which I enjoyed. The reason I gave them a 1 star is because I went with my family, all 8 of us to have dinner last night, Wednesday Sep 7th. When it was my turn to order I ordered the burger. The burger on the menu says, meat patty, cheese, bacon, and onions. When I asked the waitress I specifically told her how I wanted it and told her I wanted it exactly how the menu said and asked her if this is how it comes and if it comes with any produce. She told me no it only comes with what the menu says. So the food comes and of course, it has everything the menu said plus tomatoes, lettuce, and mayonnaise. I was so mad I went to the kitchen and told one of the bus boys to please send our waitress over. She shows up and says, "so what happened? " When I told her the other stuff that came on it I never wanted she took it back but she didn't even apologize. So my food ended up coming like almost 20 minutes later and my family was all done eating. I felt rushed and didn't really get to enjoy my meal. The waitress should of specified.

My husband and I tried eating here several years ago and was disappointed but I am all about supporting our local businesses. We decided to try it out again after all these years and I will happily be back. We ordered the early bird special and got the steak and baked potato loaded. The steak is tender with a good char flavor and they cooked it perfectly medium rare. The potato was perfection and the rolls sourdough with just a little hint of garlic flavor. It's perfectly placed to stop in and eat there for a good steak dinner right before you walk over to watch a movie at the theater.
