Cotija's Taco Shop, San Diego CA

This is one of the best Mexican food places I have ever been to. You can't go wrong with anything you get here, but I highly recommend getting a wet burrito. The enchilada sauce is not spicy, and goes perfectly with any burrito. The rolled tacos are also a great option and you also get a generous serving of guacamole on top.

Great food and daily specials. The salsa bar is really good with a variety of salsas, raw chopped onions and peppers, limes, and pickled jalapeños and carrots. My favorite is the Wednesday fish taco special. Other daily specials are excellent. Here it's fish taco Wednesday! Service is counter service and friendly. Bar bones seating inside and outside.

I had my usual shrimp burrito. It was ok but didn't taste as good as my previous Cotija's shrimp burritos.

Order has been wrong the last several times. Wont eat here again. As of late seems the quality is also poor very fatty meat.

Seriously! I can’t stop raving about this place! Every day of the week they have specials.but GOOD ones. Where can you get two fish tacos rice and beans for seven dollars? (ok, ok, Wednesday ONLY BUT still only $10.49 the other six days a week) The service is always quick and always friendly and efficient. Ask for Mayra, she is super!

Pretty good taco shop. Food is good across the board. It's not a fancy place but it is clean and a good place to grab a quick bite at a good price.

My first shot at this place was for a breakfast burrito - eggs beans cheese potato. It was nearly all tortilla with very little of each component. Friendly staff, clean dining area. Good salsa, but for 11 bucks please don't pull a shrinkflation move on good paying customers. You'll just lose them.

Been going to this place for years, was the go to Taco Shop for me growing up. I feel like the prices have always been decent, the prices have raised a lot due to inflation but so has everywhere else. I love the El Grande Burrito, literally the size of my forearm. I can always save this for at least more than 2 meals which is amazing!

Had a great tasty hash brown breakfast burrito. Nice choice of hot sauces. I liked the habanero hot sauce the best! Hot and spicy

Very unprofessional people working there. Walked in with my service dog who I need with me in especially in public places. Told the girl behind the counter he was a service dog and she insisted to see the card and they are NOT allowed to ask for it by California low. So I told her that and showed her the card at the same time but because of that and all the people watching me since she was very loud I got uncomfortable in a way I cannot explain but you can imagine since I need a service dog, and so I had to leave. Never ever going back!

I informed the girl working at the front that they hardly fried the carnitas it was basically pork roast thrown on the grill for a few seconds, wasn't asking for a refund or remake. I said no problem. I'm going to eat it. Can you let the cook know and she replied to me that carnitas is not fried and if I wanted it more fried to tell them extra crispy next time she could have just said I will let the cook know but to insult my intelligence is another thing. I have been making carnitas for years. Been eating them for years. Half of my family is Mexican. I think I know I think everyone knows that carnitas is fried pork!

Walked in, the stench almost made me vomit. Walked out. Very disappointed as I had heard they had good food. Did notice that they had a nice patio to sit outside.

Sometimes really on and sometimes not so much, for 12 dollar california burrito I expect more than fries a bit of meat, a ton of tortilla and few teaspoons of pico, next to nothing Guac and zip for sour cream.tip 14 for meat and potatoes isnt a great deal.
