Italian Restaurant Cotogna reviews
21Food was good and the service was great! The atmosphere is the best part especially for patio dining. Food came out fast and hot. I really enjoyed the pappardelle. My husband really enjoyed the carbonara pizza.
Really cute venue and the cannolis were amazing. The rest was pretty mediocre. Some light and refreshing veggie dishes but the pasta wasn’t even cooked (had to send it back) and over all sort of pretending not actually great food. Def not worth the very steep price.
Amazing food! Amazing staffs! Had a really great experience in Cotogna. My favorite is the corn triangoli and also being a big fan of gelato I have to say the Mango gelato is sooo good and so creamy. I’ll say the gelato is the best one I have ever had.
Great place for an outdoors lunch. Excellent pasta and pizza. Nice to sit in the parklet and people-watch while eating. Great service too!
Ordered vegan pasta since it was an option. It was plain pasta, and what looked like frozen corn and peas with olive oil on top. Very gross. I returned it immediately and while the service was nice, the whole experience being sat in the cold with little heating and the food was overall bad experience. Shame we hear good things but not good.
Amazing! We are still talking about our meal. Delicious! Perfect outdoor seating to enjoy the beautiful day and attentive service. Thank you.
Luck is getting a resy here. My foodie complaining parents love this spot- as do I. We have gotten lucky & have gotten outdoor & indoor tables & bar seating. I definitely feel a little desperate to eat here because my heart is so happy after we leave. It’s pricey- for sure- but It is exceptional.
Well, I have been very torn over writing this review for several months already. I do occasionally write negative reviews, but I do not like writing negative reviews and I do not like hurting someone's business. But, truth to be told, you guys made us sick, both my wife and myself, so this review is really past due. My wife started to vomit on the street already 2 blocks from the restaurant, and within literally 30 minutes of eating at your restaurant, luckily, we live super close, that $400 dinner (that btw wasn't anything special to begin with) turned into explosive diarrhea that lasted several days. Not cool. Absolutely not cool. I'm assuming something about cleanliness wasn't in order. Maybe produce was not properly washed, maybe an employee hygiene issue, maybe meat, it doesn't matter. I shouldn't be getting sick eating out for $4 or $400. Money is irrelevant here, but standards are. I will close my review here. Everything else that I could write, either good or bad about your food, or staff, or place itself is irrelevant after such unfortunate health scare experience. Hope you fix this, and you make sure this doesn't ever never happen to anyone else.
Main reason I wanted to try this restaurant was the ravioli, and it’s was just perfect!
We tried a few other dishes and everything was delicious!
I will definitely gonna come back to this restaurant.
Also, I really love how the stuff are always there to help!
Totally recommend
What a lunch! Extremely polite staff-great menu-
Loved the special shrimp-the rabbit was extremely good.
Amazing food, atmosphere, and service - this place lived up to its hype.
We started with aranchini - it was great and comes in 2 generous pieces sharable for our group of 4.
We got two pizzas and a pasta. The carbonara was super unique and you can never go wrong with the margherita. Both were excellent in flavour and in the well-blaanced crispy yet chewy crust. For the pasta, we got the corn one recommend by our waiter and I absolutely loved it (though I do general love all things corn).
We ended with the quail and rabbit mains. The dishes were good and beautifully presented but I'd say the portions are a bit small, we each basically had one piece.
I want to also note their incredible service - they brought us the trout instead of the mains we ordered by mistake and even though we didn't think much of it, they apologized with some focaccia and dessert on the house, both of which were amazing and we all left incredibly stuffed.
Would definitely come back to try some of the other pastas and pizzas!
The gnocco frito were puffs of fried bread light as a feather used as a bed for lovely prosciutto. The corn pasta was spectacular. Gelato of espresso and fudge lovely. Great restaurant and even better staff
Great place, great food, and excellent service. The waitstaff and Dan were wonderful! Right on with the recommendations!
Ricotta Ravioli was out of this world!
Seasonal tomatoes and burrata was also on point.
I regret that I have but one stomach to give to this experience. The salad was quite good; the pasta was divine; and the gelato was worth the trip from Boston.
A perennial favorite that seems to get better with time.such a warm and inviting place.a rare place where it’s hard to choose between indoor and outdoor dining.we would be dining here more often if reservations were easier to get and walk in wait times were shorter.
Next to Michelin rated Quince, very tasty pasta dishes, overall awesome, one of my fav Italian spots in SF.
Wow wow wow what a great experience and the meal was delicious we had the Hamachi Crudo and ordered a second it was that good. The Carbonara pizza was out of this world one of the best I have ever eaten. Homemade pasta with Morels blew my mind. Oh and the wine selection is well procured.
Food delicious but I’m sick of un informed wait staff at these prices. Dinner doesn’t have to be that complicated. Ask server about pizzas and she says cheese. Have to ask what kind? Is their sauce? And the pastas? Is there sauce? Sparkling water 8$ per person when you can’t tell the difference in the carafes.
Appetizers and freshly made pastas were wonderful. Very light compared to the pastas previously made. Service was excellent initially. We were seated ahead of time, as we arrived early and the team made my son, whose birthday we were celebrating, very welcome. However, our waiter seemed to disappear several times while we waited for another glass of wine or dessert menu. Other than that I would have given it a five star.
