Cotswolds, Fresno CA

We lived at the Cotswolds for 3 years, from August 2020 to August 2023. Our rent was $1636 in 2020, raised to $1718 in 2021, raised to $1855 in 2022 and was raised to $2040 for 2023, if we had decided to renew. After a 13% raise with the last 2 years, we really weren’t expecting a whopping 10% with only 30 Day notice when the previous raises were 60 Day. The apartment we left is now $1877, with 11 other vacancies. I can’t imagine why. This was a quiet and safe community in our first year but during our time at Cotswolds there were multiple car break ins, packages stolen, mailbox break ins, and catalytic converters stolen. Unfortunately the office manager Claudia’s favorite tag line is “crime knows no zip code. ” You’re advised to file a report with Fresno PD and keep everything of value in your apartment or out of sight. We saw so much get captured on the Ring Neighbors app. Gates are open all day, close around 7pm, but the gate off Hickory Hill is often left open and can also be easily opened from the outside. We brought this to the office’s attention, and unfortunately (you guessed it) “crime knows no zip code. ” A mass email was sent reminding tenants to keep it closed, since absolutely nothing else could be done. There is also zero security patrols or security cameras anywhere on the property that is occupied by tenants except for the office building (only cameras). Please tour the surrounding apartments instead. Aside from hardwood flooring throughout, there’s nothing luxurious about the Cotswolds. No ceiling fans or lights in the living rooms or bedrooms. For the price you would pay here, you’d get all that plus much nicer amenities from the surrounding complexes.

I've been living here for 8 months and so far it's been amazing. Great area to live in. Safe and quiet community. Staff, Claudia and Jeanette are kind and friendly. Lilly is also very helpful and a sweet person. Any maintenance issues I have are handled timely. Grounds are maintained and clean. Excellent place to live.

My daughter lives there and they keep stealing her packages and it's gated so makes it even worse
